Love the shows but can't resume play. Possible on podcasts but you have to click back to original podcast page instead of resuming in stream. And at least once a year whole app crashes. Have to reinstall, and lose saved shows, numerous times before the app functions again. Kind of embarrassing for Canada's national network. Maybe your developers could poach ideas from BBC's radio app.
I really enjoy CBC content, but this app makes it impossible to consume the programming easily. It also has frequent issues loading episodes and now it is crashing every time I launch it. The app was better before the redesign. Since then, it is a constant impediment. The second star in this review is because, if you know exactly what you want, and if the app is functioning, you can get content very easily. Get your act together CBC. This is embarrassing.
This app that I used daily began doing odds things & eventually stop launching at all. I posted my frustrations here. This morning I saw there was an update which I installed & the app is back. That's great BUT when I select to search On Demand I get "sorry something went wrong" with a blank screen, and the search function is back to being stupid: I search under All for "news", "world report", "because news" and all returned zero results! So how do I find segments & podcasts??
The app is crashing. It removed my favourite shows. I uninstalled the app, re-downloaded it. Now it won't open. It crashes before I can even start listening. I've sent a message to feedback through the website. FIX IT.
Help!!! I have used and loved this app for a few years now and it's suddenly stopped working! I've uninstalled and reinstalled it's still not working. I miss my CBC podcasts! Please fix bugs!
Some earlier issues (Android) seen to have been fixed, including pause on lock screen, and sleep timer. However new issue just arose where all previously saved favourites have disappeared - shows the number, but no content
The app is decent when it works. I use it everyday. Every few months, the app will cease to open/function. I'm a bit disappointed to hear so many other users have issues as well and no update to resolve this. The content deserves five stars, the app deserves one, maybe two at best.
Keeps crashing. All of a sudden all my favourites have disappeared. I started to search and reload but the "Radio" has nothing listed to load. And then I get a message box telling me the App has closed. May 21, 2022 Rating revised from 3 stars after CBC fixed the problems. But I still had to restore my favourites.
Great programs but it doesn't remember recents well at all! Have to Search the same show every week! UI needs to be more user friendly. It tends to cut out mid-stream too.
The app is crashing and dropping it's connection every 5 - 7 minutes. My phone is giving me warnings of high battery usage from this app. Currently using other sources for news and radio. Maybe they'll get their act together some day.
Stopped working completely for two days now... tried uninstalling, rebooting phone and reinstalling. No difference. The app crashes immediately when launched. This app has always been buggy but now it's completely broken. I'm using Galaxy S20.
Very good app. It has had glitches but they have been fixed within a day. Thanks. On Android, make sure to give the app file access if you want to download shows to the phone.
Streaming doesn't show up as controllable media in my notifications (or, consequently, any bluetooth device controls); the only way to pause a stream is to manually re-open the app and stop it there.
Please fix the bug, it kept crashing since your last update I should not have deleted the app to reinstall it, I can no longer access the app. may 18 2022, thank you for fixing the bug.
app does not work - i used it for the last few years and then recently it quit working - I uninstalled and reinstalled the app several times and still will not work - the app developers need to do some work !!!
UI and UX is horrible. Why can't I create a playlist with radio show segments? The app is limited to just listening to a show segment, then when it's done I can start another one, and that's it. I really hope cbc comes to their senses and puts all their radio shows on podcasts that can be used with third party podcast apps. 2 stars because audio quality and technical aspects are flawless.
Keeps cutting out, turning itself off, very annoying and other radio stations do a much better job of having a flawless experience! Fix it, fast.. You have an obligation here as our national radio station! I feel very disappointed at this point 😞
Won't open, crashes immediately when trying to launch it. Google pop-up says the app has a bug and to try updating when the developer updates it.
This app has worked well for me for years. Recently, it would not play any on demand programs. I Uninstalled it and downloaded the app again. Now the app will not even open on my phone.
Search function yields 0 results when searching for The World this Hour, The World This Weekend, and World Report. This was using simple terms such as "CBC" and "news". Favourited The World at Six but when I go to my favourites section of my profile nothing shows up. Everything seems to be back to normal after the latest update.
I want to love this app but it's missing some key features. 1. When I get a push notification for a news story and then click on it, the app opens but does not take me to the news story that I was eager to hear. What's worse, I can't seem to find it in the app search function. 2. I would love to be able change the listening speed on podcasts and news stories.
