I started my own cellar nearly a year ago and CT was the app that was widely recommended to organise it. I've been happy as with it's functionality, the barcode scanning is a pretty easy way to find wines. Would be nice if new wines could be added from the app, but I see a major update is being worked on that might iron out a few quirks. Looking forward to it, and thanks for the app!
Very comprehensive management system - for personal use and used by the facility that stores my wine. I'm able to scan the barcodes or take pictures of the bottle to add just about every wine I've ever purchased. Instant access to tasting reviews from others. I love the valuation option and the ability to export the wines in CSV format. Has features for labeling your own bottles that I don't use but probably should. This app is great; however, it is in dire need of a design update.
It does the job and has good flexibility but dear good the UI is an absolute mess. There's no logical way to do anything, creating an unnecessary learning curve. I actually get more frustrated with it every time I use it. For bottles going in and out of our cellar almost daily I end up with half a country covered in bottles because I keep putting off actually using the app.
The only thing I don't like about this app is the inability to change the quantity of bottles entered in my cellar. In the "edit" screen, the number of bottles in stock is grayed out. I miscounted how many bottles of a particular wine I had when adding to app, now I can't correct the number of bottles. I've had no other issues than that.
Problem with user entered data is the entry process is to complicated. The entry process is all over the place. Out of 50 bottles of wine I attempted to add to my "Cellar" only 2 existed in the search by bar code or image. And the information on them was incorrect or only partly correct. I found the app more frustrating than useful. Uninstalled after a few hours of attempting to add my wine.
Label recognition is poor, even mistaking white for red. Gave up after only 7 of 30 wines were recognised by label. Slow UI response. Clumsy UI with many taps required to get where you want to be (even if you were just there, many taps required to return to do the same operation again
Good label recognition. Huge database. Great if all you want to do is record your wine and value it. Not so good if you want to do anything with the data. You cannot export the information, you cannot create wine lists. I'd really like to be able to create a wine list to give to guests, but not possible. You cannot add bottles that don't exist in the database, e.g. special bottles obtained direct from the bodega. The app is a bit flaky and I found it difficult to work through the menus.
I love this app. I had a few bottles that weren't found through the barcode recognition, but it was a minor inconvenience. I love that you can look at what you've drank from your cellar... in case you forgot if it was good or bad.
I think a lot of people complained about this app without realizing all the perks (might I say for free). You can manage your cellar, find wines and look at tasting notes. Sometimes the wines are not there....guess what ? There are millions of wines in the world. This app's database relies on users inputs. If no one has added the wine yet, that means you are the lucky winner and should add it. I have to say so far I like. They have a partnership with vivino to lookup the wine labels! kudos!
Not particularly useful if you are new to wine. I was hoping to be able to browse bottles available locally and read reviews. Seems more oriented towards inventory. Also had no results for a few bottles I searched. Still on the search for an untappd equivalent for wine
Installed on moto g7 supra but would not open just black screen. Uninstalled and tried again...install lasted 5 seconds and would not open so I doubt the app is working. This is a new phone using AT&T through Cricket Android version 9. Ok I tried a 3rd time giving it lots of time and finally got to open😀
this venture is funded by voluntary payment. it is excellent for managing inventory and researching your previous notes or others' notes. it merges seamlessly with the web version you run on your laptop with almost all the same features. privacy settings let's you hide your inventory or your personal data or to share it.
Doesnt work for me. Too many weird restrictions. Cant enter cost after adding a bottle, only displays 26 bottles at a time, no valuations unless paid subscrition. I have 29 bottles in my cellar, can only see 26. I can't figure out how to add another. Is there a limit on the free?
Might be a good app, but could not create an account. Kept saying username was taken. I tried several combinations and eventually gibberish names (ytgefd35d2, gesfgegf55, etc) no luck. Shame, it might have been good
Nice app, but I gave three stars due to the constant renewal reminders. Had I known that I would be asked repeatedly for a yearly renewal, I would not have sent in a donation at all.
I like this app. Save me the trouble of using excel/laptop. I suggest to add on the function of Edit, to edit existing record n Delete, to delete record that we don't need.
Really like this app! Recently used it to inventory my cellar and I was surprised how quickly the task was completed. Also, support is great when needed. Thanks!
App freezes when opening it. Tried in two phones and its the same. Wasted time creating my inventory.
Can't say enough good things about this app and the team behind it. There are some clunky features and some things are easier done on my laptop rather than the phone. Regardless, for a hobby collector like me, this is a miracle. I can search a huge database and, if something isn't in there, the team has never taken more than a few hours to add it. Adding wines, and all the details about their purchase or value, is a snap. I can arrange them based on my shelving. 9/10, Totally recommend.
