CastBox - Podcast Radio Music

The advertising is intrusive. EVERY time you open the application you have to wait to download an advertisement and dismiss it. Every time. That's too much. It would be nice if the suggested podcasts can be directly linked. When I like a suggestion and click on it I arrive in my basic podcasts window, then have to remember and search for the suggestion. A little thing but a nice to have.

Used it for years and I LOVED IT but then something happened around 9 months ago and now it constantly freezes and crashes. Every now and then I reinstall it (because honestly, ever other app just isn't as good as this used to be) just hoping the bug has been fixed and I can come back, but this is my forth time doing so and it's stuck in a loop of starting up, loading, crashing, and restarting over and over. Disappointing. Can you revert to how things were a year ago please?

It isn't the worst app I've tried, but it's far from the best. It crashes on a regular basis, which I think has to do with loading an ad. The full screen ads are intrusive, and I accidentally downloaded an app from one. I figured some ads are a trade off for an option outside a the Google monopoly, but not when it interferes with using the app. I really wish I could control what order it plays episodes. Can't control autoplay either, besides the sleep timer and not subscribing to the podcast.

Really great selection! Overall the commercial to content ratio varies pretty widely from podcast to podcast. I have found shows that are really awesome at an average of 1.5 hours long with just 30 second blips at the end that are spoken by the narrator. The most commercial and popular podcasts can get a little bogged down with commercial content, but that is what the 30 second fast forward option is for, lol. Overall, I am really glad I started using this App.

I really like this app... however there appears to be NO WAY to manually add a podcast address (RSS feed) which is really annoying. I enjoyed listening to "Checks and Balance" from The Economist but this has now 'disapppeared' from their search list (despite the fact that around 10 other Economist podcasts are still there). Not sure whether this was by design or just some error, but not being able to address the issue 'manually' is making me think of moving to some alternative app, which would be a shame as I have used this app for over three years quite happily...

The app crashes about every 5 to 10 minutes. Having me to re-open it and watching an add each time. Even with all my podcast added to my queue, you can't skip to the next podcast, and it does not play the next podcast in the queue. I came to this app because my ipod of 15 years finally stopped working. I'll be looking for another podcast player for my phone.

I can no longer go back to any other podcasts. The back button simply shuts the screen down and won't take me back to the main menu. I've restarted my phone and this is very frustrating. I'm deleting and going to have to find another player. I did enjoy when i could navigate the app instead of being stuck on one podcast.

I have used this app for five plus years. Has seriously tanked this year. Update: 3/16/22. App is the worst I've ever seen for ads. You cant open the app without getting an ad. Everything you do ends in an ad. Still has horrendous battery drain even on a pixel 6 pro. Complete garbage. Update to automated response: yeah there's sustainability and then there's this. Having to watch three ads just to open a podcast is rediculous. Making money from others must be hard.

I like the app, but my podcasts kept crashing in the middle of them. I thought maybe uninstalling and reinstalling would help as it's happened before. Now I sign back in and all of my podcasts are gone and instead I have a bunch I never subscribed to. Edit: they've randomly showed up but I still have random podcasts on there that I've never added. Hopefully they'll stop crashing

The app itself is pretty useable and quite functional, but the reccomendations are almost entirely for right-wing platforms. I don't know why the app feels I need to be bombarded with extreme Christian, conspiracy theorist or ultranationalist viewpoints. I've not seen any other viewpoint suggested so far either. So if you don't mind this aspect the app is acceptable in terms of functionality.

This app used to have very minimal ads, and you could close out of whatever "pop up" occurred immediately as it did so. But now, seems like since the start of 2020, the pop up ads occur way more frequently. And now you must wait through them for at least a few seconds every time. I understand ads are how a company profits, and a few seconds isn't all that long of a duration, but I still don't understand why they took away the option to skip immediately. What about that constitutes growth?

Too many ads and interruptions... trying to migrate and can't! Actually wanting to move from the lowfi purple version to the bells and whistles orange one (also prepared to pay ongoing subscription even tho I think that's a semi dodgy practice) and have JUST WASTED OVER AN HOUR attempting to a) export OPML anywhere that can be found b) import from old app into the new, using the new c) as a workaround castbox says "login and access library across devices and platforms" which is a lie...

Every single podcast I've ever seen quoted I've been able to find here. The options for displaying podcasts downloaded, played, etc, etc. are flexible and simple to use. No functional problems in two years of use. Ads are not intrusive and require no response or dismissal. A super app.

I thought I'd send you a message to say I'm am pleased with your podcast app BUT twice now I have lost all my downloaded episodes from every podcast I was following. It then takes me ages to download again and I don't know why or what is wrong. I normally switch my mobile off overnight which I have always done with other podcast apps, so before I find a more reliable app could you please let me know if there is anything I can do. I started to play an episode then realized that I had already listened to it, so I deleted it. However it kept playing anyway. I couldn't find a way to stop it since it wasn't showing up anymore. So I just started playing a different episode. Clearly that would stop the repeat.... NOPE. This very poorly made ap instead played both episodes at the same time! Seriously, how do you dumb progamers screw that up? Why are there apparently no podcast players that actually work?

I have never really gotten into podcasts until recently and I'm totally addicted. This app seems to have a great variety of podcasts and I've never had an issue with the functionality of it. 👍🏻 Recommended

For the first time in many many years, i have found a Fabulous, Creative, mind and spirit CAPTIVATING, "playground" of learning!! 5 Stars + ! So easy to use, navigate, and most of all, TOP QUALITY CONTENT, Professional, high stan yet suitability for all audiences, and ages! All these Podcast players have become nothing more than advertisement mills. Look, I get it… there's a price for "free"… but come on!!! There's no need to jam a freaking ad every 5 seconds! On top of that, the goddamned thing crashes every 25 to 40 seconds! And for the review moderators with the generic response, PLEASE Don't ask me to post a screenshot of it, because it consists of nothing more than your player crashing. There's no screenshot to be taken! Fix it damn it!

I'm new to podcasts so this is my first and only app so far. It feels pretty good very responsive. The one request I would have is to be able to search the titles, subjects, descriptions within one podcast stream to find the topics I'm interested in.

Highly recommend...Overall this is a good app. Navigating to add my favorite podcasts was a bit confusing to me at first. After three attempts (and some more coffee) I figured it out and added them with ease.
