A TILE PLACEMENT GAME OF CREATING LANDSCAPES, CLAIMING AREAS, AND GAINING POINTS
Discover or re-discover Carcassonne, the multi-awarded tile-based game in which players draw and place their tiles to build a medieval city. Place your cities, roads, abbeys or fields to enlarge your landscape, then place your followers, the meeples. Knights, robbers or farmers... Each meeple will help you control your territory and win points.
But be careful, you will need all your best strategy and tactics to maximum your points! Place your tiles and your meeples wisely to stop your opponents and win the game.

SIX EXPANSIONS: ENLARGE YOUR LANDSCAPE AND OPTIMIZE YOUR POINTS
Thanks to the mini expansions ""The River"" and ""The Abbot"", you can embellish your landscape and vary your game to enjoy new ways to play! Double or even triple your points thanks to the new buildings in the Inns & Cathedrals expansion! And with the Traders & Builders expansion, score more points with the trading commodities and build faster with the builders! Discover the city of Carcassonne covered with a blanket of white snow in the Winter Edition... and look out for the Gingerbread Man and the bonus points he'll give you! Beware of the Dragon in ""the Princess and the Dragon"" expansion! He could eat your Meeples if you're not cautious. And be kind with the Princess: she might prefer you to other Meeples and toss them out of the cities!

Basic premise looks great and I bought all the expansions. Alas, the game slows down, no matter settings, devices, internet. I am not sure if this is a server issue, but gameplay is extremely slow, vs AI or other online players. This is unplayable and should not be sold online, unless the latency issue is addressed immediately.

the game is good graphics are good but the AI takes forever to make a move. I've a moto g6 with loads of free ram but it still takes an average of three minutes to place a tile. in traders and builders when it had a double turn it took five minutes. this may have been intended to simulate a real person but its annoying me.

Awful. I love the board game and the previous version of the Android game (different developer). This version stinks! The default view is unnatural. Thankfully it can be changed. The redesigned tiles are distracting from playing the game. I cannot distinguish between certain tiles due to this. The meeples do not stand out enough. The previous version was simple and to the point and you should have improved on that rather than trying to reinvent the wheel. Uninstalled.

I enjoy the challenge, but the game is buggy. Knocks players off the net, will not allow legal moves, very slow. AI will play for you with the worst move it can make. Yet, I would like to see them add the bridge expansion. I am not very good, but I enjoying playing real people, not just the machine.

Love the game, and it's great to be able to log in and play seamlessly from any platform. I often play my friends on PC then switch to my phone. 2 issues on Android - Dragon is glitchy, and my account signs me out every 30 minutes or so. I don't play dragon much, but if you could keep me signed in on multiple platforms that would be fantastic!

Certainly as fun as the board game, with beautiful and clever graphics. For a paid app, though, it's very buggy. Constantly having to sign back in and can't save password. Music comes on randomly despite preferences for no sound/music made in settings. It also never remembers my meeple preference from game to game. If it were a free app I would find those things less annoying.

Have played a thousand times. Good design, but if you are like me and don't play online be prepared for an awful AI. AI blatantly cheats to create a challenge which ends up killing the strategy in this game. If you need a 90 degree road tile, you will be waiting a long time. Good graphics, easy interface but lazy AI design holds this back for ppl like me.

Love the game, but there's too many frustrating things about the app. The app vanishes from my phone (OnePlus), so if I want to play I have to go to the app store to enter it. Beyond frustrating. Sometimes the sound comes on when I enter a game, even though I put it on silent. Sometimes a meeple gets stuck in a closed town. That said, this is my favorite game and I play it every day. If these things were fixed it would be amazing.

This is definitely Carcassonne, with a few expansions. The graphics are too detailed, and I wish they would include a "simple" graphics settings to make the game run better. The game is slow, and requires a lot of power to run which drains the battery. When playing against the AI, there are many turns where the AI takes up to 5 minutes to make a turn which should not be the case.

I love the game and I would give it 5 stars, but it unquestionably needs some system to make it less frustrating when people go AFK. Perhaps timer for each turn that divides the entire time one has to make his moves in the match, for example. It gets very annoying if one has to wait for 10 minutes not being able to do anything because somebody just decided to leave. This wouldn't be a huge problem if the player base was wider, but since concurrent players are usually under a hundred, it isn't even worth to leave the match because it would take longer to find more people to play with.

This game is incredible fun I have the real life version and it's great. The app although beautiful is positively terrible. It crashes, it takes forever to load, then you have to open a game then it loads, then it loads again. The interface is clunky and it's very easy to press a button that doesn't mean what you think it does. It randomly logs you out. It doesn't give you any kind of notification when it's your turn. Stop making expensive expansions and fix these issues and maybe I'll spend mo

nice game, but there are many issues. The timer doesn't work properly. Even after I finish my move, it keeps running, and when other players are playing, it also randomly decrease my time. Looks like there is a huge delay from the server, as a result I always waste like half of my time. There are so many other websites that lets you play the same game (even with extensions) for free. This has nice graphics and animations, which is a plus point. But probably also the reason why it's so slow.

