A simple idea, very well executed. Not sure what max database size is, could a future version have subsets based on food types? Another suggestion would be to have food items entered with a typical carb value per quantity, rather than just the default per 100g weight. I realise that this maybe less accurate but in some instances you may not have access to scales & some foods are listed as per individual unit. Great app, well done 😀
It's quite a simple excel type calculator but it really work well for DM, you can built up your very unique chart by insert your own insulin dose for each carb exchange. I will use it for my daily carbohydrate intake. If really want to say what features should be improved, a search function is very useful when we add in a lot of data inside, and an edit function when we type wrong.
Finally an app that helps me a lot. Many are just too complicated or have to spend too much time to calculate. The fact that you can calculate the insuline dosage base on carbs is absolutely great. A search button for the food list would help though, but thanks for the app!
Basic and works. So my 9 year old is diabetic, and not the best at maths. Educating her in carb calculations has been a crazy task. She understands the rules, just can't do the numbers. This app has helped. Will see how she copes with it. But simplest way is best.
Would be OK but no joy with "export" function. App gives a file ref. of the saved file no path. I can't find the file anywhere on the device (using Solid Explorer) and the app itself doesn't find it so I can't re-import it! "Pure" Android 8.1.0 on Nexus 5x
I've used this app for a while and loved it for my step son as he is type 1. But Today I opened the app and all the data I had added was gone. So started to add again but unable to export to save the data, so if I add everything again next time I update will all my data have vanished again? Such a pity as was great before.
Pure garbage. So let me get this straight. You add the food item. YOU enter the carb data. Then it just lists it. By changing the weight it "calculates" the total carbs from the data you entered earlier. So this is just a cute little excel sheet. Absolute garbage. Update after developers response: The truth cares not about your feelings. I stated facts and your app IS PURE GARBAGE unless one is looking for an excell spreadsheet.
Great little app. I measure carbs by weight and also by quantity (depending on the product). Is it possible to save entries into the database by quantity as well? For example, Product Name [Rich Tea Biscuit], Quantity [2], Total carbs [10.5]. Thanks for reading.
I finally found the app I need to quickly calculate the carbs for my more complex meals. Donated via PayPal. Lots of appreciation from a T1D!!
Fabulous app. Saves me having to look up carb count all the time. I never delete a food just keep it there for next time.😍
Excellent app. Please add search option. Do you have app on apple store?
Very good and simple tool
Won't work for newer android devices.
you have to tell the app the nutritional information yourself.
This is the simplest and the best
I thought this app would have a food database, but doesn't
There is nothing there, just like a piece of paper.
it will not download data
Very good and useful
excellent very good Thank you
I also found the same as Paul Rosman comment about only being able to input eg- 4.7 and only showing 4 in the app. But for anyone who wants to put a decimal point all you need to do is hit the "sym" button on the key board and use the full stop to place eg-4.7 will then work, hope it helps, Great app Thanks
I love this for carb counting. Question: Is there a way to back it up so I don't lose information if I change phones and can I use it across different electronics? Tablet and phone for example...
This is just what I was looking for! Nice and simple. I put in my own foods that I eat with their net carbs and it calculates for that day. I don't need to save it. Just want to see what I eat daily. I don't use the 100g per serving though. I set that to 1 and put my food amount in description (like aspargus, 1 cup). Then I put in how many cups I had. The carbs I set to net carbs. A few things I'd like to see change is being able to set it to net carbs instead of total though. (At the bottom) Also noticed if I eat half of something (.5) and want to change it it always goes back to that decimal amount. The only was to correct it is to clear the whole day and start over. No biggy. Just inconvenient. Would've given full 5 otherwise.
So far I'm loving this app. Just what I was looking for! I am tho needing help understanding the "add weight". Some things foods are in 1/2cup other ml. And grams etc. For 1/2 I used .5 it changed it to 5 Will app use 5 ml? Can u please explain the weight to me?. Tx
This app is ideal. Just create a simple list of the foods you actually eat (most of us do a lot of repetition), enter the carb grams from the "facts" label, then select from them and add more as needed as you go through the day, entering just the weight of what you eat. It's so simple and effective. Also, there's a terrific help page if you click the question mark.
I've just d/loaded this app however after entering my first item I was surprised to see that you couldn't add in the exact carb deets ie I typed in 4.7 and 4 was what was saved. Please fix asap and I will then reassess my vote to 5*s. Otherwise the app seems very straight fwd and uncomplicated, TY for your efforts.
Great tool to have our list of foods, in whichever language we need. For a diabetic family relative that is not at ease with English this is top notch! Thanks
Best carbcounting app, using everyday! UPD about the search: Yeah, I can go without editing notes, thats debatable but it works. But the search is something I really miss cause I have 15 positions starting with the same letter and its hard to navigate using ABC only. Old: Would be nice to be able to export your data not only online but locally too, maybe in xls format or something. I am just cautious about losing data so keeping both would be the best option
