Cartouche

Create a cartouche of Ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs.
Type your name (or any text, using the Latin alphabet) and see it rendered as hieroglyphs. You can flip between left-to-right or right-to-left text (the glyphs always face the direction you read from), and you can flip between rows or columns of hieroglyphs
- just use the buttons in the Action Bar at the top of the screen.

If you want a cartouche drawn around hieroglyphs, put parentheses around the parts that should be contained. For example, type '(Andre) the Giant' or '(Bonnie) and (Clyde)'.

Many one-letter and two-letter hieroglyphs are used, along with a small number of three-consonant hieroglyphs, some god names (Thoth, Anubis, Re, Heh), as well as a number of (English) phonetic simplifications.

You can save the cartouches (Menu->Save) to the Cartouches folder or share them to other applications (Menu->Share).

would be a lot more useful if it had a way to input Gardiner codes instead of just trying to guess which sign to use for each letter.

This is an exalent app however the developers should make the app reconise whole words and change the symbols,to match the, words instead of changing the letter, symbols every time a new letter is entered

Would be better with gods' names and other common Egyptian words like "ankh" showing up simplified the way "nefer" is. Nice app though, and looking forward to future updates.

The Hierglyphs aren't accurate (although aren't completely wrong by any stretch) and there's no way to type in Hieroglyphs instead of the Latin Alphabet. It's good if you just want something to look Egyptian and be roughly correct though. I felt I may have rated it a bit harsh earlier.

This app is fantastic! Good work. I am only missing the picture for the sound "men" which is a side view of a Senet game board. Would be cool to be able to use that sound also. Thanks guys!
