Works. A bit confusing to set up, and once set up it still nags with questions I don't understand, but it works anyway, and that's much more than I can say for another app I've been using before and stopped working. The hotspot connects and disconnects as expected, and the connection quality indication (a large green smiley) is helpful.
It was a 5 star app until it stopped working since Android Pie update on my Samsung Galaxy Note 8. The hotspot has to be turned on manually although it detects BT connection to my car headunit. Last app update was January 2019. I hope the next version which works on Galaxy phones with Android Pie is next in line for a fix. For now, every time I get into my car, I have to manually turn on the hotspot. I really miss the automation by this app. Please.... update ASAP!!!
Amazingly it does exactly what it says on the tin! It watches for a connection to a particular BT (my car) and then it enables WiFi tethering/hotspot when the BT is connected. On BT disconnection, hotspot is disabled. Neat, clean, perfect! Tested on Android 10 with Huawei Mate 20X.
I think it's a great app and it worked great on my last phone (Galaxy S8+) but rarely works on my P20 pro. I have it set to my car stereo Bluetooth, and set it to work when on charge but neither mode seems to activate it. Real shame.
Uhg, another app that doesn't work. Samsun s8+. This apps detects the bluetooth connection, but cannot automatically change the setting. Forces me to do it manually. F.U. Samsung. What phones work with auto tethering? Samsung clearly doesnt!!!
Great app for switching on the hotspot on my mobile when driving with my car. For that I need the app and so I also bought it. But I also have an suggestion for improving: If it would be possible to export the records (e.g. as csv file), it would be fine for using the app as driver's logbook.
Used to be great, but now it will not automatically turn on the hotspot. Hope they get it figured out, because there is no point for me to use the app without the automatic hotspot feature.
"Carspot Ready" permanently appears in the notification area. Sometimes it doesn't turn on hotspot. It became useless after the last 2 versions released.
Does the job fine. Would give top score if the parking thing was optional, and it would be possible to purchase add free version, or remove apps with in-qpp purchase.
It worked fine on S9 plus 8.0. It doesn't work any longer after upgrade to 9.0, it can't automatically start the Hotspot 🙁
I like this app, especially cause it's free and does more than the other alternatives, the ads can be a bit annoying though
It works but very complicated! Tons of messages appear again and again, even in background mode, can't ride my car without putting my phone to silent!
Exactly what I was looking for. Just needs some fine tuning as it occasionally does not start. Playing with battery settings isn't helping.
A good application to activate Hotspot Wifi when getting in the car (Bluetooth must be enabled). So far so good.
This app used to work like a charm but no more. After the recent samsung galaxy update, it fail to auto enable witi thethering. Dev, please fix the error!
Used to manually switch on hotspot but often forgot and only realised when I was driving so car satnav, media etc werent connected to the internet. Now carspot ready does it all for me. No need to anything.
Poor, always showing in the notification area,only way to get rid is a forced stop. hotspot rarely starts automatically.
Completely caused bluetooth to work on my car. Never worked in the first place. Expect NO help AT ALL from this P.O.S developer. I have sent 15 unanswered emails in 2 months
Works great. Although I had to disable notifications via the system, before it stopped giving off sound notifications
best app so far for turning on hotspot when it connects to car bluetooth. a lot of surprise extras as well like last parked, traffic and drive history
Sadly this app app fails to turn on the wireless hotspot on Android 10. I would recommend that this is made clear in the instructions.
Great app! Very easy way to connect my car to WIFI and it can also start an app of your choosing (Spotify for example)
Doest work as advertised. Hotspot cannot turn on automatically. Note 8, att unrooted.
The app doesn't work. It is not auto at all. Will not turn on tethering automatically.
Was working for about 2 weeks without issue. Now I have to turn app on automatically. Might as well just turn my own hotspot on myself.
When it works it works nicely, but not working at the moment. Please guys sort this out and I'll give you five stars. I think it may have something to do with Android 11

Doesn't work. I get in my car and app says it can't turn on my hotspot, and says I have to do it manually. It had one job...
Don't like that it requires GPS to be running. It will drain my phone's battery unnecessarily. So sad I updated.
Great work around app for a car that needs wifi to use apps. Saves me from having to pay for onstar to invade my privacy. I was a little worried it would affect my battery but not the case at all. The only odd thing is sometimes I get a failure notification even though nothing failed. It takes a few seconds for the connection to happen, and sometimes I lose the wifi connection for about a second or two then it picks back up. Not sure if that is the app or something else. I am using a Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact with Android Pi.
