Camera Translator

this app needs a little more work . it does a literal translation not spoken English which is what I expected . my issue is that it's difficult to control the image sizing. sizing box seems to have a mind of its own and shrinks down and then you have to go back and take the picture again and start over. when you have an entire book to translate this gets annoying very quickly. keep working on it it's worth testing it out to see if it'll work for you

After closing most ads, the picture you were trying to translate doesn't even show up, and you have to try it over again. With pictures where you have to crop like I had to, this quickly became very frustrating. I'm also not paying for just 1 month of no ads, when Google Translate does it for free. The extra star is because it works "sometimes," but not enough to warrant anything higher.

I had low expectations after having tried several before this one, all of which were pretty dang crappy. The ads aside, I'm pleasantly surprised by how well this works even with taking a pic of Japanese text, even when it's written vertically. The translations into English are a bit rough but somewhat better than what google provides.

This app is amazing. When I downloaded this I expected a cheap app, that I would uninstall after a minute, that would take bad pictures, and translate words wrong. The translations seemed very accurate and my pictures looked clearer on the app than my phone. Props to whoever created this. However, I used Spanish to English which I did not have to download, but other languages you may have to.

It used to be my favorite translator app. Allowed me to work with the text and get sensical translations, but now it doesn't work ar all. Takes a picture but doesn't come up with any text. If it does, the text clearly doesn't resemble the picture. It was a let down.

Horrible. I type the same text into it three times and it gives me totally different translations each time. The grammar is horrible throughout the whole app. It also has a notification permanently hovering in my notification bar, telling me to " Tap to translate !". Like that's not totally annoying and unnecessary. I can just open the app if i want to, right? So what even is the point of that? Anyways, that was the last straw for me, and it's what caused me to uninstall. This is unusable.

It is an excellent app developed by these people. Even though sometimes it give senseless meanings because of shaking, I can still adjust to it and get the right meaning. You should try it for sure. It has helped me progress a lot.

Awesome app! I don't get the negative ones as well. I've tried about 8 different ones and this is the ONLY one that can translate accurately. I can zoom in w/o having to get up and move closer to whatever (usually TV). Its fast and simple and my favorite translator I've worked with

I tried putting in my own pictures and taking pictures with the app, but it would not translate anything. I saw in another review that someone said you couldn't skip the ads, so I tried again 6 times each, watching the videos all the way through, and yet it didnt translate anything for me. The first time I tried it said it didn't identify any language for me, but all the other times it worked like it had detected something, so I can't figure out why it's not translating anything.

The translation is very vague, so don't expect a very grammatically correct translation BUT it is handy if you want to know the general meaning behind a sentence. I buy quite a few Japanese products for example without knowing Japanese. When I use this app on labels or instructions, even though the translation isn't perfect, I do get the general meaning behind what they're trying to say. Since the update tho, it's forever stuck on "loading your info, please wait" rendering it useless, needs fix

Sometimes it works and most times it cancels its own app mid-translation. I cannot stress enough how many times it will LITERALLY shut itself off causing you to restart it multiple times. Three stars is being very generous as this app is better than most other apps on here for the function. If they ever fix the auto shutdown problem when translating, i would sincerly give this app 5 stars. Thank you for reading my concern.

really easy to use a must for anyone who can't speak their second language fluently or even any other language. just type what you want or even say it and even take a screenshot or photo of foreign text you want translating. very handy piece of kit.

This is horrible. I took a perfect crystal clear picture of Japanese text and it insisted that something was wrong. When I zoomed out, it did give me some English text. The text it gave me was already English on the picture. Not to mention, it asked to make and manage phone calls. It's a camera app. It doesn't need to make and manage phone calls. One star. I would pay real money to give it less.

Just installed, cannot skip feature tour and being asked to rate the app. After 10 seconds, really? How about you let me actually TRY this first. Ok finally got to try, list of languages is not alphabetical (???) Even thought it may appear and instead of translating anything it plays add. Useless junkware, do not bother.

This app is a poorly made copy of the google translate app. the camera function didn't actually display or translate the picture and theres far too many ads when you could simply download the actual google translate app for free. it works much better, theres no ads, and it doesnt ask you to buy the paid version. I feel bad for anyone who purchased the ad free version of this app.

I was excited that this app would let me translate pictures, but everytime I pressed the crop option and waited for it to finish scanning, it keeps repeating the phase: "Something went wrong, please try again!" PLEASE fix this problem.

The translations were awful and sometimes didn't even show letters just numbers. The only upside was the interface which in itself was covered in ads, half the languages were locked behind a pay wall. I wouldn't recommend this app to anyone.

I wanted to use this app for translating Japanese however it never seemed to work at all. In fact when I came on today just to give it another shot Japanese was removed from the list of available languages. Even worse, half the languages require a played version and you don't just pay off a language to use it, you are fee'd for a limited number of uses (200, 400, 600, etc). Not worth it. Might as well leave translations to Bixby.

The app has stayed on " loading your data, please wait!" For a long time now. All I wanted to do was translate something but it wont let me because it's been" loading my data" for over 20 minutes... I've tried restarting the app and I've tried uninstalling it and re installing it but the app is still stuck on "loading your data."

Absolutely useless with Georgian + awful first impression when you open application for the first time. They highlight some parts to show how user could use the app' interface and features though!! If there's a camera icon I understand that it's there to take a snap!!!! Annoying that you should see ang go through the whole tutorial.

Life saver. I tried the app a few times. The pop up ads are annoying so paid for a month. It's super cheap and really worth it. I got no ads anymore and as a person with dietary restrictions being able to read labels in Japanese has been a life saver. It has worked very well!! I really recommend it if you are going to Japan.

As someone who has been using this app for over a month now, I can reassure those who may consider this as an another clickbait app because it is not and even surpassed my expectations of what free apps could be out there. Easy interface and accurate camera.

Too many pop ups which makes you have to start over. Using a picture seldom gives accurate translation, meaning same picture will give a different translation each time so you basically have to try one word at a time if translating a sentence or caption. Time consuming.

Its easy to understand, as soon as you focus camera on word it translates that saves times. Sometimes it is confusing as you see both languages at the same time. Also you don't have to type the word. That's great.

Compared to the other camera translator apps, this one is amazing!! The ads are minimal (pretty much only while the translations load), and it shows you the picture's text written out so you can copy, edit, re-write it, etc as it translates!! This is awesome!

The app translates the image pretty well. There are no glitches in the translation. Also, it actually will capture the text from the image and provide translation for the same. Quite convenient and it was a good experience.

Tooo many ads, after every single picture there is an ad and then sometimes after watching the ad it doesnt even translate. So far it has only worked once and every other time it just shows me ads with no translation. Will have to delete and find another app sorry.

Really professional and super useful! It can be a little bit odd on some translations and pick up things that arent actually letters but its never actually been an issue as its always obvious and only ever happens very rarely. 100% reccomend this really convenient and useful. 💕
