Carb/Calorie Counter

JACC is an acronym for Just Another Carb Counter. You may wonder why the world needs another food nutrition application since so many exist already. JACC attempts to be the easiest food nutrition application you'll ever use. Wouldn't we all rather be doing something more exciting than looking up nutrition data?
JACC uses a local copy of the USDA National Nutrient Database for Standard Reference to provide basic nutrient data for 8463 foods. You choose the food and serving information, and JACC calculates the following information for your selection: Calories, total fat, saturated fat, polyunsaturated fat, monounsaturated fat, cholesterol, sodium, total carbohydrate, dietary fiber, sugars, and protein.

Try it out and see what you think. If you really like something, or really don't, feel free to leave a comment. And remember, if you're not using Green Icon Software, you're not using JACC.

Known issues:Search order matters. For example, "bread banana" yields slightly different results than "banana bread". If you don't find the food that you are expecting, try changing the order of your search terms. This will hopefully be fixed in a future release.

Thank you:A special thanks to the men and women at the U.S. Department of Agriculture for doing the hard work of collecting the nutrition information and assembling it into a database for the benefit of us all. The nutrition information used in this application comes from the following source:

U.S. Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service. 2013. USDA National Nutrient Database for Standard Reference, Release 26. Nutrient DataLaboratory Home Page, http://www.ars.usda.gov/nutrientdata

Just installed the app, now about to uninstall app doesn't work as it should.

Good information, however it doesn't have the serving size. A McDonalds hamburger only comes in one size, but a drink comes in many sizes. I looked up a sprite, and was unable to find any information on the amount of beverage that contained 28g of carbohydrates.

All this app does is to look up the nutrients of a food and display it to you based on the quantity you enter. If you're hoping for more, you'll be disappointed. However it worked perfectly for what I needed.

Don't like how it searches. It hard to find things. I download it before I went to bed by morning my battery had been totally drained.

I liked the presentation but the search functionality left a lot to be desired. Any vegetables and fruits I tried looking up immediately went to baby foods and I had trouble finding too many other foods for it to be useful.

My sister told me about this app. She loves it so I downloaded it. But there is no submit tool so I took it off my phone. I have a Motorola Moto X

Very good presentation. Just not what I was looking for.

The first food I entered was cheese bread. Guess that doesn't exist in this app. Uninstalled it.
