Canada Breaking News & Local News For Free

It's nice to have an app that brings in Canadian content, but, frustrating with the trolls that treat this like a social media platform rather then a news platform. It would be nice to have some better rules on the posters to keep false and unproven information off of the site.

pretty much pure liberal propaganda. good to find out what is going on but this is purely from a hard core liberal viewpoint only. I see headlines here then Google to find the real story.

Only day two with this app but liking it so far. Great feeds of relavent stories. Seems easily customizable. Have had the app for a week now. Still very happy with the feeds but not happy with all the alerts and the seemingly inability to turn them off. I have tried everything in settings but none of the things I set stay set. They just revert back to previous settings. I reached out to the developers but no response after two days. I don't want to turn my sound off of my phone overnight and that seems to be the only option to not have sleep interrupted. Unfortunately, looks like I will be deleting the app.

needs some separation between stories otherwise it's a good app

absolute great app I actually have family still in Canada the Nova Scotia area so Canada is sort of like my second home you guys do a great job

nice app gives not only news but all your favorite programs and movies.

I can't follow any one it's always show you have reached your limit try and fixed it up for me what should I do tell me

if more people used this app and more people made updates I feel it would be easier to find out what affects us specifically and before it happens ya know

I had this app for awhile. Found it interesting at first, but I am now deleting for numerous annoying reasons... 1.) Often the news articles are short and end without a closure, so you expect to read more once you scroll down through multiple adds, but find nothing more on the subject! 2.) Too many adds! And a 30 second add before you can watch ANY news video clip! 3.) Videos take too long to load and play! When you turn your phone sideways the video dissappears!Bumps you back out to home screen!

easy to read and easy to use up to date

Liked the articles mostly. But I see fewer conservative articles than I used to. And the ads are horrid. Tried getting rid of them and it doesn't let me upgrade. Opens up Google play and fails. Having to wade through ads to see a real article (since the ads look like and pretend to be articles unless you notice the little tiny ad sign...is just ridiculous..uninstalling. I'll be installing another app instead.

Omgosh l innocently downloaded as l read news daily. I had to take my phone to several repair shops. This app took control & downloaded other apps, then left 3 in constant download mode. This quickly put my data bill over, costly frigin mess. BEWARE!!!!! The difficulty in finding the cause was it was hard to figure out which app caused problems, as l didn't find the error for awhile. Really intrusive ads, also direct linking to a play store install of an advertiser when you hit back after reading an article. WTH... Updated response to dev, I get it that you need money but an ad should not be intrusive or disruptive, especially to the extreme of pushing me to the play store. A fair number of news websites have figured out a nicer balance, as has Microsoft News app which I've switched to.

Please offer a paid version of your app. Inundated with ads mixed in to look like stories. Finish the app so that the local stories option works. Full page ads that are intrusive about your clientele and they will look elsewhere for their new. Already too many apps that don't offer paid versions that are overrun with advertisements or don't offer the choice to buy but, instead, want you to purchase within. I'm all for paying for a useful app that delivers without sticking a hand out.

I never miss breaking news now. But it is also annoying to see so many notifications when there is breaking news. And the annoying ad pops up when I try to close the app and it won't let me close the app until the ad is finished playing. It is free app so what can I expect.

Loaded with advertisements. Even when exiting...full page advertisements with audio show up. I use it for breaking news notifications but, read news on other app cause if i open breaking news in this app...i will be seeing more of advertisements (even when trying to exit). Only way I can exit (this this app even disables back and mute buttons) is by killing it using active app buttons. Terrible interface (decent content)

Ads/sponsored content needs to be delibeated more clearly - the real news can get mixed with the sponsored rubbish too easily - I can tell fairly easily, but I'm a skeptical sort. The mobile data setting is a bit ambiguous - I'd guess similar to most news aggregators, but it should be stated more clearly....

Too many ads. Uninstalled. Response to the developer: It was because of the abundance of intrusive advertising that the app did not meet my expectations. It seems like a decent app if not for the ads, it's disappointing that you need to farm out that much space on your app to cover the costs of developement/profit.

Latest news to be read pops up very frequently. Information is good. Would have preferred to have an option to reduce frequency of alert on the app especially when I am at work. Keep up the good work! Looking forward to better features ahead.

Unfortunately this app provides very little in the way of real news. I estimate well over 1/3, approaching 1/2, of the stories are sponsored content. One star is too generous. Apps like these are degrading our ability to not only recognize what is real news, but our ability to report on it. Not worth the time required to install it.

Every time you leave the app to check on something else, you loose your place in the news article you are reading; making it necessary to re-enter the article and scroll through it until you find where you were. Annoying!

I like the headline news; as soon as it happens and is recorded, right on my tablet. I like that, I have the choice of several different headline news stories, from around the world, in which to pick from, to read which ever story/stories that are of interest to me. I would like to thank you; to those, whom created this app. And sign, the thank you with a 💖 from from a happy consumer 👱‍♀️

Pretty solid, but should add to the front of headlines what province it's from. Unless the goal is getting people to click on news that has nothing to do with them. The ads after closing a link can be pretty abrupt as well.

Way too many ad's. Tried for a week to use the news feed but couldn't get through all the annoying ads. Perhaps a low fee for an ad-free experience would be an option I would try.

Very very flawed, alot of problems from history blinking in and out to not being able to delete certain items, it needs alot of work. Also is full of idiots and women and men messaging from some other area? trying to get money from you....dont bother downloading, its useless if i could give it a minus 5.... I would.

Too much ads Front page shows you interesting news. You press one news, then it shows just the heading with some words followed by lots of ads, asks for to press continue reading, after reading you exit that page then automatically pops up ads.
