V good app, has live news and cgtn documentary which allows playback of channels. App works very well in my phone and I usually cast the live news to my TV
If you want to reach more people you should use the Android share function so your articles can be shared to any apps incl ones used outside China & ones you don't know about yet! Or you can keep your favourite share outlets but add 'Use Android share' as option!
What a waste of time. Only snppiets of programs at best. No search of shows. Not even links to complete on YouTube or weibo or whatever. Great if you want only the latest news I suppose live, haven't really looked. Most of the news are simple text articles or snippets again.
Apps keep closing automatically and reopening as soon as you read the news. It occurred quite frequently. It's really irritating and discouraging for reading. Please, please FIX the BUG - FREQUENT INTERMITTENT AUTO APP CLOSING DOWN. THIS BUG IS VERY INFURIATING AND IRRITATING!!! PLEASE, PLEASE FIX THE PROBLEM. IT IS LONG OUTSTANDING.
Great covers, however the app auto refreshes while in the middle of reading a story or watching a video. Would be nice if auto refreshing can be turned off. Improving story page loading speed can also be great help with user experience.
This is a text based app which does not contain videos with voice narrations, quite disappointed. I watched CGTN for about 2 months when I was in China and found it impressive, hope this app will be improved soon.
For an English speaking observer this site is difficult. I found I wanted to hear the English interpreter of the Chinese speaker but the volume of the chinese speaker was so loud that it obscurred the translation almost entirely. Even english speaking messages were muffled with poor overall accoutics. A westerner cannot hear these poorly delivered messages, a perspective that needs to be heard! This site should do better!!! ... uninstalled.
Great app, at first look you can see that people are trying thier best to make it better. :D
The app provides good & interesting news. However, there is no way to increase its font size. Thus it is very difficult & tiring for me to read long articles
Great App for getting China's perspective on global affairs. Love it.
Video and written reports seem to be good. However when come to graphic and still photo, which are difficult to read because zoom-in function is not available for adroit phone.
Love to read the articles the way it is written. All these years I've been reading english news articles from western or indian sources but what i liked most is the chinese flavour in the english haha every country has it's own but to me it is new for instance I read about an article about a popular banyan tree n how it is attracting tourist n bringing wealth to the locals. Now in writing a news article other countries usually avoid the "bringing wealth to locals" part but i like the chinese way.And another thing is the way of address a person as "the man/lady surnamed...." this i like too.Hope though this cgtn i will get to know more about the country.
In CGTN News, the news is presented precise and so nicely that I have become addicted to reading !!!. I was tired of negative news that spread anxiety more than the news content. But with CGTN, I feel like reading more and more.
Very good app for giving us info you can't get with Western Media. Would be so much better with Chromecast support so I can watch it on my TV.
Wow, am speechless this is far beyond ma expectation. I downloaded this app because of the CGTN documentary channel and not only did i get it i got everything about CGTN and my main aim of downloading this app was to be able to watch"a history of china" but unfortunately i found out the show had gone far before i downloaded the app. I was planning to wait till the next time they will show it but luckily i discovered that you can have access to all the past videos even back to august 2017. Nice 1
CCP propaganda. I chose to install this app so I could warn people. Yes, the USA and China are in a cold war, and that this app represents the CCP's attempt to portray its own world view. That's all fine and good provided that this is acknowledged. What I find most troubling is that I found out about it on Windows running a MS store app. The upshot is that the CCP is on a global influence campaign and in bed with the tech companies, while patriots like Alex Jones get their apps removed.
Often one gets a incomplete or negative views on China from other channels. This one is a source to find out more and often give a more truthful picture.
Latest version does seem to have a longer delay after you click onto a topic. However, the scope and up to the minute reporting on this app is top class. B.B.C.? - can learn from this.
Apps does not update latest news and development at all. Since installation for past weeks, there were no changes to the news.. Same news as at date of installation... Hopless
I'm in Canada... good content. But crashes constantly and UNUSABLE. Simply puts a HUGELY BAD LIGHT on China.. Especially when in North America so much China Bashing is ongoing... This should be fixed urgently... it is portraying a WRONG image of China... thank you.
The panda keep popping up and refresh the screen when reading the news. CGTN should improve your apps and make sure it is bug free before publishing it annoying feature
China claims to be the world's 2nd largest economy and a technology powerhouse, yet this app is really 3rd class when compared with tiny singapore's CNA. Even India's NDTV service is better. Something is seriously wrong with your technological deliverables. There is NO joy in watching your service with such poor connection offered. Do something please.
I would like the ability to copy a link to the article from the share feature or hooking the share button into Android's pre-built sharing mechanics.
Great app for news from a different view points. They also have a channel on YouTube, but quite often YouTube removes their videos, so installing this app is a must for uncensored news.
This app shuts down intermittently during reading. It happens quite often sometimes otherwise a good app. Please look into it. Thank you.
Information in time and easy app to use
News stories load very slowly; videos start playing automatically (loudly) which is very annoying when you want to check the news in the evening and end up waking up your housemates. It also asks for access to cache - not even using the correct English to do so.
