Purchased this camera a few months ago without any issues. Connects to Wifi effortlessly. But now forwarding onto present day??? It disconnects itself without being able to reconnect itself back up again via the app. It disconnects instantly as soon as it detects motion. No issue getting connected, but doesn't have the ability to stay connected. Useless!!!
I had the premium service but I didn't really use it so I tried to cancel it 10 days before the renewal. The cancel didn't go through and they charged my account anyway. I requested a refund and they say they can't give me one because there is no record of an attempted cancelation. The worst part is I canceled because I didn't have the money in the account. Canary spent 10 days making 5 attempts to charge my account and all failed due to insufficient funds but the last one went through. Crooks!!
App crashed today. Sent report and await email response. Years ago they had live Support no longer. To be fair this has been a good product. Three stars will go up or down depending upon the way this issue is handled I've been very happy up until now with Canary. I have a hunch it will be uninstall reinstall to solve problem let's see what happens.
It's a bait and switch product. They keep reducing the amount of options and perks in order to get people to subscribe to their $100 a year plus subscription service. Starting in a month, they are eliminating person detection in the free plan. Don't buy this product, reliability is questionable, and they will continuously harass you for your money for a subpar product. Let this company sync to the bottom where it belongs. With the rest of the price gougers.
Seems like everytime this app updates or there is a firmware update something breaks. Now my temperature and humidity doesn't display. May be minor to you but these are in a server area and I depend on this. New app ui could use a dark theme like the last app.
Great picture, but is very slow to react to motion. If you do not subscribe they only save your videos for a few hours after you look at them. I had a burglar a few nights ago and he managed to turn the lights on in the room without the camera going off.
Useless, now it just doesn't even work anymore. Just shuts down and says app isn't working. Stuck on loading. If I go to profile or settings and look around it kicks me off of it The fact that now I can only watch a video within a 3 hour mark is ridiculous and greedy. You want to do things like that, you just push customers away to a different brand. Wish I never bought this and bought Arlo instead
Using the free service is not great. It records events but you 3 hours to connect and check on them. There appears to be no notifications. And it appears that they will respond which is good
New display doesn't appear correctly. Can't see full tile of camera. Can't reorganize tiles to display better. If get rid of all the tiles off I could. No easy to remove them. Canary is a good camera with terrible app now. Give me the previous app back
DO NOT PURCHASE A CANARY It does not work, stopped working months ago They need better developers. It no longer opens on my S10 and it has issues all the time, won't open, takes long to load, blank timeline and support thinks waiting to hear back is acceptable. AVOID AT ALL COSTS - DO NOT BUY Looks like the crashing is back after the April 1st update. GET BETTER ANDROID DEVELOPERS
My canary had been working fine for the past few years. Now it keeps dropping connection to my router. Once connected back the android app on my phone crashes after login in and the iPhone app just spins.....myninternet is fine so that it not the issue.
The banner telling me a camera is offline is blocking access to the menu, I cannot dismiss the banner as this takes me to the process to get the camera back online which does not work because I need to be at home to do this so if I am away this is actually a useless warning that lowers the functionality of the app. Please fix the software, it used to work fine, now its awful, this problem happens both on the Pixel 2 and S7 tablet
3 hours to view/ bookmark footage is not long enough, especially in the case of an emergency. Please change this Canary. Free users deserve better. What's the point of having a part time security camera? Until this update has been corrected, I suggest getting a Wyze Cam instead.
So far so good. Camera takes good video and notifies me of any activity in the room. I have a nosy sibling who likes to sneek in my room so I got the camera for that plus to check on my cat. After being notified a bunch of my cats movement I put a mask on certain parts of the room. The only thing I would like to change or figure out is to get my camera to record automatically whenever I leave my room because it only records when I leave the house. I know I can manually do it but I'd like to auto
This app & the products that it's for are GARBAGE. Like so many tech devices nowadays,it worked okay for a few months & after a zillion updates, it began to have connection issues with the app giving me the connection error messages constantly however the router's app showing the Canary as connected. After attempting to solve the issue several weeks, I decided to just take the loss, throw away the Canary & delete the whole account. If you're looking for RELIABLE, then don't bother with junk.
Bought a Canary remote camera on promotion. I was foolish to assume it had a built in battery; or anything positive. If it's not plugged in, it does not work. It's heavy and feels like it should have a battery. The extra weight must be the pound of flesh they got from me. Never had ads before. Now I get them all the time; especially when remote. Used to get 2 days of video without subscribing; now I'm lucky if I get one. They nag you to subscribe to services that are free with other cameras.
I never had a problem with the 1st camera, but I recently added 2 more cameras and now I can only watch live views. When it does record anything it disappears the next day, never to be seen again!! Very disappointing 😞
This is only good upon purchase. l thought this was a great device...in the be beginning. Now it won't connect. Nothing has changed except the products dependability and ease of use in app. Nothing proves to be helpful in troubleshooting. It has been a greater part of year without access to my device. I had even upgraded in Hopes that it would strengthen the reliability...Waste of time and money in my experience!
