Candy Box 2

Candy Box is an ASCII-themed role-playing idle-game, ported from HTML5 to Android (but still HTML5 :p).
Go for the adventure, discover all quests, weapons, choices, NPCs, spells, boss, resources and prepare yourself for many surprises!

You begin by getting candies, which are represented by a counter ticking up. As you eat candies, parts of the game begin to unlock, beginning with a save button. You can also buy things with your candy supply in the village shop. Clicking MAP in the task bar will open it, allowing you to explore the town. Minimizing it means you can eat more candy!

[Start of the game]The player starts off with the Candy counter and the classic button "Eat all the Candies" with the keyboard shortcut of "E". After the player recieves 10 or more candies the player gets the button "Throw 10 candies on the ground" with the shortcut "T". After throwing 1630 candies you earn a chocolate bar. However, if the player has the patience and recieves more than 30 candies, a new button appears "Request a new feature to the developer (30 candies)". Once the player clicks this button, a status bar is unlocked above, and replaces the button with "Request another one (5 candies)". After you click this button you are able to change the language on the status bar, and when the player clicks "Request once again (5 candies)", a save tab appears, and another button "Request for something more exicting (5 candies) you recieve a health bar. Once the player clicks "Final request! This one has to be worth the candies. (10 candies)" you recieve a map tab in the status bar.

All thanks to Aniwey for this game and ASCII art authors!

You can get around the frustrating port. It was a game for the internet. ... long story short it was meant to be controlled with a keyboard. Does your device have a keyboard? Then you shouldn't have any trouble figuring it out. If however you are only using a touch screen... you might find trouble progressing through the more difficult battles in the game. I use a galaxy s4 and sometimes "fat finger" the wrong buttons.

As many other reviewers have stated, this game was designed to play on a computer. On a smartphone screen, there is not enough space, so it jumps around during vital moments, and the buttons are so small I often either hit the wrong one, or have to confirm which one, by which time the character has died. Tbh, the game is also pretty boring. I much prefer A Dark Room.

I spent time beating it once, and I got to the computer. Thankfully I have a Bluetooth keyboard so I was able to use it. But, when I use it, it crashes, and every time I open it, it crashes. So I started a new game, and did everything again, only to have it happen again! Also the buttons are too small, even on a tablet, and my phone has a large screen.

Fun, but play on a computer. Buttons too small to click accurately and screen often jumps about during quests so that you cannot click a particular button. Computer is not usable (cannot press Enter on the keyboard because the phone doesn't have one and the soft keyboard cannot be brought up at this point).

Every aspect of the game is great except for the fact its optimized for a pc and not a phone. The buttons are too hard to press accurately on a phone and when I do press them nothing happens. If they were larger or more responsive and the tilt sensitivity worked a little better the movement related quests would be completable and this would easily be a 5 star game

After beating the game, you unlock the computer, but, on phone version there is nowhere to enter a code so you can not have fun with it so then the witch hat for 1 billion lollipops is unattainable. And I would of played this game for a lot longer if I could of had fun messing with the game.

I get that this was made for PC, and simply ported, but I would love if there was actually some thought put into making the controls easier. It's almost unplayable after a certain point because you cannot use magic reliably. I think I'll just stay on pc and not feed my addiction on android

You're better off running this through chrome than downloading the app. Disappointed with the ending, since I can't use the computer in the app, but I should have expected it since the port is exactly the same, and not optimized for phones at all, besides tilting, which doesn't work well. I still recommend playing on computer.

Switched to a different app for about 15 seconds, lost 5+ hrs of progress. Not worth playing without the auto save feature from the web version.

Best game i have seen so far. Suprisingly fun when you get deeper into it. All i miss is the spoon, i have the enchanted version but not the normal one.

The mobile port is unplayable. Constantly resets you back to the beginning so you lose all progress. An idler game where you can't idle because candies only increment when the device is awake and the game is the active app. Intrusive ads that force the game to the foreground. Skip this and play it in a browser.

Because I like unique games, I thought I would give it a try. However there are no instructions to this game. Do you know how long I kept picking up the cookies on the floor and dropping them off? Not long because the game is stupid give some directions on how to play the game

So cool! The graphics are cool too cuz they're only simbols/letters/numbers and it's funny the guy when you throw the candies xD

The ads break this game. Every time an ad comes up or your phone screen times out it reloads the game

Without the keypad you can play the game through just fine, but to use the developer's computer at the end still asks you to hit "enter". So some extra content is still just extra.

Save system doesn't work, and lollipops don't add up properly.

Game is great but it is difficult to play on a mobile. I think it needs some alterations before it should be played on the phone

Most of the times I lose progress ... why there's no autosave whenever you close the app or every few minutes?