It is a good carcassone experience. Decent graphics and easy to understand controls. Fun and uncomplicated gameplay. My only real complaint is that the AI is very slow and that makes the games with computers drag on for too long. It isn't like you can bargain with and try and trick the AI like with people, so the waiting feels unnecessary. This isn't a complaint but it would also be fun to have more expansion options like ferries, gliders, or a double pack.

Game is fun. Navigating the menus, not intuitive. Hard to figure out how to to add people as friends. Will only find online players, you can't search database. It could use a new UI. Updated:. Game freezes constantly when playing online. Game is not inexpensive, especially when you add the game packs. Please fix this, especially considering what you change to play!

A very well done digitalisation of the tabletop game. The graphics is lovely and the gameplay is buttery smooth. There is an occasional bug here and there, with the biggest and potentially lost game-breaking being an issue when the unfinished towns sometimes receive double score at the end of the game. There is also no option to quit the game without losing your karma and ranking when your opponent has left the game without forfeiting. But overall, it's a load of fun.

Well, after playing with the older Carcassonne app, I really don't like this one. Not fussed on the 3D mode and so used the bird's eye mode. The main problem for me is that I am colour blind and I can't really see the difference in co!our between the fields and the cities, whereas with the older one the contrast is much better. Even the meeples are hard to see on the board. Plus the animated flags when the cities are built just annoy me immensely. I'm glad I still have the old one to play with!!

I have been playing this for well over a year now, and the physical game for well over 10. The digital version is very close to playing the physical one. I loved it, UNTIL THE RECENT UPDATE. Now, the game refuses to remember my login ID and I have to login almost every time I open the app or start a new game, and every time I login, it resets my achievements. Not only that, but the game defaults my Meeple to blue, and I have to remember to change it EVERY. SINGLE. GAME. Asmodee, get it together!

Carcassonne is aways fun to play, but this app has some basic bugs that need fixing asap. If you finish a game a few seconds before you run out of time it will kick you out of the game while calculating the final score (which can only happen once the game has finished). It will " forget your settings every now and then and turn on the music when you set to be off. You can only add someone as a friend when their online and sometimes, even they are online, you can't find them in the search.

Jin. B. Apr 26, 2020

The game, once you're playing, is awesome. But the online play with friends is quite unreliable and confusing. Setting up a game is unreliable, notifications don't always get to the players. Eventually the game sometimes appears in their current games list, but sometimes not. Once the game has started, individual players are often get a step or two behind everyone else, so they sometimes don't realise it is their go. And sometimes the app just crashes. Get better networking engineers!

AI is way too slow. Im waiting 10 seconds for the computer to think. There is too much wrong for that to even be a sentence. Funny that humans can think faster than the AI. I hate tnis version so much. The original app was much better. I could care less for the new graphics, it's also pretty ugly. I cant find a way to get the original app onto my new tablet. I miss that version so much, even though they turned off the AI choice after they abandonded that app. It was still playable.

The game is forced to reload each time you switch to a different app. If you're playing a long-term game with a few friends, and someone plays the finishing move while you don't have the app open all you get is a notification that you won or lost. No chance to review the scoring animation, and see how well everyone did. Very frustrating and annoying. A lot of the fun of the game is seeing how everyone did at the end, why can't you access recently played games to view their totals?

Edw. H. Aug 12, 2020

I play the game many times a week so obviously enjoy it alot but there's some major flaws and bugs in the game. Primarily that it kicks you out of the game when time runs out. Having a time limit is a good idea but it could be implemented in a far better way. When it happens to my opponent I'd much rather have the option to give them perhaps an extra minute. And if time runs out for me why can't I watch the game complete with the computer taking over. Please consider fixing.

Jef. M. Apr 21, 2019

Compared to the old game the controls are much better, with bigger target areas for placing meeples, and and the rest of the buttons clustered around the right thumb. The "halo" to show player colours on tiles is nice too. Overall though, the 3D view and the extra tile detail and idle animations are unnecessary and very distracting. The lack of a double-tile pack option is also a major loss. I'm glad I made a backup of the old game before it was pulled. Don't fix what isn't broken!

Rya. E. May 3, 2020

Overall its a great game I love it. I have the actual board game too. I play the phone version when I'm at work. The price for the game isn't that bad and the expansion packs makes the games more interesting and more strategic. I would say I wish they would FIX the thinking time for the AI (computer) sometimes it takes forever and there is nothing for you to do but wait. Other than that its a great game AI's seem pretty well balanced and the interface is pretty smooth. 5/5 if they FIX AI problem

Great mobile game. Graphics add to the experience. However, when playing 'Local' games against the AI it ALWAYS gets the majority of the Monasteries, which makes it tougher to win when, because of this, they are guaranteed around 20 extra points through Monasteries alone. It just didn't seem a random drawing of these cards. Tweak the formula and make it random, or at least fairer.

Love the 3D graphics, app design, and effects (especially the completion of city effect). I have to admit that the graphics and UI got much better from the previous app. The smoothness of this app is satisfying. But I wish there were options to turn off some effects like those glowing lights indicating who played that tile and jumping meeples effect. Also, I couldn't find the rules for fields and farmers in the rulebook and tutorial. This might be a problem for new players.
