Have used this app for quite sometime now and found the quality of the app up and down but what really bugs me is that the camera has to be online to be able to do anything would be nice if you could reset or reboot or even change to a different network without the camera being online.
Does not need any stars, always losing connection, buffering and cannot be used instantly. Have to reset every day. Useless app, will not recommend for anyone. Update, May 29 th, nothing was fixed.
Needs work. I turned of notifications for this app and the result was it won't triger to rec vid unless I get 1k messages of notifications a day. I want it to record but I don't want a thousand notifications daily saying the cameras been triggered. I've tried going into my phones settings and turning off notifications but somehow that stops the motion detection from working and stops rec & deletes sd card . So I turned notifications back on my phone and tried turning off notifications no work.
The app has difficulty connecting to my 4 cameras even though there is plenty of wifi signal strength. There should be a way to refresh or restart the app to connect with the cameras without rebooting the phone. After a few seconds of viewing, you get "Network anomaly," and camera disconnects, why? This even happens to cameras close to the router. The app web developer URL address sets off unsafe alarms when trying to reach. In the future, this app, and products using it, should be avoided.
After the update i have not been able to turn off motion detection. The camera keeps turning fully to the right and i am not able to manually move it from my phone. I dont think its a problem with the camera, i believe that this happened after the update.
Works ok, could do with a smarter interface, but overall works, camera setup needs to be done first using hard wired connection, then go into app and setup wifi, internet cable can then be disconnected, the app dhould then work controlling your camera through wifi.
With last update can no longer make any video adjustments...all settings for all cameras grayed out. Also, just purchased new phone...in the process of migrating apps from old phone to new I learned that, unfortunately, this app does NOT retain ANY camera data (except image adjustments)so I had to reload ALL cameras back into app...what a nightmare. Dev, can you make this more like the Dericam app? It retained ALL camera data including passwords and ID numbers. Easy peasy.
The app works ok but there are a few issues that I wish could be fixed. 1. The aspect ratio of the camera is not maintained and so looks odd in both portrait and landscape orientations. 2. Swiping to pan and tilt is opposite of what you would expect. Swiping right to left pans left, swiping top to bottom tilts down. At least make this a setting to allow invert the behaviour. 3. The digital zoom is very slow. Pinch to zoom like in the regular camhi app would be nice.
I researched a fix and it wants me to do a complete reset of my phone! This application is a huge turd. The camera connected to this application is decent but useless without the application.
Just to view or connect I have to restart my phone even if I've used the app minutes before. When we first installed these cameras I could enlarge the pictures with just a pinch on the screen. Now it's not so easy. Swipe to another page then press the + sign! Really? That's one step back surely. I used to really like these cameras and app, but not any more. I think it's only time before we throw these out as it's not much security if you have to wait to restart your phone to see who's outside.
Terrible connection! Never connected, have to go unplug and replug cameras in.. wish I could send them back.
Does almost what I need but ok would be good to set camera positions on app for certain times of the day so the camera automatically moves to the areas set using the app, you can set presets on the app for camera positions but would good good to be able to set these positions so camera moves at certain times to cover different areas..
I bought four of these cameras they all stopped working within 2 months. Amazon refuses to return them or provide any support whatsoever. They were approximately $70 each with tax. All four cameras are totally useless will not connect will not move any attempt to communicate with the cameras automatically disconnects from the network. I have ATT fiber very good fast connection.
(Update do my old review) my microphone on the camera is so weak you can hardly hear anyone screaming directly into the microphone from outside, power connection and Wi-Fi are streamline and 100% but still, I can barely hear anyone screaming into the camera mic outside) anomaly keeps popping up camera will not stay online and my Wi-Fi is 100%.
Latest upgrade is rubbish. When you press to expand the view to landscape you get a small picture in the corner of the screen which is smaller than the original. Not impressed.
is it possible to add IR control via app. IR control appear at camera UI at image setting page. but image setting page is not available in app
Well, I had this app working fine on my Alptop AT-200DW camera -- they recommend it in their manual -- while the camera was on LAN in my office, and on WLAN also in my office... but now that I've moved it to the back yard, I can still talk to it through its web interface, and pull video with VLC... but the app, while it will find it's GUID to add, won't then connect to it and run it, which I can't fathom. No reply from Alptop; hopefully the dev has an idea. Tried the non-Pro version, exactly the same -- sees the cam by GUID and will add it, but won't connect to it.
This app has gone from strength to strength and is currently a very stable and capable tool, thank you for developing and maintaining this.
No not update!! Was working great before I did update now kicks me out after a minute or two of viewing camera..now glitches and skips when viewing cam... I was able to watch cam all day long with no problems before update...BAD UPDATE
If it were possible to give this a zero, I would! We've had nothing but issues which have become progressively worse over the past few months. - "network anomaly" - "camera not online" - unable to zoom - time setting has to be changed every time before use, which subsequently effects the pre-recordings. - when the camera does decide to work it takes too long to open And the list goes on. What a waste of money, this is the most useless camera/app we have!
