Card Talk

The more I explore this app the more I realize that it's not as great as everyone else says it is, as a autistic person who often goes nonverbal this app feels uncompleted and crude. You can't make/edit decks, use more then 3 cards at a time, customize anything other then cards(even then it's very basic) and cause of this it feels very limting and restricting(especially as someone who has a lot to say). It's decent for a free app but even then it's not as good as it could be :/

The app is good but is limited in how many cards can be displayed at the same time. It would be nice if we could set up 3- or 4-row charts for some emulation of what the schools use for their activities. I would have given a better rating for these things. I do like that you can create cards, but if you speak the wrong text and click okay, or if the picture needs retaking, you have to d3lete the card instead of replacing the picture or edit the text. This has the potential of being a great app.

English teacher here - have been using it as class material. The students selects the words at random & then create a sentence. To make it more difficult, I create my own 1st word & they then have to select their 3 words to go with that in order to make their sentences. I haven't yet put in my own cards, but I will be doing that for connection with previous classes. Good for all levels. A very useful app - recommended 👍🤓

I loved this app. Spent time creating cards with personal pictures. Easy to use. However after some time, the picture board would freeze and I could no longer add photos from the deck or the library. Tried multiple avenues. Help. I want it all back. Everything is there I just can't make a speech board.

This app is unable to save original cards, in spite of claiming to, limiting communication to toddler level functions. The absolute worst time to discover that vital original cards have all been deleted is during a non-verbal adrenaline episode. Irresponsible to market yourself the way you have to have such sloppy coding that it can't hold a simple cache of images and brief audio for more than a day or two. This problem occurs on three different devices and I'm done testing. Moving on.

This app has extensive collection of cards, can add your own cards but there seems to be no way of deleting custom cards. Would be helpful to have one main screen with commonly used cards that's more than history.

Just got started using the app and love it! Very similar to the communication device we had gotten which was expensive! This is convenient to put on a phone for my daughter to take everywhere with her to help with her communication skills! Being able to make my own cards with my own photos and voice is awesome so that she'll be a 100% familiar with what she's seeing and hearing! By the way she is 15 and downsyndrome with limit speech. Thank you for this app ,awesome job all the way around!

This app has really opened my son up. My son does speak but he mainly repeats back what ever is said to him. I was worried that an app like this might make him stop trying to speak & start to rely on the app to communicate but it hasn't at all. In fact it has done the opposite! He is starting to communicate more often & more independently. If you have a child that can speak but doesn't communicate freely & independently you MUST TRY THIS APP OR ONE LIKE IT! We owe it to their beautiful minds!

I have a brother with autism and it works pretty good. It's really important that theres a way for him to talk to us. However I wish it was all in one to scroll through instead of different categories but it's cool cause you can make your own words and it has plenty of different languages to choose from.👍

This would have been a great app with just the provided cards, but the option to create your own cards makes it amazing! I use this to show my child a short-term schedule and being able to customize and change on the fly is invaluable.

very good. now my autistic child is able to communicate easily when we are out on the go and don't have to bring along the pecs folder. but it will be best if can categorise the added photos and also able to clear the history folder. other than that, highly recommend this app.

My 13 yr old is nonverbal, i wanted to find a free app to support our time together being less frustrating - this app is amazing. Lots of basic cards, easy for him to navigate, and we are currently making custom cards for the unique places/people/activities in our lives. 5 stars.

Would love it more if we could login in order to sync to all our gadgets, just incase one goes down... So, we don't have to always create the custom cards from scratch ot over and over again. Custom deck needs more cards in it as well, there is only 8 now.

I like the idea of this app. Although there could be some tweaking that needs to be done to make it more awesome. First, I did install it on one device, worked great. I tried to install in on the other device but there is no way to retrieve all the information that I had input on the first device which means that I have to start all over. Second, it's great that you can create your own cards but unfortunately can't add it to the recent deck that is already there and you can't edit the deck.

as a pediatrician, i think this app is awesome and very useful. It functions very well to be an Augmentive Communication Application program. The language choice is fanstastic. No app is perfect but this one is highly recommended even in my professional opinion

This is a very practical app, and the picture instructions are quite clear and interesting. But the speech speed is so fast when the audio file is playing, children can't hear it clearly. Is it possible to add options that can adjust the speed of speech?

Very functional, great for communication. Real pictures can be used which is fantastic. Highly recommended for people with communication issues.

It's a great app but I wish the voice that has already been setup was was a few seconds slower. It helps toddlers whom are just learning to talk.

This is nothing short of AMAZING!!!! Almost every assistant talking device is expensive and this app is free!!! To be able to communicate with my 2 year old daughter who has autism and limited speech is priceless!!! Thank you sooooo much with all my heart for this app.

Love the pre-set cards and that you can make custom cards to fit any situation your child could find themselves. Thank you for this app, it's made a huge difference!

I'm a SPED teacher and for my non verbal students has been a very good option this app. It makes her communication easier

Similar to the software elementary school uses for the non-verbal students that is $350. I like that I can make customized cards and sentences with the words. I see no manners words so will have to make my own Please, Thank You, and such for sentences.

Great app, just wish it worked in landscape with 5 top cards. Also wish you could add your own tabs (maybe sub-tabs too... Like food-fruits and food-vegetables, etc. All under a foods tab)

I have tried multiple apps to help my son communicate. this is the first app he actively used. the simple pictures and words are super easy to use and very user friendly for small children.

This app is the best one I have seen. My son is non verbal. And you can create your own cards for anything you need, amazing 👏

This is a really good app. I love that I can create mine own cards complete with a single word, phrase, sentence, plus a photo or image.
