CBT Nuggets - IT Training App

This is next to useless, it take ages to update your progress, it's navigation is awful. But the worest part is casting, totally useless, it will play one clip then return to the CBT screen, with videos for newer courses getting shorter and shorter you end up fighting with the app and Chromecast every few minutes. This is not a cheap service and this app is useless. When my subscription runs out I think I'm going to try INE, hopefully their videos are longer than 3 minutes each.

Videos are great, but the app has a few really annoying features. If you want to watch a video and then take the related quiz it's annoying because it switches to the next video. Then you have to back out, go back to the last video, it starts from the beginning so it's no longer marked complete in the list, then you can take the quiz. Even if you have "autoplay next video" turned off. Seems unintentional. Still worth using, I imagine it will get fixed.

While I love CBT Nuggets, I really don't like the Android app. The home page is all about viewer stats which seems like a waste of valuable space. I find it difficult to jump back into a course where I left off on the PC. The courses appear to be fragmented when using search etc, for example searching for Microsoft MD-100, the videos are broken up into sections, but I can't see which course number those sections belong to. I'd suggest looking at how other video providers structure their apps

CBT Nuggets is definitely not a budget IT training provider but it is definitely worth the money if you really want to learn something. They have a great selection of some of these IT training courses and videos that you will find anywhere. My only complaint would be that the app makes it a little more difficult to locate a course and that there are sometimes issues with resuming a video after pausing it when you are also casting that video to your TV.

My company pays for the subscription and the service is great. Being able to utilize on mobile makes life a bit better. The quizzes don't work well on mobile, though. Questions that are mix and match don't work because you can't drag on mobile. Probably issue on the company that hosts the quizzes. I think it was Transcender. That said, the quiz quality is awesome.

overall the app is helpful beyond what I could just write with words. I'm on the road a lot and it allows me to keep learning on the go. one thing that I would like to point out, is that the quiz resets when the screen flips from landscape to vertical modes. it's honestly not that big of a deal if you are learning the material. Overall fantastic app.

Based on content alone I would give the app 5 stars, however, there are performance issues with the app that make it less favorable than the website. My main complaint is that it doesn't always pick up where I left off if going between desktop/mobile. It is good for on the go learning when my computer isn't accessable.

Excellent! I am very happy with this well put together app. All features seem to be fully functional. I enjoy that I can comfortably learn on the couch with the casting feature while answering questions from my mobile for validated minutes. My only want would be better functionality for driving. It seems the audio stops if the screen locks. I would like to be able to learn during my commute.

The material offered is generally pretty good. The app itself could use a little work, I think it could be made a bit more intuitive and fluid. I think it should be easier to navigate a specific course and it's sub fields such as videos, practice questions, notes, etc. Further breaking it down in a tree format

Great app that's relatively easy to use, but I wish it had a few more features such as the ability to create playlists from within the app. I've also run into some issues where the video playback stalls out even though I'm on a strong home network. I'm also not a huge fan of the interface with the various courses. I wanted to be able to organize them by level, and couldn't find a way to do so. Overall I love the app, but a few more tweaks would make it amazing.

App does what it's supposed to do, training on the go. Only irritating thing I've found is that going from portrait to landscape and back again resets the quiz for the nugget that you're viewing. Not a deal breaker, just annoying. The widget is pretty useless too. Just opens the app.

CBT Nuggets is a fantastic resource for learning IT material from instructor created videos. The cost is steep for personal use but the quality of material is good. The only thing I dislike about the app is navigating your existing playlists causes the first video to auto play, which is annoying but not terrible. As an aside, for those seeking CCNA, the material is good enough but ill maintain my stance of using more than one resource just in case one author covers a topic in an easier manner for the student. If anything, multiple resources offers multiple perspectives.

I've always heard about cbt nuggets and I'm finally able to use it. So far the instructors are great. The video are not boring and actually show what they are talking about. I've seen other videos online and they can be boring. I also like how you can see how long your friends have spent watching videos. Can't wait to really use this app to further my career.

Good supplemental resource while studying. Helps drive points home from one of the many books out there. Also gives an idea of how the concepts can be applied in the real world. Edit: Forgot to mention. The matching questions on the quizzes don't work on mobile. I try to drag an option and it won't move. Also unable to scroll to see the placement options. I have to change device orientation. Which doesnt matter anyway since i can move the options :/

Training content is excellent. The two stars is for the app. I find it really difficult to navigate the course content and often find the first 5 minutes is locating the last place I left off. Surely we can get a better and clearer navigation system.

Transitioning to IT at 42 years old was not an easy task and took a lot of hard work. CBT Nuggest made the process easier by producing content that sticks. The team at CBT Nuggest presents topics that are normally dry in such a way that keeps my attention and make it stick. I've heard Jeremy's voice in my head far more than I care to admit when completing tasks at work and answering questions on tests. Excellent crew and extremely happy with the content. Thanks!

Love CBT content but the app and website need an overhaul.Simple actions like rotating the phone app to full screen means the video restarts. Also the syncing between phone app and when I revert to browser access is hit and miss. I should be able to pick up where I left off just like Netflix between my phone and TV.

I have used CBTnuggets for years. Always found it informative. I ould give 5 stars, but in the UK at least there are often times videos wont load without refreshing a few times. Also, ive had the quiz section be wrong before. It would be really nice if all instructors jumped onboard the anki card train as well, but thats really me being a little lazy and not wanting to erite them myself! keep up the good work

Gr8 content... easy to follow and understand. But since the update I can no longer re-watch videos I've seen and cannot download anything. I've been watching the videos by Keith Barker for Cybersecurity and the CompTIA Sec+ 601 exam prep and was really enjoying them but when I went to re-watch a video I received an error. And the dashboard only lets you continue from where you left off. CBT Nuggets should make their app easier to navigate and the dashboard to have more capability.

I have used it for 1 week and love it! (They give you your first week free!) I'm using it with my books to reinforce theories and topics I'm learning in my cert journey. There are plenty of topics to choose from and they none of the videos are boring! I will say wish they weren't so expensive, and that I could turn off the 'auto play' feature on the website. That being said, 5/5 stars for me.

The bulk of the learning is achieved through watching the whole of videos and doing exercises, however I'm frequently cramming watching videos at home and in the car (for the audio only). I would enjoy a feature that would allow playing an audio stream for courses and save a little on battery.

I've been thru a lot of training. This is definitely on a different level. I loved it the first 5 mins into my nugget. Great work. It's like Netflix for IT professionals.

Would have 5 stars if they had basic security features like other streaming services. No way to log out other users from the account and when you change your PW or Email it DOES NOT sign everyone out and force reauthorization, defeating the purpose. Support was great and got me fixed, but I shouldn't have to wait all weekend for something that should be a basic security feature.

Very helpful app! I can study anywhere and anytime. Optional video download is great when internet is not available. Update: Huge help to passing my certification exams. Very easy and fun way to learn. Keith Barker is my favorite, he'll throw in jokes here and there and it makes me remember certain study points. I highly recommend this app and purchasing subscriptions, it is truly worth the money.

I got invited to check out CBT Nuggets through work, and it's been great. I have studied Java some before, but the videos and quizes really make it so easy to follow and understand! And I love that they have a dark mode (at least on the website, jot tried it in app). It makes for a great way to learn on my time!

Very informative, easy to follow classes. The instructors actually love what they do and make it a easy experience all around.
