Car dashdroid-Car infotainment

Absolute garbage. First the good: It looks good. The music player works. The bad: Besides the music player, this app doesn't integrate with the car. Hands free calling? Not functional. Navigation? Not functional. Voice commands? Not functional. I bought a 1 year subscription to not see ads based upon what was good. What's bad makes this app garbage. Don't get sucked in.

App has been great for me these past few months. Truly a great car home screen. However, the latest update appears to be killing waze when I try to launch it, even from my normal launcher. This is a deal breaker. Please fix this problem or I will have to uninstall, and I'd really rather not. I've searched for a useful car home screen like this for so long and was so happy when this worked perfectly.

Needs work, needs to support "car mode" instead of trying to take over the UI all the time, constantly flips around and have to enter my pin instead of being able to use my fingerprints. needs to allow for additional icons on main screen for phablet size devices, too much wasted space. Need the ability to control the chosen music player from the main screen. Compass should have mode for N, NE, E, SE, S, SW, W, NW instead of just an arrow pointing north. I did like the weather display.

I have the premium version. I like this app but it would be nice if the widgets were more configurable e.g. I don't need to see the weather or the date and time etc. Instead it would be nice to have larger music player controls or perhaps a more sophisticated compass. Otherwise it does just fine for me .

Do not sign up for the pro trial unless uou can remember to cancel it if uiu do not want to pay. There is no reminder to let you know that the trial is about to expire. But other than that its not a bad app, could use some improvements though. The auto text doesnt work for me, which is the main thing I was looking for. So without that, the app is pretty much useless for me.

I have tried I think all of them. Some fight with the built in features of my truck's system. This one does just what I want without interfering. My truck reads the incoming text messages. Dashdroid handles apps and navigation. They play nicely together across the board. ONE criticism: The current temperature display isTOO SMALL. It should be one of the choices for the function of the header widget, please. Cannot read the temperature safely while driving.

Some of the feature can't operate properly. Mainly on speedometer. Initially is OK. After sometime it suddenly not moving. Same goes to day & night mode. Sometimes it doesn't work accordance to the period. Phone book also another issue. If phone book can't show contact person name, what is the purpose

OVERALL, a VERY GOOD app with an attractive, but still simple-to-use UI. Easy and Quick set-up process. EDIT 12/28/19:: Now includes SMS "read" option which is another nice convenience. Still no MessengerLite yet, but FB is the Devil, anyway....lol. STILL would like to see a larger compass and/or directional stats to round out the home screen. Very Nice Work!!!!

When i enable "read out loud" it gets stuck in that mode even when im not using the app. Having to turn it on and off is very inconvenient! Fix this and 5 stars for sure because i like the layout and the options/settings. Also has setting to keep the action buttons off but once i enter any app they are on.

Paid for premium a few years ago, now wants me to pay extra subscription. No thanks. Used to be perfect, now the app will not automatically launch when phone connects to car bluetooth, app icons won't load and show as generic green android robot icons and the home button no longer takes you to app home screen when in use, takes you to the phone home screen. Tried to contact the developer on several occasions without luck, you'll notice the dev hasn't responded to any reviews, tells you a lot.

Just downloaded the app. Was looking for something similar to the HTC Car app (that app doesn't work with my new phone). So far the layout, usability and customization options on this app are meeting, or exceeding expectations. Gonna have to try it out for a while before giving a definite opinion. Looking good though. Will update my review in the future. Update: Have had the app for a few months now and it is excellent. So many options to set it up the EXACT way you want. Very satisfied.

Just another car mode but even less functionality than other apps that need to be unlocked by buying the full version, plus there are some some poor English messages in some places and even though Waze is set as the default navigation app I still have to use the built-in Google Maps looking module to search for places.

Best adaptable Car Home Screen app that I have tried. Trying to find one that would use my VoIP app for all calls and texts but no luck yet as it defaults to my cell number which is pay as you go so I don't use it ever over my data and VoIP. But you can add any app on the secondary screen and go from there. 1 more star if the main screen was also adaptable. 1 more star if music icon has none of my downloaded songs from google but just add app on 2nd screen and they are there, 1 less star.

Just as bad with voice commands as nigh on all the other in car apps. Pressing the voice command button to send a text or WhatsApp message just gets the response "Sorry, can you repeat please" Text messages are not read out to you whilst driving, so for me this app is useless. Glad there is at least a free version to test before spending my money.

Install and use without a single thought. Even paying for it will not pinch you. You may use with ADs also, but I bought it after 10 minutes of use. Because I understood its the beat app and I meed its full features. Hats off to developers. I was exactly looking for it. Thanks a lot for extreme level cuatom settings. My phone bcome my full car infotainment unit.

This app is great but I found a bug and have not heard back after emailing the developer. Don't use the option for custom folders. If you change an app the icons get all messed up and you can't fix it unless you reinstall

Ok..would give it a 5 star if when a text message is read, (when the music app is playing, I use Samsung music app) it is paused so you can be able to hear message, when hands free. Also when you reply to message, that your message is not sent back to you. I purchased a bluetooth gadget to use handsfree on my 2005 Ford. Everything in my truck is manual with a 6 cd player.

Easy to use and clear display. Great hands free experience. Maybe would be nice to have an in app icon to return to main screen without swiping down notification screen. Would give 5 but has a problem after changing contacts to WhatsApp. Can't change back to default no matter which option I take.

music player widget is not working just clicks but worked fine last week ,auto launch works sometimes ,night day doesn't work ,read out text doesn't work ,now I paid for the add free version so I could use a custom music player now I'm sure if I u n install reinstall I will lose the premium version ,so atm this is basically a useless app for me & will have to uninstall soon if these problems are not rectified asap ,this could be the best dashboard app if you just got rid of all the bugs

Better than Android Auto as can now use Sygic navigation app but could improve if the app had its own larger home button instead of using phones home button to go between music, contacts etc which Android Auto has. That one small change would get an extra star rating.

Using it as a big-text launcher, no need for reading glasses while driving! There is no option to save or restore the setup, which would be a very useful improvement.

Drivingmode app craps on this. I wanted this app for music while driving. This won't let me use Samsung music with widgets. So it's pointless. The built in music app won't let me search by artist. Get drivingmode!

Is this App still supported? There has not been an update since Android 10 and some features no longer work. Tried several times to contact developer with no luck. I've used paid version almost every day for years. Now I'm hunting for a good replacement.

driving is now easier???? how does this app do that??? does it control the vehicle? steer, accelerate, brake, or manuever the apparatus? I doubt it. it's more like a distraction from task at hand. well, now that I've pondered it a second it does make driving easier, now I don't have to pay close attention to my cars path. I can use this app to divert my attention

The features of this app are superb, 5*, but it's so power hungry that it discharges whilst charging. Second issue is it won't stop without doing a forced stop in settings. Pity as operationally this is by far the best app and I'd buy in an instant.
