It still works great! But you have to look for a way to emulate the 'Menu button' on newer Android versions. Which is quite easy.
A great app in it's day, but unfortunately no longer usable from Android 10 as the system menu button is no more, and you cannot access the bottom menu. Use Matlog instead which is a shameless clone of CatLog, with proper credit to Nolan Lawson.
Great app. I reinstalled, but the app isn't recognizing my prior purchase. The app is sending my back to GPS to upgrade, donate, but the upgrade app is not found. please fix.
To other users, use the Widget to record your log to a text file . Then access it from a file manager. I'm running LOS 17+, with no problems.
says cannot obtain root, so I'll see only catlog's logs, in matlog app, I've to run some adb commands, give permission, and it works fine I'd recommend that app over this for features and material design
In android 10 the menu option is not available to save log...it worked fine with android 9.. 0please do fix it as soon as possible
Stopped working, logs won't load anymore, last update 3 years ago - pick a better alternative
Was a good app but it no longer works on Android 10 probably due to the permission changes
They said it needs Root access in Jellybean devices but in my MM device it need Root Access. Waste app. UNINSTALLING.
WORTHLESS to normies, can not use unless you void phone warranty with root access, what a waste of time
maybe you add "os.android.READ_LOGS" permissions in your code in order to avoid the need for rooted devices ?

why are tgey requiring root on all apps now?? some of us need/want to know access without rooting...

It works as stated in that you can see catch any random force close when trying to figure out an issue, however it seems dev needs to code the menu button for lollipop up. Seems only coded for dedicated hardware button and not soft keys. The 3 dot menu option is not available. This essentially makes the tool useless to me as I need to extract and email the logs. Dev please update app
I originally DLed this app to help a developer debug his game. It came in handy a few other times as well for other apps. Recently, however, when I tried using it, I discovered that with the new version of Android, CatLog is blocked from seeing what other apps are doing. It is now effectively useless, unless I decide to root my phone--and maybe one day, I will, but not now. I'll keep it anyway, just in case things change.
Said my device tablet had to be rooted n it would only see the catlogs of the app itself.
It shows only log about touch and scroll the listview, I did not see any other log
This is missing the feature to save logs. Logcat Reader can record the log activity to any folder you choose. Part of examining logs is about sharing them to get help and having a file for later reference, and I don't have any use for a log reader if I can't see the logs except when they occur in the viewer. I can tell this app is well designed, so I hope the developers will add this basic feature to improve it.
