This game is the hiddem gem of offline, detailed, strategic, and action-packed RPGs. At first, the controls are odd, but they soon become instinctive. The level of detail to the gameplay, stories, levels, and equipment in this game is incredible too! On top of that, if you don't know something about anything, like a skill or an enemy, just click the question mark button up top to read a short summary. The classes are great and you can pick up spells along the way to custom-build your own class!

Everything you could possibly expect out of a game like Cardinal Quest!!! Absolutely no paywall, everything can be unlocked by just enjoying the content, each area is procedurally generated (new layout each time), 3 difficulty settings to satiate every type of gamer, turn-based play that doesn't rush you at all, and very very easy on the battery! Most games on the app store barely make it 2 days on my phone. I keep coming back to this one anytime I need to pass some time on my phone. 6 stars!

I don't care how many times I play this, I always come back for more. Definitely starts as a beginner's roguelike, the difficulty can get pretty unforgiving. It's rogue-lite elements give it more replayability, IMO, and a way for the less-hardcore-gamers among us a way unlock, not only small advantages, which can make all the difference, but entirely new classes, all of which present entirely new gameplay approaches.

One of the best mobile games, a wide variety of play styles, spells, items to get you out of bad situations makes the game very tense and fun. 2 improvements i would like to see. Multiple characters, having only one character slot is limiting the fun of the game, for example you could be on a very high level floor with a play style you are bored of, i would love to see 3 character slots. Polymorph only kinda works, it doesnt change health, stats, abilities often. IWantMoreRiskAndRewardWithIt

Fun RPG: Really good gameplay. If you click on the magnifying glass at the top you can see a description of anything. My only complaint is the placement of the consumable items because I will accidentally click them instead of the ability. You can buy morale, but it is NOT in your face. You can do everything in the game without microtransactions, and it does not feel like a grind.

Nearly perfect mobile rogue-lite. Great for long or short playtimes. Responsive and intuitive controls. Very good variety of classes and play-styles. Has the right amount of challenge without feeling too easy or unfair. Love the retro 80's graphics, music, and sounds. You can unlock everything for free through playing, or if you're impatient you can pay for the unlocks.

One of my all-time favorite games! Huge amounts of replayability plus the tantalizing lure of climbing those achievenent rungs. I love planning builds and learning the mechanics of each new playstyle in detail. Was a fan of it on Kongregate back in the day as well! This version is quite well optimized for mobile. My main criticism is that I'd venture that the dev wasn't playtesting on Android... It's easy to accidentally trigger a spell when I'm just trying to return to my other apps.

Clearing some misconceptions. There's a tutorial, the help button tells you everything. It's definitely better than broken pixel dungeon. You can get the alchemist without paying for them. Rotating the screen is unnecessary. The movement might be a bit clunky. And lastly, before complaining about something, give an example.

Simple enough to dive right into but complex enough to keep you interested for a long time. Charming old school graphics, good balance of randomness, interesting and fun character classes and skills. Also an enormous amount of achievements and unlockable content. No pushy ads or begging for money. I'm hoping there's a sequel

In some ways this game reminds me of FTL. It's not an unusual formula, a bit of randomization, have to make do with what you get, and use the correct build. But it doesn't disparage you from trying and being that one person who managed to make it to the end with a weird build. It's a very fun roguelike, easily my fav on Android. Gives me special kind of feels.

An absolute recommendation for those new to Rogue-Like. It does not have paywall or pay-to-win. Autosave optimal for mobile play. Easy UI. Not too long or short time for a game (except for Tower mode). Perfectly acceptable difficulties, all-differerent classes and so many possibilities. The only con is I've never been successful to save data transfer to other device: but it's ok, for I unlocked the Alchemist for third time now.

Good... but unbalanced. Good concept, but its a bit unbalanced. Using the magician you can just slowely advance and take the monsters out one by one from a distance. Completed the three main questsnon my first go with the mage... coild be a few more scrolls and potions etc. too. Kinda basic for a rouge-like game.

I like retro RPGs - especially rogue-likes - that don't take a lot of time or brain power to play during a given session and this fits the bill nicely. I just played my first game and I enjoyed it, but I ran across some sticking points: movement isn't too intuitive and you can't move diagonally. Also, I understand the concept of rogue-like, but I think that health could drop from enemies a bit more. Having said that, though, I paid a bit to keep that 1st game going, so that says something...

At the surface a relatively simple game with max 5 skills at once. With all the classes and different builds it gets more complex and varied, especially at the higher difficulties. Well worth the price of 0! All the classes and the first few unlocks for each are easily attainable without spending anything on the game.

One of the best roguelikes I've played. The classes all have unique strategies, and so do different skill and perk builds. Items are interesting and varied. The terrain features are kinda minimal, but the bush mechanics are fun

This game is a gem. Its fun, not grindy, and there are no daily tasks/ads to bother you. There are a variety of different classes and builds to unlock without actually ruining the core gameplay in a major way. You can pay to support the developers but its really optional and it doesn't give a huge advantage. For beginners, a good tip is dont rush in for face-to-face if you dont have enough speed because you will get hit. Please come with more games like this

Very lovely rpg, with nice pixel art and gameplay! Overanalyzing, more skills and bigger skill trees would add more customization, what would be the next step to improve the game in my view. Also, add more difficulty levels, the hardest one is not that challenging.

Excellent roguelike, well balanced, with 3 types of difficulty for beginners / standard players / veterans. Would look forward to a sequel, there is so much potential to work with.
