Disappointing eReader. It doesn't open the book I'm reading when i open the app; instead it goes to my library. It doesn't keep my phone on, so if a page takes "too long" to read, my screen turns off. The app uses haptic feedback for EVERY touch, which is inappropriate. There are almost no controls on Settings to customize the app experience. In short, i tolerate this reader only because it's the only way to read my eBooks from CBD.

Sorry but this app is not aging gracefully. Book controls on my s9+ are very unpredictable. Sometimes you tap the bottom of a page and I actually reversed one page instead of going forward. Swiping right or left will advance more than one page and theres no way to see the text between the bottom of the previous page and the page that comes up. No highlighting of text. No copying of text. I have 4 books in CDB Reader and I feel like they're trapped there.

Cannot open two sample books. I try to select them but it takes me to the homescreen and gets stuck. I can open other books, including samples. Just not those two. I have uninstalled and reinstalled but it didn't help. I've also had other problems in the past but it's been awhile since I used it so I will update this review if I need to.

This app does not work at all. I downloaded it to my tablet and to my phone. The book cannot be accessed from either device. The app crashes over and over on both devices (androids), despite uninstalling and reinstalling, and relogging in. I can't read my book as an e-book directly from the library either - I am always directed to download the app and download the book.

Everytime my screen goes black or I leave the book I return to a new page, 2 or 3 pages from where I was last reading. This is very frustrating. No page numbers to refer to which would make it easier to find previous page. Reader is not user friendly and it's the only way I can read the ebook I purchased. Disappointed.

Used to work great. Then quit working on my nook, so I was forced to read on my phone. Screen is much smaller so it's not as enjoyable to read. When I do try to download them on my phone it takes forever or it just never downloads. Forcing me to delete the app and reinstall, which is what I'm doing now. I have spent a good chunk of money on ebooks here when it was working great and now it's a headache to try to read them. I wish it could be fixed to be downloaded on my nook again.

Do not buy ebooks from Christianbook unless they fix this. In its current state it is almost unusable. You cannot highlight or copy text and it skips pages when you try to swipe or tap to the next page. Very frustrating that it cannot do the basic tasks of a functioning e-reader!

Books marks do not work properly. There are no page numbers to reference. Turning pages doesnt always work and sometimes you are taken to a different part of the book instead of the next page. It is sad that a Christian app is so horrible. As Christians, we should set the standard and it should be high. This App does not make Christians or God look good.

I see some great titles in E books. Some sound 💯 relevant to my current struggles, however, I cannot purchase ebooks from this company again, until they allow other readers to be used. This thing feels like confusion from Satan! I was excited to get a Bible to follow along with my church for Bible study. Instead, I felt like just going home because of the confusion with this app! Page numbers and allow Amazon Kindle please! It is FAR FAR SUPERIOR! I can't do business with this company anymore.

Many times, clicking links within texts doesn't work. Even after clicking several times, I won't be redirected to the appropriate texts. Also, the load times for downloaded books is a bit absurd. I wish I could get a refund for the book purchased. Thankfully the other two were free.

I purchased a book which asked me to download this app. to read it. Trouble is, the (Bible) links didn't work. In fact even the purchased book kept disappearing. I reset the app. and the download a few times but to no avail. To the companies credit, I asked for and received a refund. It looks like a lot more work needs to be done before this becomes viable. I hope they can achieve that in the future.

If I could give zero, I would. This new, updated app is as bad as old version. I had to upgrade to a better tablet to keep using the new app. Keeps losing last page read. I have to scroll through to find my place. Sometimes it struggles to open the book. I have to close the app and reopen. Please get a tech team who knows how to program! This is the WORST app. I'm done for awhile. Will read paperback books I have already read. FIX this app, please!!!

You would think a newer version would be better, but I swear it got worse if that is possible. Needs work to be really good. Navigation within a book is very difficult. Wish i would have purchase my books in Kindle instead.

App cuts off ends of chapter even if text is set to lowest size setting. There you are in the middle of a sentence Then nothing...... Tap next and the next chapter starts. Horrible coding it should not do this. Fix this now or I will never use this product again. Going to ask Amazon to credit back the e-reader version and send me the physical book. This app makes my purchase of the e-book useless.

You have to download the book every time you want to read. The app cuts off the end of most chapters. Some of them in mid-sentence. This is a very poor app. I regret that I was forced to glorify it with one star. *EDIT* It has stopped making me download every time I read. It is still cutting off the ends of the chapters. One star is still too high.

It's clear from the reviews that many, many people are having trouble using this app. I have been unable to even download any of the many ebooks I have (with one exception). Previously ebooks could be downloaded so I could read them using my ebook reader. Now they have to be read either with this app or on my desktop. I ask the app writer, please can you fix the app so it works properly. It does a great disservice to the customers otherwise and it puts off others from purchasing ebooks from CB.

It's quite clunky. Scrolling pages sometimes shoots across more than one. I discovered the bookmark helps find the progress when swapping devices, but an auto refresh each time would be handy.

I purchased a book, downloaded it and began reading. the chapter's were in the middle of a sentence and when I moved screen to next page, it was a new chapter!! right in the middle of a sentence. will not recommend this app unless something is done. and furthermore, i'd like my money returned.

Unfortunately I downloaded the app after I had already bought an eBook. The app is so user unfriendly. I can't underline or highlight text. Reading on the website is unavailable from my android phone, and when I tried it on my laptop, it's still user-unfriendly. There are so many great books on this site; I really hope developers will improve the app and the site.

This latest version doesn't always connect. Unable to access my book. 8/8/2020 Forced to login again. No option if you forget your password. No option to keep the book local on your device. It takes awhile to download my on book and even after it does it seems stuck on trying to locate the page I was in. Currently unable to access my book.

I cannot get in on my android phone. It asks for an email and password but I did not have a choice for signing up or forgot email or forgot password. I ordered a book and do not remember even signing up for an account but there is no apparent way to sign up. I think they just took my money and ran.

[Updated 10/20/21] I quit using the app 2yrs ago because it became useless. Now it crashes *every time* or fails to load resources at all. I'm very perturbed that I purchased the "CSB Study Bible" and can't navigate the resource because of it failing to load or crashing shortly after opening. IF THE APP CAN'T BE FIXED then resources >should be able to be used by third-party reader apps; *refunded* or store credit should be offered< since CBD apparently can't fix the issue!

This app doesn't format well on smartphones. For example, I bought The Battlefield of the Mind Bible by Joyce Meyer / Faithworks, expecting to read it. (I don't want every book I seek to read in physical form). However, this app ceases to work when I want to read Scripture. Along this, other texts I've bought show primarily in plain text.

One star for new app only because I can not give zero. First I couldn't download books. After talking and emailing with CBD, books finally downloaded, but now the book won't open. Link they sent to download old app does not work. So now I either by a new tablet or go back to paperbacks. Very poor tech knowledge for a big company. And very little concern for the customer. What a disappoinment.

The first book I read downloaded ok except the last page(s?) of some chapters were missing. After that, I can't download any books. It just says "download in progress" but never does. Very frustrating.

Worst app! After purchasing 8 books (4 books and 4 study books) I am disappointed because I'm unable to read a full chapter because it skips pages. I have tried adjusting the settings with no results. What a waste of money!

I purchases an eBook and was forced to install this app in order to read it. The app has an option to reformat the book and then shuts down everytime I try to reformat. Terrible app! I submitted feedback when the app closed the first time and got no reaponse. I would give zero starts if I could.
