Capitec Masterpass

Does its job. While it is always great to have an app that saves you from installing a few other ad-ridden apps, the devs really need to understand that splitting a bill is a RL thing and that adding a tip as a percentage or an amount isn't a frivolous use of a computer. The interface is also ugly. Hire an artist already.

Convenient, but lacks "split bill" functionality (for when dining out with friends). I can only pay the full billed amount and no less. Other apps like snaps can and zapper also generate tip amount automatically, but this app does not. These are quick fixes that will make it so much more convenient.

It's unsafe! I've used it on the odd occasion where the transaction failed to go through or it went off twice, which was rectified...I could deal with that. However, straight after my last use, 5 fraudulent transactions went off my account using the card details I had loaded on this app. I haven't used an atm in years and this app is the only app I had loaded my debit card. And also dissapointed with and lost trust in Capitec for the lack of feedback and not retuning all the money back to me.

I have a Capitec credit card that is linked to my credit account and my savings account. All my payments with masterpass run through the credit account. please add an option so that I can use my savings account instead. If it was not for this I would have definitely given it a 5 star rating. And maybe add an option to show my balance.

I'm not sure why the developers of this app says it is an upgrade, when they've actually REMOVED some features. Please bring back the Zapper option!! I loved the previous version of this app because I could make payments via Masterpass, SnapScan and Zapper, all from ONE app. Now I have to install an additional app just to make payments via Zapper. That's going backwards...not moving forward.

I think it is rubbish,made 4 attempts,to load my card,without success. I don't know why things are changed when it is working perfectly (the old app). You may lose me as a clientas I live in a rural area,where it is easier to access banking with a WORKING APP. The old app work 100% for me. Why change/fix something that are not broken or need change? I only give 1 star,as I am being forced to apply stars,to post this comment

The app is easy to set up and use. It asks for permission to make calls in order to verify your device, probably to make sure it's not a robot or something. Haven't used the app to scan Zapper and Snapscan QR codes yet, but will know if it works soon enough as I use QR codes frequently.

I don't trust this app even a bit looks quite dangerous, can't believe this is from Capitec and i didn't see any replies from Capitec conserning peoples problems here. The app rejects my profile password time and again after resetting also clearing my whole profile every time i reset the pass just to find again the app rejects my pass every time after resetting!!

Great concept but the app doesn't have a security wall. Purchased something and entered the incorrect pin accidentally and the purchase was still successful. Very shady! Anyone with access to my cellphone could use the app to purchase things.

It's a good App, but has a big room for improvements. This App has been there for a while now, but the App (or Capitec) still doesn't allow buying airtime via other Apps. Many time I have tried buying Airtime via Masterpass: There's always an error, or any airtime purchase from any of the networks.

Pretty average app. A little bit annoying that you cannot split a bill. Also doesn't seem very safe, without a pin or secure payment guarantee.

Absolute convenience. Great work developers! It would be even better to add the split bill feature but don't do it if it's going the break the current flawless version.

Haven't tried the App yet, but found it very easy to quickly add all my cards. MAIN ISSUE I came accross though is that I saw the NEED TO RENAME (Like a nick name) each account or each card as I have more than 1 card or account at each bank for multiple purposes and it is going to be a big issue to 1st have to figure out which card's which before using it....kind of totally missing the purpose of this hopefully amazing App. Fix and get a 5star from me.

What a total waste of my time! This app has no functionalities other than for the payment of accounts. Can't even access my bank account statement, bank balance or beneficiaries. And, despite all the negative reviews, Capitec chooses to be silent on the issue. I have deleted the app and will return to uploading it at a later date where, should the problem persist, I will have to move my banking elsewhere.

Have uninstalled as it has no value over the standard QR scanner in the Capitec App. Have now opened a Nedbank pay-as-you-use account. I can use Samsung Pay and Garmin Pay (tap phone and watch to make cardless payments), and pay a fraction of the banking fees I was paying with Capitec. This app and Capitec's failure to fulfill its promise to adopt Samsung Pay (which they said they were doing in 2018) helped me join Nedbank...so, I guess I should say thanks!!

This app is totally rubbish, you can't create a benefishery to pay your rent....totally rubbish....... not even worth a full star are there a 1/4 star. I also phoned capitec customer service, and the lady told me i must go into the bank (branch) to get the old app banking version, pathetic. The old version is not even on play store.

Hi. I have tried using this app at least 4 or 5 times but although the app claims it works eith snapscan codes, for instance today I tried paying a snapscan code but got an 'invalid code' error. After trying a few times I opened my snapscan app and paid immediately with snapscan. I was hoping to use the Masterpass app but sadly it doesnt work :(:( please fix this issue and let me know so I can try again oneday

It looks good but the fact that it's not secured,if you loose your smartphone anyone can just scan and shop around but it dosen't have an Option to sign it and out of the app which makes it more unsecure

Worst Been a week trying to open an account. "We are unable to process your selection. We are aware of the issue and aim to have it resolved" everyday I couldn't finish

I hate the app with all my heart. You can't even add beneficials to pay or transfer money to another capitec user. Tryed called they were also useless. I cant download the old app because " not valid for the phone im using" I'm so angry I'm leaving capitec to another bank.

Capitec Bank changed or updated their banking up. Then one gets advised that your phone needs to be upgraded to allow their new app to work. Rather than buy a new phone, I am considering moving my bank account. Surely with Capitec's client profile, customers can't be expected to have the newest tech phones in order to have the app on their phones. Who's bright idea was this?

Very good, the only challenge I'm encountered is some big shops like Game, Clicks, Chicken Licken, and some big restaurants and Fuel stations that doesn't allow or have or support Masterpass QR codes. I feel disappointed all the time.

This is not helpful it doesn't give all the things that the old version had I would like to see how much is in my account.....this snap scan might be easy for some people but I want the old version back please

The worst app ever the old version was by far better,cant even activate once downloaded,its totally useless really,rethink this app for real. Too many steps just to activate. Back to the stone ages please.

Very disappointed in this app. Previously it worked just fine. Since i updated my bank card this app refuses to work. Would not load new card or and othercard. It said in the ad that you can add up to 5 cards but it doent work. It would not even add 1. Not recomended at all. Im not happy Capitec Bank.

My account details have been hacked on your site. I received a notification when I opened the app that a payment was unsuccessful at 2am this morning. Not happy! I want my profile deleted. Please notify me that it has been done.

It's a cool app that makes it convenient for making payments. It would be even nicer if we could add more beneficiaries of our own apart from the few listed.

This app does not work, keeps on failing to link my card. I visited the branch and they also failed to activate my app, they advice me to buy a new phone or look for someone who is still using the old app kkkkkkk. Why should l change my phone which has been working with older app perfectly? Where will l get some with old app? Why does the developer of the downgrade also put the old app so that we have choice not forcing us to non working product, Can the bank buy me the phone??
