Canada Weather & Radar

Radar still not showing for Carvel Weather station. This app has easily been the best for years. With Carvel having an upgrade, it was offline at no fault to the developer obviously. It's been back online since January 19. The app still doesn't link to it. Very frustrating. Otherwise 5 but this is definitely frustrating. I tried contacting the dev. The email bounces back as not found. 😐

This was my favorite weather app but now it is apparently abandoned. Too bad. It still operates but without updates. It is accumulating bugs and that is eroding its user experience. As radar sites are being upgraded by Environment Canada the data feeds to the app stop working. Again, too bad. I liked this apps user interface. The app creator has moved on (thank you for all your time and effort) but its time I moved on too.

Would be nice if the home page widget showed updated current weather when phone is opened, rather than unspecified old info. Doesn't seem to be any way to achieve that. Also, radar map does not necessarily show closest area, not sure why. Developer email contact doesn't seem to work, so no way to ask about these things. Otherwise, it's fine.

It was good, but from about March the Kingston radar disappeared. I tried to contact the developer, but did not get any answer and the app not changed, no update, completely abandoned. Pity, because it had the most reliable radar picture, especially for winter was very useful. Please bring it back!

usually the app works really well but if I have to restart my phone the app doesnt work and if I remove and re-add to my home screen it doesnt always work. a little frustrating. I would have rated a 5 because it's a very accurate app but I have given a lower rating due to the lack of it working after a restart on my phone.

Decent app, but very slow to update when radars aren't working. There are 3 in my area right now that you have to open in a browser instead of in the app, and it's been more than a year with no fix. Weather warnings have also stopped working, and it would be nice to be able to rearrange the cities list.

Best weather app. Clear, easy, fast and uses very little memory. And best of all - NO ads !! Well done. Still the best weather app out there. People are mentioning that the radar is not available. That is because Environment Canada is upgrading many of Canada's weather radar sites so no radar images are available.

Carvel radaer is back online after some upgrades, I have attempted to contact the developer to have it added back to the app, as per the email provided but comes back "postmaster undeliverable" doesn't seem like this app is being maintained anymore which is a shame, because it was very useful

My fav weather app for accuracy, but it often has issues with blank widget or some other glitch so I can't give 5 stars. The developer often fixes issues soon and sometimes issues are external. For example one of our radar towers was down for months making rain predictability much less accurate. I'm guessing the XML error happening now is because the feed he depends on likely changed formats.

Beautiful, clean, ad free access to environment Canada forecasts and data. Unfortunately the developer hasn't updated in a while and the radar stopped working. I keep hoping they might have time to fix it one day. Thankfully the rest still works fine for now.

Was great and contains no ads, but recently it just stopped auto refreshing, now have to click into the widget to refresh the weather info, so kind of pointless. Apparently many other users have the same issue. So will uninstall it for now, and maybe try it again later when they have fixed the bug.

Best weather app if you're in Canada eh! Seriously. If you live in Canada and want clean un-AD-orned weather, you need to try this app and delete the others that have pesky ads with a tiny bit of weather. Ads that consume your data plan. Just get the app.

Nice app that doesn't use up much space. I especially like the radars and how they can be customized more than other weather apps but the reason for the three stars is because of the widget. It doesn't stay updated. I have to go into the app to get the widget to update. What's the point of having the widget available if a person has to go into the app each time to refresh it?

Simple and straight to the point. Not groundbreaking but efficient. But... every time I reboot my phone, the widget won't show and I have to remove the widget and re-add/reconfigure it... This is really annoying, sadly. Else, this app would be a good 5 stars.

Fantastic app. Timely and accurate. Straight from Environment Canada, which is where most other apps get their info before "reinterpreting" it. My issue is with the widget, which keeps randomly dissapearing (only the words "canada weather" remain) from my homescreen. Using on a Pixel 3.

Awesome app, check it every day more than once. Georgian Bay weather, if you don't like it, just wait five minutes. Aug. 15/2019 update. Still a great app for checking the weather, but the radar part of this app does not work very good. sometimes it flashes and other times it is just not there, just shows a white page. Found a better app, uninstalled this one.

The "go to" application and very well done. Recommended for travellers. Easy, simple and no ads. Lately however, the radar images are not displayed. Hopefuly, there will be updates and fixes.

Was good... Does not work anymore. Like so many people, I get the "internet connectivity error" even after reinstalling twice. The Environment Canada app won't work on older devices, so this was my go-to. Please fix it

This WAS a great app for local Doppler radar, but portions of the loop are either missing or there is nothing but a white screen. Consider the WGRZ app for local weather. It can be customized and is more reliable.

Gave it one last shot and installed current version. Widget only updates when you run the app so it's useless unless you want to see what the temperature was the last time the app was used. Pity because it used to be the best.

an excellent app which emulates the local TV and CBC weather reports. No longer have to tune in to CBC or CTV to get the local weather. very accurate and always up-to-date, includes weather statements and weather warnings.

Excellent and very useful utility. Simply laid out, uncluttered appearance and its text is sparse but straight to the point. I prefer it hands down compared to the Weather Network or Accucast applications.

EXCELLENT APP. I would pay for this app. No sensationalist BS, just straight up weather. In general weather reports are wrong, but this app seems more accurate when compared side by side against the more well known ones!! THANK YOU.

I have asked the developer twice to enable a zoom feature on the app for the benefit of those who have trouble with their vision. He did not bother even to acknowledge my emails. I am removing the app.
