Carrier Air Conditioner

I have 1 a/c in the living room and 1 in the bedroom. My router is in the living room so the one a/c was recognised via bluetooth immediately. The bedroom one cannot be located by the app, because the router is in a different ..room. Idiotic! Updated review: since december 2021 when I published this review, it is now june 2022 and nobody from the company replied nor emailed me..

It's impossible to add an a/c device. This is app is worthless. Always timeouts on "reconnecting phone to wifi". Following FAQ doesn't solve anything. Although the a/c connection to wifi succeeded, the device is not added to the list. Stay away from this manufacturer if you want wifi capabilities.

Everytime this app is updated I have to remove and then re add my ac unit which isn't a straight forward process It just fails to communicate with the unit over and over until I remove and re add. Please stop updating the app it works fine as it is! Or make the user choose whether they want to update or not

Very difficult to add my device. Errors most of the time. If an error, it transitions back so fast it's Impossible to read what has gone wrong. If manage to add the device, I can only turn it on from the icon available in the main screen. I cannot go into device settings because I have to "wait for a moment!" (endless). The room temperature is misread from the app. 5°C difference from remote control. Can't set the "fin" either to divert air flow. I hope future versions fix these problems. Thks.

The app can work with a supported device but the experience using it is horrible. It really feels like they got a template app and tried to make it work with other devices. Not only does it lack integration with any voice assistant or have any API for automation it doesn't even get the basics right. Logs me out daily then takes 20 seconds to connect and get to the control section. Half the instructions just don't get to the device even if the sluggish ui registers changes. Not worth installing.

It's bad - unpolished, unresponsive, unpleasant. The app looks and feels like something one would associate with a white box Chinese import. Every screen (of which there are multiple layers) presents a loading wheel. Generally the app is cumbersome and slow. It looks tacky and the UI is messy in places. Also, the associated products can't be linked to Google Assistant or SmartThings, so what's the point of having a "connected" A/C?

I have 2 mini split units installed and another on the way. Installing each unit with the app was easy but each one randomly goes offline and the only way to resolve the issue is to remove the offline unit and reinstall it. Then I never know when one will go offline again. It's not an issue of signal strength. I paid a lot extra for wifi capability in each unit and I never know when one or more will go offline.

Needs strong WiFi. With last release seems more dependable. The dashboard should give more information than just a list of my 6 mini splits. Like current state, temp and humidity would be nice. Wish schedule worked based on humidity triggers not just time of day. Wish it could email alerts. Wish it could work with ITTT. On the plus side I was able to diagnose a freon leak using the "check" function. But it should run check on it's own everyday and then email me if something falls. Samsung S9+

I'd rate with 0 stars if it was an option. Can't connect to my air conditioner at all, keeps failing at 99% reconnecting phone to wifi (and my wifi network does function ormally so the issue isn't with it). UX is awful, no option to control device over mobile data network as well so..nothing the remote control can't do for me.

I've set 12 units and used to work fine. During past week, while all units are online and I can see them in firmware update screen, they do not sync and I can't control them from the app (keep getting the "please wait for a moment!" message). Useless. I own a small hotel, for which this functionality is mandatory and was the reason for installing Carrier units in the first place. Shame

I paid 50 euros extra to get the wifi adapter for my a/c. And what did i get? A slow app that wants access to my camera, my microphone and my files. Devs what are you trying to do here?

It's a good app but it doesn't allow connection to google home. It seems carrier only cares about thermostats in smart homes, their competitors can connect air conditioner to their smart home. update: after constantly disconnecting, it has now stopped connecting entirely, and the update fixed nothing (9999 system error).

extremely poorly designed app! took over 2hours to get Samsung S9+ to work with app. Had to delete and reinstall and recreate account multiple times and eventually it worked. not user friendly. Cannot change name of my AC, had to just select living room option. Extremely embarrassing as I am a Carrier employee and even had our Factory rep struggle with me to setup! Carrier Wifi video instructions differ from actual setup. Please fix your App! Useless Useless Useless! Buggy with Andriod.

The App was very basic, but the last update definitely drive it to bring the poorest experience ever seen. It show the equipments but you can only turn them on/off. There's no API to integrate the equipments to a home automation solution or at least integration of the mobile app with Google Home. Very disappointed.

After the most recent May 26th update, you cannot log in if your account email has a plus sign in it (which is completely valid, and used to work just fine), otherwise the app is alright, but uh... please fix this so I don't have to downgrade it every time it randomly logs me out.

Poorly designed, connects alright, but when you have multiple devices, you cannot see the status of the devices unless you enter each device separately, would have been nice if there was an on/off button in front of each device on the main screen.

This version .430 is almost useless. It let me only turn on and off the AC unit, but I cannot change the program or set any temperature. The version before was something .8 and it worked fine.

App does not keep the units scanned and loaded into the app memorized, I configured the app with 2 minisplits wifi it worked for a few days both times, so I gave up using the app, don't spend the extra money on the Carrier wifi models as the app for it does not work on Iphone nor Android, if you want wifi to work look for another brand!

Awfull app. Slow, and now it won't log me in anymore. It says my network is not good enough. Your error message and app is not good enough! My networks work well with everything else connected in my house. Get your app in order!

New version of the app is useless. Can't find how to change the mode of AC, so I have to do it on my remote controler. Also it's slow even though I'm connected to the same wifi as the ACs.

Can't update the firmware so it no longer runs on the schedule, manual on off only now. Update never completes. Tried the email address but no joy. Here it is. December with non working app 😡

It works but it has a bug to the setup wizard and took me half an hour to workaround it. It tells you to connect to device and it closes the app. You must login to app and put it to background then connect to device and last open app from background for the wizard to complete.

Since the new version (with the new design) this control app is pretty unusable. It's response time is huge, or non existent since i cannot connect to my device over 4G. Only over wifi. Please fix these, or just give back the older version.

App works as advertised and I'm glad I can use the app to manage my units remotely but the lack of Google Assistant integration is sad. The only carrier app that works with Google is not for the US which makes zero sense to me. Please add support for Google Assistant.

We need Google Home integration... I'm thinking to switch the AC brand, I have the whole house connected but the AC, sad... (Re)-edit: they added Google home support ~ I was able to find the carrier app in Google home so I liked the accounts, works fine

It doesn't even let you log in after you confirm your email... you get ERROR. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!

No Google home integration, come on Carrier, people are begging for this feature!

Working fine. I detected a bug when adding a device manually. When I select the internet wifi I needed to switch manually to the AC WiFI in order to upload all the configuration.

with the last update I could not operate my minisplit unit... please debug! update: I used my iPhone to set up my air conditioning and it worked! so the problem is in fact this android app... buggy... not good, shame on you developers... work hard on android app too!
