I'd previously played the game on Steam and was itching for a simple card game on my phone. While it's not exactly what I wanted at the time (I mostly wanted something along the lines of MtG), the charm I'd experienced on PC made me decide to purchase Card City Nights for my phone as well. It's certainly worth the price and has its own type of strategy. Plus it's cute.
The problem with this game is there is no player skill that I can see. Just RNG. I don't know if it gets better in the later game but early on whether or not you can EVEN MAKE a combo is totally random. The interface is a disaster and I'm not talking about the graphics. Critical indicators on the card which point out which directions they can connect are so tiny you can hardly see them. Microscopic card font. The deck building screen is not usable. This game needs major focus group testing.
This. Best mobile game i've played and one of three or so that's on par with PC games (and I play a LOT of games). It's like a puzzle game; it has you figuring out what cards work together and how to beat this opponents strategy. (Ludos earlier game Ittle Dew has a simular level of puzzle goodness you like puzzle) Outside of battles, it has some of the best characterizations out there. (though l am refering to it's best characters, they are on par with the earlier spongebob episodes. seriously.)
Card City Nights is definitely amongst the best CCG I've ever played (e.g. Orions, Stormbound). It has a slow start, because of a somewhat dull cards at the beginning, but once I've got that first legendary card...my oh my. Anyway, thank you for such an adventure. Worth every penny!
The art is incredibly disturbing but the gameplay is great. The RPG part is maybe a little lacking but the card combat is unique and fun. It's all about connecting your cards together.
Cant even beat the delinquent. Nice game just too one sided in favour of A.I. would of purchased the second but I dont trust the game mechanics 😢 looks nice and concept of the gane really appeals to me but the gameplay goes from fun to force closing the app mid game due to terrible rng. Cant see it being updated so two stars is my rating.
Probably the best single player card game on here.. while it isn't flawless (aggro decks seem to be by far the best type of deck) it's about as close as you can get. is really worth picking up for the cost.
Complete game. No in-app purchases. If you want to take a break from Hearthstone, this is a good game to play. It's a Card Collecting game with different card rarities. Legendary cards are OP and fun. Good mechanics & funny storyline.
a favorite game that i already had on my computer, and often wanted to have on mobile. and now i do! :) lovely little card strategy game, with honestly maybe the best game soundtrack in existence. <3
I can see how someone could really enjoy this game...but not me. The graphics have a very old-school Nickelodeon sorry of feel...which I'm just not a fan of. And the card game itself - the card positioning system, matching cards, the card types themselves, the way cards stay in your hand until used... I just didn't like how ANY of it works. But that's my taste. I prefer my card games more like Netrunner, MtG, Slay the Spire, or Hearthstone. And it's not anything like any of those.
I love this game finished it some time ago on pc and will do again on phone! if you ever start making a 3rd part of this game please keep the gameplay of thw firat game it is much better than the way you play in the 2nd one
I am in love with this game, hands down. The gameplay, the music, and especially the tongue in cheek card art is incredibly entertaining!
Bloody fun game. Played it all the way through several times. A great combination of tactical card game and funny well-written story.
An excellent card game. Lots of cards to collect across hours and hours of content, and it's got good humor too.
Why in the world is this game so cheap? Seriously??? Amazing everything guys! You need to sell it at least for 3 bucks and that's still cheap.
No stupid microtransaction. Full experience good. The art style and humor just grows on you
Fan-freaking-tastic art direction and card mechanics (: Thanks for another great game, Ludosity
Exceptionally fun and charming. Would have bought it with coupons if I could.
Excellent game. Kind of a mix between a boardgame and Minesweeper.
Great music put together with rewarding gameplay.
love this game, music, graphics, gameplay, EVERYTHING
Relaxing, casual, and super stylistic. Kept me company on a 3 day train ride
Such a good game! I didn't waste any penny. Hope there's more version to come.
The best single player deck builder ive bought so far. I really appreciate that something like this exists for us that really arnt into playing online and would prefer something at our own pace and still enjoy a good deck builder.
I am a big fan of these developers (and the sound artist) and their games.
This game rushed past my expectations for being challenging in a fun way and with a smooth learning curve. Unlike most card games, not once have I felt that the randomness of the cards ruined the strategy. Also if you get enjoyably addicted to collecting things, this game delivers powerfully. Playable offline, so long airline flights seem much shorter now.
Fun offline fusion of a Trading Card Game (TCG) and a puzzle game. Most trading card games require an online connection. Card City nights does not, and works just fine offline. the game has a fun, quirky sense of humor. I'm familiar with some of the developer's other games and a number of the characters make cameos as cards or payers in Card City nights. I'm particularly pleased with how the game has distracted my eldest son from more violent games. It's just weird enough to keep an eight year old interested
The game is awesome: AI is allright, card design is on point (some broken cards though) and the soundtrack is nice. Thing is, once you're done with the story mode, the replay value is very low and further development on the game seems to have halted :( would love an expansion or a new set!
Fun but not balanced This game relies heavily on RNG and unlike Card Wars, the balancing of certain cards versus others is really too varied to make it consistent. The matching system isn't really the direction they should have gone with this and unless you played other games by the same company such as Ittle Dew, you're going to miss a lot of jokes on the card art.
I was looking for a good card game and i saw this on youtube. i was a bit hesitant because of its graphics and different gameplay. But since its only $0.99, i gave it a shot anyway. And Im glad I did. The music and gameplay is really well executed. After afew minutes, the graphics didnt bother me anymore. And I realize that the graphics matches the music as it gives you that old school vibe. Ive never really played card games more than an hour straight, so this is a first. Thanks Devs!!!
