Well it's a pain in the neck to start as there are no icons. There are complaints about this but no fix. Started it on my phone was to go to my apps and locate the about screen and hit the icon top right. Prorm then starts but has problem connecting via WiFi. No problem using the old play memories though
Were is it!!!! Download and it's gone,it's doesn't surprise me really as Sony for many years have gone down in all areas yet still charging a premium! ,Poor products that can't even communicate with each other, imaging edge app is no better a bit of hit and miss , absolutely rubbish
After downloading on my phone, the app is nowhere to be found. I used it on my iPhone before and it was great but it doesn't work on android. As stated in someone else's review, you must dowoad the app called imaging edge mobile to sync your phone with the smart remote app in your sony camera
The app has no USB support, only wifi, which is less than optimal for a timelapse because of the important battery drainage (even with a dedicated power bank connected to the camera, I observed a slight drop in battery life over one night using wifi. @SONY please implement a USB compatibility for full camera control
Don't install this app. It does nothing. There is no icon to click on. Seriously... it does nothing. I do not know why it is even in the app store. Look for Imaging Edge Mobile. Connects to my AZ1 and allow for remote control.
USE "IMAGINING EDGE MOBILE" INSTEAD! I've no idea what this app does but making your Sony remote camera work in any way is not one of them. It doesn't even appear in your downloaded apps after downloading to your phone, so I've unistalled from source. Why is this a separate app to the PLAY MEMORIES app? Soooo MANY apps! Many thanks to another reviewer for pointing me in the right direction, my remote camera is finally working again 👍
the application icon does not appear after installation. can't run at all. So my Sony extreme camera can't be remotely activated. Hint: don't buy Sony cameras. No support for any problem and they don't keep back compatibility for old versions of their cameras.
Such a rubish app I've ever seen. I've installed the app and It's totally gone. Searched everywhere but It's gone. Similar case has been addressed by several users. But no resolution came from sony. Even they didn’t release any update since 2016. I'm a big fan of sony but now feeling ashamed.
Some people could not find the app symbol on their smartphones after download. It does not show there. You have to turn your camera on, select menu and then applications. Remote control should be on this list. Select and follow instructions to link to phone by Wi-Fi.
Frustrating!!! The app icon is missing after downloading in my Android phone. Don't but a Sony action cam unless it comes with a remote because you won't be able to control the camera remotely as there's no working remote app you can use for it.
Quite silly that the way this works requires me to download this in order for the playmemories app to work. Yes the icon doesn't appear but it doesn't matter because once this is downloaded your play memories app all of a sudden works.
Experience, what experience. It said installed but searched a long time and never located in order to use it... deleted it! That was stupid, the developer can't even have it place an icon on your phone to use it...
Useless! Says it's installed but can't find it in my phone and no option to open it from the install page. This is yet another thing that has made me realize that Sony has gone down the tubes.
Installed twice and can't even find an icon. They used to have the "PlayMemories" app, but it seemsto have disappeared from the play store. Dissapointing.
I agree with all the comments 😂 Wt... You install the app and the app gone! Is installed in your android phone but your don't see...😂 So I tried to use a third app to dig where the *** it was,and boom! found it! but guess what? App doesn't even open 😂 Sony big company, big joke app !?? Even student developers wouldn't make this happen... Seems for real a joke somewhere or a frustrating marketing strategy?(perhaps to run away?🙃) Sony? erase/rebuild the app. (It's ok, we all do mistakes)

Says its downloaded but doesn't show on my phone. I bought a sony camera w/wifi to be able to upload pictures but now that doesn't seem possible. It doesn't seem like the play memories app is available anymore either.
Downloaded and it doesn't appear anywhere so unusable. Looks like I'll have to go back to using my Lumix camera and remote app that works faultlessly.
This app worked fine on my old phone but now on my new phone there is no icon that appears after I tried installing it twice. It appears I'm not the first to have this problem.
The Sony star has long crashed back to Earth. This is the first app that I could not find, let alone use. No updates since 2016 Should have caught that before wasting time.
Downloaded and says installed on Google Play, but it does not show on my phone. Not in the app screen, app manager, or when I use find.
How many apps do we need to connect our phones to the camera? Does someone at sony need to justify their job or something? Just make one app and have it work properly just like the play memory app before you guys crippled it!
It's an old app and no update or whatsoever. After installed couldn't find any icon. Reinstalled twice and same problem. Trash..
WARNING: THIS IS NOT AN APP FOR YOUR PHONE - it's an app for a SMARTWATCH which is why you won't see an icon. Silly Sony for not caring enough about their products to make this clearer.
Like others said. Play store shows it is installed, but it doesn't show up on phone. Doesn't even appear under Settings/Apps.
Worst aap, a update came and show me " Your device isn't compatible with this version. " Now I am unable to use my camera by my phone. Plz do something for such devices which I and many people like me had.
Installed. In play store, instead of Open App link, Install button just changes to Uninstall. No icon installed to activate app. Idiotic.
Downloaded fine but no button to open the app so can't access. Perhaps it needs updating, Samsung galaxy S8.

Works fine, I lost the charger to the matching remote and this app saved me a lot of headache. *And to those who nag about not finding the icon for it on their phone, THIS IS AN APP FOR SONY SMARTWATCH 3, as clearly mentioned in the description * Turn WiFi on, on the camera, go to settings of your phone and connect to the camera's WiFi. SSID and password usually inside cam battery cover. Connect to the same network on your watch & run the app, watch will show the camera's view with buttons.
