Login works just fine for me. The service is great and the UI is really nice, especially the web version. However, the auto upload feature seems really unreliable from my usage, and it doesn't upload in the background, you have to open the app. I also wish it would sync deletions just like Google Photos. Overall this is a really good app, but auto upload needs to work
Absolutely useless. I have been trying to use this software for two years now and despite many updates to the program it is still eratic at best. Auto-upload works sometimes, but never when it matters. You can manually upload but have to individually select every photo - you cannot manually upload a directory. It has fundamental bugs which are never fixed.
Disappointed. Its very slow to transfer to the cloud, auto uploads when it pleases, is missing the metadata in the info section, some photos and videos have disappeared and after transferring to your app the format and therefore quality is different. I need my raw original files. Ive had to trim videos to under 2GB to transfer them. Its poor to say the least, you should concentrate on improving one of the many similar portal cloud apps Canon. I would gladly pay for one that meets my requirements
This app won't stay open on my Amazon Kindle Fire HD. On launching the app, I get the Irista splash screen, and sometimes the "checking for images to upload" message, but then it immediately closes. I've cleared the cache and the app data, updated to the latest version(s) and uninstalled/reinstalled but have the same problem. I can use Irista via a browser on my Fire tablet, but can't do anything with the app.
Seems promising - doesn't work. UI is nice and easy to navigate and I can select photos to upload, but they never actually upload. It also seems to hang while apparently searching my phone for photos. Not much use for a photo back-up app that doesn't actually do anything.
This app is near on Perfect although it has one major flaw on "some" images, not all even though you input information in "Title" and "Caption" when you go to review later it says "SOMETHING WENT WRONG PLEASE TRY AGAIN LATER" yet on some it displays information perfectly and for me this is an important factor when organizing your photos.
On first launch of app, albums do not open when clicking cover image and exif info is missing. If i exit and restart it works. Also, when rotating screen from portrait to landscape photo changes to first one i opened (already logged this bug). i like Irista but the app is a bit buggy.
Easy to upload pictures and then organise in albums. But lacks some functionality, such as basic editing and it will not allow creations such as collages. From memory I think these functions are a available in the PC version.
Cannot sign in. It goes to the screen where you have to choose whether to sign in with email, fb or google account. Then it stops responding. It does not hang, but when you touch one if the options there is no reaction. Reinstalling or clearing the apps cache did not help.
exact same issue as reported by Maciej. The sign-in screen fails to respond to any input. re-install doesn't help. Updated 12Jun19: thank you, Canon, for your reply, but your solution to the app login problem (use Chrome as the default browser) is simply not a solution. I've got no idea why a standalone application would require me to use a specific browser. it's a pity, as i was enjoying the desktop version. I'll give it a miss until situation is properly resolved.
Recently the app has stopped uploading photos straight from my phone. I tried reinstalling the app but it didn't work. The only way to upload photos now is to transfer to a computer then do it over the browser. Please update the app to correct this.
Developers, I was very happy upon discovering Canon's Irista. Your promise to reply to comments is admirable. I thought this could be the perfect permanent place to keep my photos for my elderly parents to view. HOWEVER, there are no captions for each photo so I would have to relabel my photos. Therefore, please allow captions. Thank you. Dear Irista Team, thank you for your reply. Yes, manual sorting works! That's marvellous! Have a fantastic year!
Can't seem to get a smooth upload with probably nine out of ten attempts that will fail and nothing can be uploaded. In addition, it tends to freeze up a lot at login. I am on Android 9, Huawei EMUI 9 to be exact.
EDIT: auto upload does work, after some time, but doesn't give an indication that it is uploading. New account + fresh install. Auto-upload appears to not work.
Only one star because Canon are closing the app. One of the main factors for me and I imagine many others when buying my canon G7x mark ii was the availability of Irista. It is poor practice by Canon to now take Irista away. I've bought many Canon products in the past but not sure I can trust them in future. For the record Irista was a very useful and usable app.
Same problems as many other users. on Android open app and go to create Canon ID and page with use email/FB/Google options - nothing happens on clicking anything. If they had tested the app before release this would have been apparent.
created the account via browser and verified but the app version on my android phone does not work.I click on the sign up with email box but nothing happens.I un-installed and installed, cleared cache , memory.Still does not respond. The browser version redirects to app.
latest is definitely more stable. Why isn't the download to gallery option available when multiple photos are selected? Currently have to download it one by one by clicking into each photo to do that.
Pointless after latest update. Doesn't auto upload. Heck, can't even manually upload smallest of the file. Unbelievable that they give the same standard reply to everyone to write mail to developer
Doesn't auto upload, even though it's a setting option. Mine doesn't upload at all even when I take the time to individually choose photos to upload. No option to "upload all"
Upload speed is tedious! And there are various complications such as constant failed uploads and the option to view active uploads disappearing.
Simplicity is the main advantage over Flickr and Google. But there is no option to upload pix at screen resolution.
Canon have made a great job, the app doesn't have any problem, I'm so grateful with canon for the great technical support and for solve the latest problems.
Would like to ask why there is not any option to download images in a bunch when select more of them?? Otherwise I would rate it with at least 4 stars...
Canon did try to attract all passionate photographers and owners of Canon equipment through this app. I did trust them, spent days organising my pictures into albums, thinking this paying backup was for life... Then they did cancel it. Shame to Canon!!! I am so pissed I move now to Panasonic Lumix range, and dump my 5k Canon equipment... Shame on you...
The upload of photos is rather slow. Why there's no display of the crucial EXIF info in the 'details' option?
Great app. I have been using it for the past two months. There is just one thing: I noticed yesterday that the share and download buttons do not react. Please check this. :)
To be honest, it's a very good app. It is clean, minimalistic and runs smooth. It clearly compites with Google Photos. It would be nice to have a collapse button for collapsing the days. Also it would be nice to zoom in a bit more, some of my pictures are in RAW and i can only see a preview. Thats a shame. Looking forward for quick improvements and updates!
