Carmel - Car, Taxi & Limo

If you're frustrated with surge pricing, or the lack of yellow cabs out there, but love the ease of getting a ride by app, give these folks a try. It's just as easy to set a ride, the pricing is up front and fair and you can schedule in advance. They'll take you anywhere too! I went from NYC to Westchester with less stress than a rental, and way less cost than a certain ride app at peak. Driver was nice too. FYI, this is my review, but I am awarded $10 car cash from Carmel for sharing it.

Great experience so far just wish there was an ability to be able to change change pick up time yourself when airlines cancel or delay flights so you are not billed for canceling the trip. I called to have the time of my pick-up changed and it was pretty easy but if I didn't think about calling and wanted to just change the time through the app, there wasn't an option. The only option was to cancel but your card would still be billed. My driver was on time, courteous and a safe driver.

Excellent service. Driver arrived to pick us up five minutes earlier, contacted me on arrival, was friendly, helped with luggage, the trip was fine, will be happy to use them again. The desktop browser website is good, no issues. Android app is, however, buggy. I could not change the date of the order, only option of today was available. This has to be fixed. This app and the service provided through it are exceptional. I have been using Carmel for over twenty years for I town travel and to the airports. There has never been an issue with the service. Their drivers are prompt, the cars are clean, and most importantly, I always know exactly what I am paying before I get in a car. No surprise uptick in fares, no cancelations. They have no competition, only wannabe companies trying to get a slice of the pie.

We have been very happy with the car service, never a complaint. The mobile app, on the other hand is a disaster. It is one of the most poorly designed app I've ever downloaded; not intuitive at all and very cumbersome to use. They need to hire a professional to design a new app, I imagine some people have just given up and gone with another limo company...

BEWARE! Unreliable operation. Not only was a car not assigned when I booked hours in advance via the app, but when I phoned the call center I was assured a car would arrive in 5-7 minutes. When it didn't show, I called a second time and was advised that wait times were 20-30 mins. However, when pressed on that, the operator admitted they didn't actually know when they'd be able to confirm a car. All at 11pm+! I rarely write negative reviews, but dealing with this group is a security risk.

Easy and convenient app. Excellent company for great car/limo service. They can provide service in almost every city; And, very affordable, especially in NYC & LA. Thia company no-showed my reservation at LaGuardia. I used the app to indicate my arrival and then the app went into perpetual "getting your car details" mode. So I called them. Three times. The time frame they provided for the car's arrival came and went three times. I canceled three other reservations that I had with them. If you read all of their positive reviews on Google Maps, very carefully, you'll discover that the vast majority of them receive $10 from the company for posting the review

The app is easy to use and Carmel is the car service I use to go from LaGuardia into Manhattan. They're relatively quick in arriving and I almost always have a quick trip into or out of the city. The cost is better than Uber or Lyft and I get a car to myself! This is my review and it was not influenced by the $10 in Google money I received.

I have used Carmel for years. In the "olden days" I always complained about having to call and wait on hold when I arrived at the airport or that paying my bill could be a hassle at the airport if they couldn't get a connection. With the Carmel app I just click "I am here" when I arrive and pay in the app while enroute to the airport. It couldn't be easier!

Needed an early morning ride the airport and when all else failed, Uber, Taxi companies etc... I found this company on Google and was very surprised. My driver Anthony showed up 10 minutes early and was pleasant and mannerable the entire time and even offered to carry my bags into the airport for me. Nicely dressed, very professional, the car was nice and in good condition. It was just an above all great experience. Would definitely recommend !!! Definitely worth the price !!!

Traveling during this pandemic is difficult enough, however I felt safe and completely socially distant. We picked up our bags and bybthe time we got to the pick up area our driver was there. The cars looked freshly detailed and sterile with the plastic separator between the driver and ourselves. The price was very affordable and I definitely will be using them next time we fly into NY

Extremely pleasant and very open communicative company. I installed this to use as a cheaper alternative to the regular rideshares and was not disappointed. Not only did I get a great ride but the company even called to ask if it was ok that the driver would be a bit late. The driver was very accommodating and opened the door for me. The trip was great also. Please know that this is an honest review but I am being compensated $10 for it.

The app does what it should. Allowed you to reserve a car, pick your car type and see prices. The drivers were professional and the cars were clean and on time. I would use them again for longer trips around NY and long Island. This is my honest review but I am receiving a $10 reward for posting.

