The Douay-Rheims Bible is an English translation from the Latin Vulgate Bible, the official Bible of the Catholic Church used in papal masses. It's commonly known as Douay Bible. The name is based in the fact that the translation was produced at the English College at Douay. The College has migrated to Rheims and editions were printed there as well.
Douay and Rheims are English spellings of the french towns of Douai and Reims. This Bible date to 1582 for the New Testament and 1609 for the Old Testament.

It is very appropriate for our modern age. The additional features of highlighting and sharing a bible text through social media makes that distinction and also the audio added can be used in a classroom context. I will share it to my friends.
I rated it 5 because it really suits on my preferrences and it can easily be shared on your facebook time line. . . You can change the mode from white to night mode to minimize the battery consumption. They really give value of their works. That's mattered alot.
Great to be able to put notes on passages and have favorites in a list you can create for easy access. And totally offline, very important to me.
Very convenient to use the bible. However it would be nice if the latest English version is updated. It still contains classic english words like thou, thee, havest, giveth.....
It is a good app( Bible) . Though if they could include daily readings we wouldn't have to have two apps for both the bible and where to get daily readings.
Quite good as an app, works on an old 2015 phone with no memory. The targeted anticatholic advertisment prosletyzing though would keep me from reccomending it.
it's good and easy to read but no possibility of looking for a verse (ref while reading ) from what one is reading.
I have always read the NIV & the New American STD & king James Bibles.. I downloaded the Catholic one just to compare the differences which is, Catholic Bible has more in some chapters & book,. eg:. Sirach, Baruch & Maccabees, these are the only difference I have found so far, but i will carry on reading. I was brought up Catholic many years ago, at that time mass was in latin. I left & went to the Baptist church.
It's quite remarkable.This is a good companion to every catholic who wishes to have the seven books that are not in the protestants bible.The audio makes it awesome and much easier to use
I love the bold print and its very easy to use. its also social media friendly. i love it most because i dont need internet service to access it.
Very accessible and easy reading although the used of the "old English" makes it difficult.
English is not my major languange, after installing this Catholic Bible, I can hear and learn the Bible better in English. thank you so much for this application..
I istalled this app. And it never was able to open. Saying app is not responding. I was looking foward to reading this great book. Unfortunatly i had to uninstall
Large print and easy to add notes to verses. I would give it 5 stars if this Bible was more interactive and educational.
Tha app is good and easy to use. I find it interesting especially when in a hurry to look up a portion of the bible.

good app however it is hard to read for the broken English. I have read several different versions of the Bible, this one is hard

it's been long I have been wanting to get this version of the Bible and I am glad to have finally gotten the e-copy. Truly the app is easy to use
1. Ancient English language not in consonant with contemporary Engliah language. 2. Numbering of verses in some books like Psalms not serially consistent.
I very much like The Catholic Bible BUT it is written in old English. That's my only problem. Is there no modern English version of it?
It is easy to access, it has no adverts, you can consentrate when reading, fonts are exellentp

It has all the books, the fonts are good and is easy to read.
It is a useful app but the english used is a bit difficult to follow. Also the psalms are totally wrong, wish it would be corrected as soon as possible because it is the only handy version of the Bible for some and especially for new users. Really cant afford to have any mistakes in the Bible
