Used to be a perfect app. After this recent overhaul it's not working at all. I go to the sign in page, hit 'Sign In' and the app immediately switches to my browser and opens the Cathay sign in page. Fini really have to sign in with a browser? Anyway, even when I sign in properly it immediately goes back to the App sign in page. Where I'm not logged in. Its a circular failure.
Why is this update made everything worst. i cant book my seat, as i now have to go to the actual website, the press reader activation is no longer working. CX I select your airline because of the great and easy service of this app. Maybe it doesnt matter how we (non first class) customers think. But this is the last time I'll be using your airline. In such a competitive markets, you really have mess up and now lost one frequent customer.
I would re-emphasize several commets stating that this is the worst airline app that I ever used. It is user unfriendly, cannot even access details of my Marco Polo account, which is available on the iOS version. Guys, we are in 2018 and you aren't even able to get your app consistent across two systems? It's time to wake up a little, don't you think? Compare to BA app, it is not perfect but is decades ahead in term features and content available.
Their mobile website crashes or freezes all the time so I'm forced to download your app (I don't have access to a computer right now). However the app, for some reason, doesn't support multi city booking. You'd think a 98 billion HK$ company could hire some decent web developers to fix their online presence, which is where 99% of their bookings are made. It's like you want me to choose another airline.
Awful app to log into. The architecture behind the way CX handles passengers is horrible... Why have three ways of identifying members - registered, asia miles and Marco polo?! Whenever I open the app, it always asks me for a different way to log in. So frustrating. The remember me option doesn't work after a few months. Too irritating to use.
When i was making my payment, the app lagged and went back into the credit card page, i thought the payment didnt go through so i entered my details again however i received a message from the bank informing me about my payment. I almost double booked the same ticket!! After that, i saw my booking on the app and after awhile i checked the app again and my booking details was gone! Im so confused right now
Bad experience! The App (also the website) is really bad, not often had such an confusing app. Even when you find the functions your looking for they are not working. Had 10minutes just to register, than I an error when I wanted Checkin, could add my journey to upcoming flights, ...
Password policy is more stringent than my brokerage account (are you taking yourself too seriously as it certainly didn't help prevent your data breach - sorry to say) and the API response is too slow. UX is awkard with too many steps for frequently used tasks such as checking departure gate/time, e-boarding pass and seat selection. Do you guys even use your own app when traveling?
The sign in section on the mobile app redirects me to a new static page which then requests me to sign in or register new account. I click the 'sign in' button and then directs me to my web browser for the webpage log in...I recycled the installation with same results. Extremely frustrating; I have been using this app for years without problems until now!
It displayed a notice when I try to pick a seat. Since then, I couldn't proceed and have to restart the app. What's worse was that when I tried to check in again, ot said because of technical error, I need to check in at the airport. I used many airlines app to check in. This us so far the worst. I then tried the web. It's also down. It was down the night I bought the ticket and I waited for a few hours. Now it is down again when I check in. Is this a 3rd world airlines.
the apps is not user friendly... u cant choose higer fare basis. so strange... the web is even make you more frustrated. this frustration make me change to fly with other airlines instead. where has the old friendly user apps and web gone? it was onecof the best. you should put more conncern and solve this problem fast or you will loose more customers
You can't force to upgrade before use. I am in China and can't upgrade with Google in China! This is such a fundamental error on your developer's part. I want to buy your product while in a car in Shenzhen going to HKG AIRPORT. But since you make it so hard, I will just buy from China airlines since their app is usable. No words...
Can't even click any buttons in the app.After opening the app,it just keeps on asking me to update it tp the latest version.After clicking "Update Now",the app displayed in PlayStore is already the latest version & only "Open" and "Uninstall" buttons are available. Great if you can fix this issue.
It keeps on crashing when I open the app! I have the newest version and I even uninstalled and installed again. I have a flight today and tomorrow and need the app to be updated on notifications from CX, seeing that they ONLY post news on the app and nowhere else! FIX THIS
They won't let foreign residents of Taiwan use mobile boarding pass or the checkin kiosks, forcing us to instead wait in line to get our IDs checked even though we may have no luggage to check. Other airlines just check the ID before you board. To make all this worse, they told I needed to send any complaints to the company by post. Don't use this app, don't fly Cathay
Only good for making/viewing bookings. Can't make changes and no online help. Only contact by a number that doesnt work. The last time I will book with Cathay as this booking has just been a total mess that they have failed to deal with correctly
Totally useless. First the app wouldn't allow me to make an account and directed me to the website to make an account. Then, the app couldn't find my flight. Even after I went to the website and checked in with my flight info, the app STILL couldnt find my flight. If it can't handle basic information, why would I trust it to book future flights? Warning to the users: Use at your own risk.
After complaining that I couldn't login the developer suggested that the problem is solved with the new version 6.10.4. Unfortunately I still couldn't using the Opera browser. Had to switch to Chrome before I can get in. I am being forced to use a different browser. A bit miffed.
Complicated, not user friendly, the back button does nothing. Can't easily link my booking to this app. It's ridiculous. Also need to link Asia miles. Your flight is not call Asia Miles. It's Cathay Pacific. I'm so confused and wasted so much time trying to add my booking to this.
I am a Samsung Note 9 user and I have been using this app for years without any problem, but since 31 January 2020, it keeps crashing every time I started the app. I reinstalled the app and it crashes again when I tried to log-in. Please fix this.
Tip: Don't use with Asia Miles account. Asia miles suddenly suspended account for no reason given, while travelling with Cathay. Flight heavily delayed but couldn't use the app to get any information because of this, just when you *need it the most*. Asia miles is giving no response for days, therefore cannot update app with any new flight information. Totally worthless app to me.
Stuck in a continuous "Update Now" loop. Even uninstalling and reinstalling doesn't solve it. Developer suggested I upgrade to iOS 13 or later, but that is an Apple platform and my device is an Android (Samsung) phone.
Sadly this app has gone downhill. It's very buggy... A lot of the time a flight search doesn't produce results, it just spins until you force the app to shut down.
Hi, I got the similar problem like others that the app was asking me tp update. I've already uninstalled the app and download again the app from Play Store twice. Same "Update" message popped up.
Completely useless. Added a booking and it doesn't show up anywhere on the app. Trying to add it again shows an error message saying it is already added.
Has potential BUT I made 2 Bookings for 2019 and only one of them appears in the App. The first set of flights shows up, but not my second trip. The App lets me go online to Cathay Website to see all my bookings are confirmed and ticketed but does not retrieve the second trip so can be seen from the App. So therefore can't be managed. I noticed also that the App does not seem to be able to book a multi city journey. Just One Way or return.
