Category Quiz (Trivia)
Since Version 2.0 of Category Quiz Google Play Games is integrated which allows you to compete with players all around the world by means of a global highscore list. Another big deal is the possibility to unlock achievements and earn experience points. You need to login with your Google account to enable this new features.Version 2.1 adds the so called "Image-Questions" where the question can only be answered with the help of a displayed image.Version 3.0 adds the multiplayer mode where up to 4 players of all around the world can match each other.

At the moment the questions are divided into the following categories:

- Botanical
Singleplayer-Mode=================
If all questions in a category are answered correctly you get 100 extra points. If the second category is completed, you get 200 extra points, for the 3rd Category 300 extra points, etc.
If a question is answered incorrectly the category gets "locked" and no more questions can be answered in this category.
If the question timer is used (can be enabled/disabled using the game options) the user has 30 seconds to answer the question. The faster the question is answered the more points you get (3 points for every remaining second). In addition the user has the possibility to get help using the 3 Jokers (50:50, stop timer, new question).
If you decide to start a "quick game" 6 categories are chosen automatically.
In a "normal game" you can choose your favorite 6 categories.
Multiplayer-Mode================
Multiplayer games can take place with up to 4 players. A round consists of 5 questions that has to be answered within 30 seconds per question. During a round you have always the chance to answer all 5 questions even if you fail to give a correct answer for a question. The 5 questions have ascending scores from 100 to 500. In addition to the score for a correctly answered question you get 3 extra-points for every remaining second.
The round is won by the player with the highest score. The game is finished when a player has won 5 rounds in total.
You have the option to challenge your Google friends, search for players nearby or automatically find players around the world (Automatch). The game option "Quick Multiplayer Game" starts a one-on-one multiplayer game. Your opponent will be an automatically chosen player from all around the world (Automatch).
! IMPORTANT!You have the possibility to enable/disable if the correct answer is shown in the case that you answer a question incorrectly in the "options" (in addition to that you can change the timespan the correct answer is displayed).

Sooo many ads, not to mention glitchy. If you're trying to save a category by watching an ad, sometimes it just doesn't work even when you watch the whole ad.
Preferred it before changes made! Level of difficulty has changed dramatically. As an educator previous level was better for most of your demographics.
seems pretty good. No social competing and it was last updated in 2020 so I don't expect any updates soon. Perhaps the developer has abandoned it.
some of the answers are in correct. ex: the largest animal that ever existed.... was not a blue whale, dinosaurs were much larger, and yet I got the answer incorrect. It has happened a few times. You need to check your facts. but other than that I like this app
Have just done the update and everything seems to be working fine! Thanks for your hard work, excited I can play this great game again! not sure when the problem started, I think it may have been with the update just before this one...
I've known this quiz app for more than 8 years now. Coming to download it ... all I was wishing is that it had not been taken down. This is a wonderful app, plus it's free, with those detailed pics.
good but still not giving credit sometimes after you watch the video. button is still red. and sometimes when the game is done the screen is stuck
A game similar to Jeopardy only different. Finally found this after a frustrating search for 3 years. Thanks for a wonderful game.
fun trivia game although some answers are incorrect such as the app refers to tomato as veritable but they are fruit and Disney's goofy is a moose but the app refers to him as a dog. There have been others I cannot remember but am in all a very fun app.
I've been out of college for 30y and the categories presented really let me know what I have remembered. Some are based on general knowledge of news, but good to know. I love this app.
Best quiz game ever. But the multiplayer can be improved - make sure that both the participants are online until the game ends.

Nice game but it keep crashing if I trying to sign in with Google 🙄 I have tried to reinstall multiple times and also I have tried on my partner smartphone and it does the same. What it could be? Thanks!
Great for someone who reads widely and has lots of curiosity! There are some questions even for children. Good multi-generational, family car game.
I used to like this quiz but lately every time i choose the option to watch an add to carry on with a quiz it blocks the quiz after the advert!
This is a great trivia game. It works well, questions are a good mix of subjects. Thank you for not killing it with tons of ads. I've tried other trivia games but this one is the best.
I like the actual setup, it reminds me of the game Jeopardy... However it's still kind of lame. it's okay if you're bored and you want something to kill time.
Easy and fun to play.I am thinking of playing this when lots of my family come to my house and using quick start and who ever has the highest score wins.I would love it even more if whenever they updated it, they added 1 or 2 more categories
Great game BUT too many freezes since update. Locked out so have to shut down tablet completely to be able to start again...hopefully fixed soon
This is a great trivia game. I like the varied questions. Some easy, some are hard. It plays well. I will let it stay on my phone
This app starts itself and displays notifications asking me to rate it. I haven't started it myself for months. Uninstalled because of this.
Great quiz game, I uninstalled it because there's no option to disable all notifications Edit: I completely forgot about that, thanks ^^
I enjoy this game but can you have a mode where the Category can still be playable even there is a wrong answer. Just deductbthe score from the player
Excellent app. Very enjoyable and you learn a lot. Keeps me entertained for hours. Doesn't cost you anything.

Keeps quitting and/or backing out of the game I am in. really cool idea but that bug makes it hard to play
generally very good but for some questions on American sports . which are a little obscure in the u.k.
Multiple new permissions added w/out any mention or explanation, & BOTH emails inquiring about them ignored. Update: Finally got a response, turns out one of the new permissions is for push notifications used for marketing. I don't necessarily mind ads, to an extent, as I understand the need for them, but they should not extend outside the app & it should be announced when they're added, not slipped in secretly. 3 stars for the explanation, but no more & uninstalling due to all of this.
