Catholic Bible App
It is a translation of the Bible from the Latin Vulgate into English made by members of the Catholic seminary English College, in France (Douai). Nearly all Catholic versions are based in this foundation.
Between 1749 and 1752, the translation was revised in order to improve readability and comprehensibility. In 1790 it was first published in America and then many editions followed in the 19th and 20th centuries, among them the Douay-Rheims 1899 American Edition Version.

Am I missing something. Can not figure out how to start audio where I last left off. It will not let me start at a specific verse. In fact, I can't find a way to go to any verse, only chapters. If you can tell me how then I could give a better rating.

Chapters are missing in Psalm.
Not the version I am looking for. Need the NRSV edition.
I can see from reading the reviews that most people don't know that the verses in all Douay Rheims Bibles are a bit off kilter compared to later editions of Catholic bibles. For example the 23rd Psalm is the 22nd Psalm in the Douay Rheims. This is because in 17th century England it was against the law to print a Catholic bible there. So it was printed in France. And so in France the printers and compilers made a few errors along the way. And for reasons unknown to us those errors were never corrected in any of the later printings of the Douay Rheims. The people who made this app are not to blame. The blame rests upon the people who compiled and printed this version of the bible roughly four hundred years ago.
Nice app, confussed why so different from our regular bibles. Like chapters and verses are off.
