Cast for Roku | Screen Mirror

The ads make this app annoying. It stops what you're playing while it shows ads on your phone, which in my mind negates the purpose of what I need it for, which is longer viewing times. I can't even find an option to pay to remove ads. Otherwise, the app does what it advertises. I'll be looking for another app, though.

For 10/16/18 update: layout and design is better. The added "IR" remote, is that for the phones with the IR blaster on them or for off wifi? If for the special phones, I would still like to see an update to be able to control as a guest outside of the WiFi network. Could do a little better with the layout and overall design. Would like to see the app work without WiFi like Chromecast does l, eventually.

Roku needs to step it up as far as the casting features are concerned. I have tried on every app they have and I can't get it to work as well as I can with a fire stick. With the Amazon fire stick casting is a breeze, because they have web browser apps for your TV. Roku doesn't. And had i known I would have seriously reconsidered using Roku.

Terrible! Casts photos well then promptly puts an ad over most of the photo so you can't see it. Then when you click on the 'x' to get rid of the ad, instead of going away, the ad turns white stating, "closed by google", but the box stays in place blocking the pic. Happened with almost every pic I tried to look at.

App works good to cast to Roku, I can live with the ads, but I is constantly stopping and freezing and they only way to keep watching is to shut it down and restart, but then you have Fast forward to where you left off. Solve this problem and it would be an easy 5 stars for sure, I can live with the ads since it is a free app.

Says membership is free and card will not be charged. I tried to sign up twice with two different credit cards and was declined both times for being over limit bc they tried to charge me. Then it says in small print at the bottom it's a free 5 day trial and after $39.99 for premium monthly membership. Do not download!

I adore the Roku web cast application for screen mirroring. I use it in conjunction with the Roku control. When I upgraded to paid form, I saw an option to add a video to my line, but when I did it, it said that I required premium.

Screen mirror doesn't work at all. No browser integration, oppressive adds that are impossible to distinguish from actual app. Probably the biggest piece of garbage I've ever tried to use.

It sounds like an awesome app and exactly what I'm looking for to mirror to my tv and roku. Only problem is everytime I try to connect it cant find any devices and I'm sitting here scrolling through roku right now. If someone could help me figure this out I would give a much higher rating.

Good app to start. Recent "upgrade" eliminated the "Search" option in lieu of mixing ads in to my Video Library Thumbnails...which FORCES MY THUMBNAILS TO BE ATTACHED TO THE WRONG VIDEOS OR, WORSE YET, THE THUMBNAIL'S VIDEO NOT AVAILABLE AT ALL! Come on, folks, is an ad really worth loosing customers because we (1) cannot "search" our 400-500+ videos or (2) our vids = jumbled list or (3) our thumbs don't match the video? I've said it many times...only smoke ORGANIC! Your brains don't function

Doesn't work. I can use the remote on here to control my tv. So it's clearly connected. When hitting mirror says nothing is in range. Garbage

Downloaded to do screen mirroring. Tonnes of ads, like just about every single button click. And this app literally just opens the Android Cast settings menu. Thanks for nothing! :)

Bummer. Used to work but now it's telling me it can't find my device. They're both on the same network. Maybe a Roku firmware update tanked it.

No. 1 Mirroring for Roku is a myth (or a lie). Have Roku TV and it doesn't and never has worked No. 2 If I wanted a remote that works, I wouldn't have downloaded this app. Already have one. No. 3 This app has an amazing ability not to see other devices. Same for the TV. It's blind. No. 4 You get the idea

I know for sure that my devices are connected to the same network, did strength test and all that, but it will not recognize my Roku TV no matter how many times I "please refresh". Waste of time, data, memory, and also added frustration to the day.

It didn't work for what I wanted I wanted to be able to cast something off of the internet didn't work none of the websites were apparently supported which doesn't make any sense because it's a webcast which means that you look it up and then cast the video but the remote worked so extra star and I guess it also works for casting your music because apparently you would want to do that and casting videos that you downloaded to your phone

3.5 is my rating. Would give 4 or 4.5 but remote feature has no control over volume. Also IR feature is useless. As far as a basic bakup remote..... It serves purposes. All casting features work fine as low rent as they are, they function as advertise.

Cant scroll down to press the start button for the screen mirror function. Tried downloading it on another phone and had the same issue. I can scroll down on the remote screen to use all remote functions but have that major issue with the mirroring.

This app only shows what in your gallery. I have a roku smart tv, so i thought i would be about to cast apps that are on my phone but it didnt work it only cast photos and videos that you have taken and yes the ad cover the sceen on your phone

So it did not work for me. Pulls up my roku express and then it acts like it will work but there is "no connection to my device" I have followed the directions and my roku is set up for mirroring but it's obviously not working.

terrible, terrible, terrible. Can't stream from internet very well, and when it does the picture quality is horrific and the audio is unidentifiable. Going to by a chromecast in Hope's of a better result.

does the same thing as roku app but with ads. also the videos i want to cast to roku are downloaded movies, which never seem to appear as an option to cast. if it did then i would of dropped the roku app and used this one.

This application is hostile and extremely misleading. This evil application continually confuses the user with advertising that is not flagged as advertising and appears necessary to continued the use of the Roku app. You have to steel yourself to ignore the apparent parts of the roku application that are just ads attempting to get you to sign up for services YOU DON'T NEED.

Tried to get the app to work with my Roku systems (R3, R4 and my new TCL) & guess what? They do not exist on it's same band… Otherwise, it's a great file finder for my phone, but still it will go to the file 13 bin and get uninstalled.