Great experience. After searching for days in web a transfer between EWR to JFK, I did nothing. So, got to Newark and saw a few billboards about this Company. I took the risk and was the best decision. Great price with fees, tolls and tip included. By chance I took the best Co. I have to put that they will give me a 10.00 discount for next trip if I write a review but that's unfair because sound like they bought me. The 10.00 bucks are not necessary. This is a great reliable Co. Again good 1/12

I booked them for an airport transfer and it worked via the app very smooth. The driver was super friendly and drove us safe to our hotel. I paid via the app without any problems. Would book again and recommend. Only little thing is that we booked the deluxe option but the car felt more standard, the driver so Luxus :) therfore still 5 points. Great driver, but the card reader wouldn't work had to do it myself over the phone. Not a deal breaker, things happen I'll use this service again but only 4 stars for the inconvenience. They mention a $10 discount for future reservations if I post a review so here it is... we'll see if it works.

This is my review but I am awarded $10 Car cash from Carmel for sharing it. The app makes ordering cars simple. it would be nice if it included an option for travelling with pets since I only leaned that a minivan needs to be booked (even for small dogs) when i called to inquire. Also, there is no option in the app for pickup inside the airport for help with luggage or for other special requests.

Easy to use and have all records in one place. Now, I use the app for my reservation, getting my driver info and payment. What I like the most apart from simplicity is that if I have cash cash (discount) with Carmel from their promotion, the credit will be automatically applied to my payment. ordered 2 vehicles. both arrived at the hotel 10 minutes early. Friendly drivers. The price they quote you does not include tolls. They should include the tolls (or at least an estimate of the toll fees) so customers can compare their price to other options. I do not appreciate taxi drivers or apps that dont allow the customer to decide on toll route. The time different of the toll at 2am was 6 mins. Ive used it 3 times and never had this issue. Now told its the drivers choice. And i was charged more than the cost of the toll. Thought I'd try this service out. I'll stick with lyft and uber.

Easy to make reservations online with app. Driver arrived early and texted he was there. Car was immaculate, temperature perfect and the ride comfortable. Couldn't ask for more. Price very very reasonable. Will use this service from now on without exception.

I have never experienced an app that hangs my entire system, untill now! For clarification, the app becomes impossible to close every time it is opened, with the app shutting down but the screen staying the same, forcing you to restart the phone

This app worked well and it gives me comfort to know that they are working to keep us safe mid-COVID. My only issue was with having clear instructions on how to apply my coupon code. I missed the opportunity to do this for a reservation and was told it couldn't be applied after it was booked. It's not a major deal but it should be clearer.

Reservation was very easy. You get $10 off for making reservation online. The price was lower than Uber. The car arrived at the pickup point on time. The car was clean and comfortable.

I used the Carmel App to reserve a ride for my family from Newark to Manhattan after a flight from LA. The service was great! Amazing car exactly as reserved. It was very easy to meet the driver through the application, pay through the app including tolls & tips at a fair price known from the reservation time. Truth, I was left stranded by the shuttle service that never came. I could not even get past the robovoice on the phone and the "driver" did not respond to my texts. In a panic I remembered that my friend recommended Carmel. I called and quickly got through to a human - yeah! She said a car would pick me up in 15 min. In exactly 15 mins the car was there! I got to the airport on time. No problem. Coming back I could not use my app on my cellphone so I called and again got through to a human immediately - yeah!. A car would pick me in up in 7mins! and yes, within that time frame the car was there! The driver took my bag up the stairs to my building. All went really well. I recommend this service. Please note, this is a true story, but also "This is my review but I am awarded $10 Car cash from Carmel for sharing it" - another perk - but would not write something that is not true.

I used their service for the first time tonight coming back from the airport and it was very easy. The driver arrived quickly and got me home very quickly as well. I had heard they were better to use from an airport than a service like Uber and I was not misled. I will definitely use them again. Outstanding service, as always, but this time without any pre-planning. Over Columbus Day weekend, we booked from baggage claim, because the car rental was $300 and Uber was $160. Carmel was not only significantly less expensive, but was there faster with a professional driver and a town car. And for safety, you can ping the driver's phone to confirm their identity. This was our actual experience and Carmel gave use $10 to write down for you.
