Catholic Study Bible App

Out of all the apps I have tried, this one is clearly the best. Though the ui is pretty good, it could improved in a lot of ways. Especially if you could let the user switch to the next chapter by swiping horizontaly. Also I wish the audio feature was cheaper. I am from India, and the price is just ridiculous for me. But from the preview I can see the audio is really good. The only other thing is, I would it to go straight to the Bible when I open it instead of to the main menu. Nice, God bless!

Great app. It is easy to navigate and it's great to have the full RSV2CE text at hand on mobile. One thing that is distracting is the little red tab for additional content. I wish there was a way to turn it off. Another thing that is confusing is the in-app purchase for the study Bible. When tapping the purchase, it only says New Testament, and there is no separate purchase for the Old Testament, so I am a bit wary of making the purchase and finding that I only get one.

Great translation and notes, but it is slow to load, has weird navigation, some content is hard to find (like book intros), no audio for the Old Testament, and get this: ABSOLUTELY NO STUDY NOTES FOR THE PSALMS. (!!??) Also, don't waste your money on "Audio Study Notes", they're just little clips of sermons, often repeated, and only linked to a few New Testament verses. Great video content but only for "rent". Bummer. Both fantastic and disappointing. I hope they upgrade this promising app.

Great app, would recommend. Excellent audio version of the New Testament and helpful study notes, if you decide to go for the additional purchase. A little slow to load when opening the app. Also, I had to keep the app window open to prevent the download interuppting when I saved the audio to my phone. Plenty to like about this Bible app!

The content is great but the layout and buttons are not very intuitive. The app continually freezes on me, especially in the home screen. It's frustrating to use, too because everytime I want to look up a verse it takes me through the same buttons (I.e. Choosing which bible, which testament, etc.)

I love your app, but I almost can't use it because of the small red flags with numbers that appear on every Bible screen, and they're very distracting. That is a cheap commercial marketing trick that has no place in a screen where someone is trying to read scripture and reach out to the living God. it would be okay to solicit donations (as a one-time popup, or something) but there has to be some way to get rid of that red flag.

I found the accessible parts of this app very easy to use and quick to load. The extra content looks very useful & inspiring. I downloaded the app for the study portion, only to find that it costs a minimum of $19.99 ($29.99 if I want the nt audio), & I can't afford the extra expenditure. Virtually all of the wonderful looking content is costly so I will delete the Catholic Study Bible & stick to more Catholic apps that don't try to fleece me at every turn. I like "Laudate" and YouTube.

If it didn't take 2 minutes to get into the app, this would be a good app. Trouble is that it runs a foreground search for whether you have purchased anything or not before you can go into any menu. No option to turn it off like the auto check for content updates.

Best Bible App I've ever used. Tried numerous others. I love the way we can make notes, do highlights and was initially a tad wary of the in-app purchases. But I finally bought it and find it absolutely worth it. The Bible commentary and Bible cross references are a joy to use and makes understanding scripture so much easier and spiritually enriching. The audio playback function for scripture is very professionally done. Thank you so much for a wonderful app!!!

Great app, but it took me a while to realize that you could tap on the heading to go easily to any book, chapter and verse. The links that appear in the comments also make it very easy as well to link to related passages elsewhere, and then go back to where I was. Commentaries are very insightful.

Best Bible app I've used. And I've tried quite a few. I love the in app purchased Bible study notes. It makes Bible study quicker, more effective and so much more interesting. The dramatic audio was so spiritually professionally done. It's one app that makes me excited and facilitates the deepening of my Catholic faith.

Downloaded app to smart tv. App looks nothing like the example pages displayed here. And the lighthouse media content that you may already own is not accessible via this site without repurchasing. Support says that there should be a "restore purchases" option....but this does not exist. You are better off creating an account on FORMED because this app does not work well. And customer service or support is nearly non-existent. Definitely do not recommend.

I loved the old version of this app that gave you bible study ans interpretations for free. Even though it crashed often, I still used it because of the great study notes. Now you have to pay to see the study notes. I am disappointed. Catholics need all the help we can get, and this is discouraging.

Really frustrated as I cant just search for a random scripture passage. Reading with the Holy Spirit leading, this would be a great option. And if it is actually there, already spent 10mins trying. Obviously not that easy

Could be better if they didn't have their hand out all over the app. I looked for one price but they were evasive. Half the podcasts and talk presentations I can get something like it on YouTube or podcasts for free. Yes you have bills to pay ,so do I. Dont nickell&dime me. Going to delete this.

The app is good but it is always difficult to lauch the app if you are not online because it keeps on freezing as it tries to connect to online purchases. If you can fix that it would help.

I have this bible in print and love It! Though, I would like to purchase the footnotes that are in my printed copy. I paid $20.00 to purchase this app, but was disappointed the entire printed version with footnotes, maps and dictionary was NOT included. Why not publishers? Now i find out i have to make a seperate purchase. Not right or truthful of your company.Thank you.

I just paid over $21 for the audio on this app and it shows in my bank account that it's been taken out, but the app does not show that I purchased it. I'm not very happy with this app right now. I have trouble seeing and all I have is an Android phone so the print is very small. I thought with audio this would be the perfect app, but I was wrong. It's not right to take someone's money and not give them what they paid for....

I just want a simple index to pick a Bible chapter and start reading. No index, search is unfriendly to use, can't seem to figure it out no matter what I do. Too bad, because I always liked lighthouse but they over complicated this.

installed your application. It uses ".ino" data type modifier. Why, opening GDrive file selects your application by default. HOWEVER, ".ino" is used by Adruino application source files. I would ask Adruino to change use of the ".ino" qualifier only I don't think they will get 1000+ programmers to make that change. So humbily ask you. You can now user more than 3 characters for your file type qualifier. Would you consider it?

I purchased the NT study bible audio for 19.95 , but I can only get Jn. I don't know who to call about this. It was purchased through The Catholic Company, morning offering. Whenever i try another section I'm told i have to purchase it for 19.95. I have found the index and that is easy to use once i figured it out.

Access to full Bible texts without purchase. Not the easiest to navigate between books, but purchase is only required for commentaries and extra content, not the scriptures.

This app has helped me with so many different things. But most of all the fact that In Ignatius Press is so solid to Christ and his church is a plus. The only problem I have is I own the cds and book version and they want me to by it all for the app too. I refuse.

Doesn't work. Installed multiple times. Hangs, frozen, unable to access any features. Sorely disappointed as this is my favorite English translation.

Superb App to access God's Word on the go everyday, anytime, anywhere. Works offline as well. The Free version has the Bible text, paid version has Audio and study tools.
