Capsule - Free Podcast Player & Podcast App

New and good podcast player that could be made better with a few tweaks. UI is very easy to navigate and easy on the eyes. Excellent selection of podcasts to choose from. What's missing is the following: 1) at the present time the user has no clue as to what episodes have been played unless the user physically marks the episode as played - it would be good to have played episodes greyed out in the Downloads section, and the Subscription section, and to have them automatically removed from the InBox once played so that doesn't get too cluttered. 2) Offer ability to download episodes from the InBox. 3) Ability to swipe screen to move back and froth from tab to tab is missing. Also, there is a glitch with adding a new subscription in that the podcast picture doesn't always show up in the subscription feed, but instead is a black square. If I close the app and reopen it, then it appears. Looking forward to enhancements that can make this app one of the best. Thank you!

It's small and nice! Unfortunately, it does not show the episode description in the podcasts (it could open the notes when we tap on an episode, not immediately playing). Also, it could allow more speed options, not only to the maximum of 2x. When the autosync is disabled, I don't see an option to sync all subscriptions manually. And the "support capsule" text gets out of the screen in my phone, I can't read it appropriately.

This has the potential to be really good. 1) Needs a way to expand episode info or even include a 3 line preview on episode cards. Play on tap is pretty annoying when you just want to find out what an episode is about. 2) Discovery tab is pretty much useless at this point since most categories include one or two podcasts at most ;( 3) Personally think some of the heading/subheading fonts are too large and give an impression of clutter. 4) Swipe left/right functionality for navigating tabs

I love the easy to use design and speed of this podcast player. it has no ads/clutter. If I think of suggestions, I would say having folders for our podcasts (e.g. "jogging", "games",etc.) Second, having a favorite button for episodes. Third, exporting to mp3. Last, an option to show description when tapping an episode. A bug report: the Games category in the Discover tab leads to an error message "You look lost". I can't locate the Exported OPML file. I've been holding onto this app for a while, and now it is finally fully featured with auto downloads. This is quite literally the best looking podcast app on the app store, and while occasional bugs pop up they get fixed very quickly, along with good feature updates. So happy with the dev's and their app! (Hopefully this is my final edit, because the bugs I mentioned in the last edit got fixed so fast I wanted to change this to reflect my opinions better)

I've just tested Capsule and I must confess you have one of the best UI I've ever seem in a podcast app. Very clean, well organized, nice font and customizable themes. Some important basic functionalities are missing, such as the sleep timer, trim silence, playlist creation and the inclusion of feeds from other countries. But please, keep up with the good work and I'll be glad to definitely adopt Capsule as my main podcast player! Congratulations!

I love that the app is private and has no ads. Just a warning to those with long queues: they disappear when you update the app. I wish there was a way to save the list of individual episodes in the queue. That and an option to check for new episodes on demand would make it almost perfect.

Only missing tags! I won't delete the app since I think this could be my new favorite podcasts player if it adds one feature which is an absolute deal breaker: having the ability to organize your subscriptions by tags/categories. It's so beautiful and smooth. Is this something that has been considered as a feature?

This is a very nice looking app. Everything is laid out very well . The only thing I couldn't figure out, is how often it updated. It updates but I'm not sure when. Otherwise it's very nice. I love the fact that the episode notes are very complete and include clickable links. Nice theme selection comes too. Had a style all it's own. I'm using it.

Minimal UI. One of the best I've tried so far. It does what it says. Most of the podcasts are available. It has inbox, themes and discover section. Just one suggestion : try to add more regions. But overall A great app for podcasts.

Hi, I think pause during weak network problem has been fixed by you, thanks. I have more to ask is that if there is an auto play function so you don't need to click one by one each time? And it's better if you chould add some free transcrip into one button choice. You are awesome, glad that I found you.

Love it! Clean UI with minimal feature bloat or unnecessary frills. My only (minor) request would be to allow for swiping away the persistent notification if a podcast is paused since I'll sometimes accidentally miss the X button on the notification and open the app instead of clearing the notification.

Can't believe I finally found a gorgeous looking player with all the important features (especially a sleep timer and a queue)! Good to see as well that the developers improve the app and communicate with users regularly. Keep it up! Thank you for your hard work!

So the UI is really clean and i love the inbox concept. What is not clear how ever is how to setup recuring downloads with subscriptions for offline listenning. Ill keep the app for a bit till i figure it out but with out offline autodownloading........ A great first step tho and a pro version for more coin in your pocket is also a wise option too.

so far i am really enjoying this app... i have been lookinh for new podcast app since bad updates from other app... i could give this five stars IF my Bluetooth devices could control playback... (fast forward and rewind do not work... only pause works)... i do all my listening via Bluetooth device... is real pain i can't control playback via these devices. this is forst podcast app i have tried that can't.

I like it for being a minimalist app but it is missing some important features like option to restrict downloads to WiFi and a quick access to downloads & current playing preferably next to the inbox at the bottom. I hope developer can add these changes to make it better useable app.

What a beautiful app! It needs some UI tweaks top make it usable, but it's a great start. It is the closest anyone has come to the best player in the app store, Podcast Republic. With better usability or could be the best.

This looks and feels great. I'm giving it 4 stars based on how well it works right now, the potential for this to be the best podcast app available, and the exceptionally nice guys behind it, who are working hard behind the scenes to bring new functionality!

Nice app, the only trouble is the dark text on a dark background in the dark theme. The podcast descriptions are therefore simply unreliable. EDIT: Any dark theme. The same with the podcast length info - too dark to read.

Ever since last update, player controls refuse to operate after another app temporarily takes control of audio. I now have to constantly kill and restart the app. Update: As promised, developer has corrected the issue.

So far im going to give it 5 stars. Fully functional app. Unlike google podcast app. You can control it without a sister app or extra services. They dont fload you with adds. They make it customizable. Without it being to much to deal with. The GUI I nice. Clean.

Was my absolute favorite podcast app, but the last update broke it. Crashes when I tap on any episode to play. UPDATE: Issue fixed. Everything great now.

Absolutely sweet application. Very simple and effective. I love the fact that it sorts new episodes by dates in a stack. The queue is also amazing! Good job there!

Pretty great so far; does what it says quickly and easily. Sometimes I wish there was a back arrow at the top for easier navigation.

It's a good app but it needs work this app needs to be able to cross sink with other devices if you could add that I might be able to rate it better.

Love the interface! But it would be even better if you guys can add sound booster aside from playback speed adjustment
