Celtx Script

So I absolutely love the app and the whole thing is perfect for someone who wants a simple, but valuable screenwriting software. I just love the cloud feature, saves on the drive and you can access it through different devices. But the only problem I'm having with the app is with the print or download as PDF feature. It's working fine on the laptop but on my Android phone gives me an error.

Can't even stay open! I've had a Celtx account online for over 2 years, both free and subscription-based. Celtx app won't even let me sign in. The second time I tried the app crashed before I could even finish typing in my user info. I've closed it, reopened, etc and it crashes everytime. I'm uninstalling it. What a bummer.

Good but also frustrating. Easy use and no ads. But like other users have experienced, it will quit suddenly in the middle of writing so I need to constantly save. Also the keyboard goes weird after a while. Better off using the app to create/start a new project and the desktop/website to make edits or if you want to write features. The app can't cope with anything else.

Overall, quite nicely structured and relatively easy to pick up, does certainly make script formatting very easy and acessible. However, every 20 words or so, the typing interface will duplicate two letters that I have typed, place them at the end of my sentence, and make them impossible to delete unless I reload the program. As you can imagine, it really ruins the flow of things. Would be a really great tool if not for that glitch.

Honestly really frustrating to use this app. So many issues that make writing nearly impossible. A lot of the time you can't clock the very end of a sentence so you have to close the document and go back in then scroll all the way to the bottom again. Sometimes the words just get jumbled and you can't erase things, you once again have to exit and go back in and scroll all the way to the bottom. Sometimes the character or scene heading popup doesn't appear.. It all gets really annoying.

I have been using celtx for over 10 years now and I've loved it from the beginning, but I am having a TON of synching issues which is really very frustrating. Everything is fine on my iPad but when I open it up in browser or on my phone it hasn't synched at all. I'm disappointed. I really don't want to switch programs but celtx has done this to me time and time again.

Writing in Celtx is impossible right now. After a few words, it starts to lock up, and my phone's autocorrect starts completing words as I write them, so I end up with something like "ArAre e" instead of "Are," which I wouldn't mind if not for the EXTREME lag that follows. Eventually, this gets to the point where I have to forcibly quit and restart the app. After doing this three or four times, getting maybe four or five words typed each time, I've stopped trying. Please fix this soon.

Having a way to write offline that syncs when finally connected to internet is great, but that is one of the few advantages of this app (besides the formatting of course). I have a external keyboard with an arrow pad that I use only when writing. This has been the only app to behave oddly with it. I can't keep going down the lines of script, I have to hit > to go to the next line after every paragraph.

Celtx, as a program, is great. It's the best alternative to paid programs like Final Draft. However, the mobile app is comparative to a Bethesda Game Studios title. It crashes often, entire paragraphs of work can sometimes vanish and the cursor seems to do whatever it damn well pleases. I had to uninstall and then reinstall the app just to accomplish something as innocuous as deleting an old project. This app needs some major refurbishments.

TERRIBLE WORKFLOW compared to Windows. I've been using Celtx on windows for YEARS, weekly. The UI and workflow is pretty intuitive. This App is Absolutely terrible. It's not intuitive AT ALL!! I've been stuck on trying to get off the first line while keeping my scene heading. It's either absolutely TERRIBLE, or there's a bug. I can't just type in my scene heading, hit enter and move on and retain the header format. The "Done" button quits the editing mode entirely???? Whhhyy??!!

Either fix the cloud saving/app crashing or get this app off the store. I've made a complaint about this a long time ago and it still hasn't been fixed. It's really a big problem whenever I'm trying to write my script and it just crashes in the middle of nowhere. The saves also does not work properly. I'd work on a script at home, try to polish some scenes on my way to work and it goes off an OLD SAVE. Fix this. Seriously.

I absolutely love this app! It's easy to use, the layout is just about perfect, my only complaints are that the buttons in the menu when on a mobile, they will kick you out and say the app had stopped working. Another thing, not too bad, but I can be rereading my screenplay to make sure everything is okay, but if I happen to go to the very last thing I wrote, and it is a sentence, it will put my marker right before the period. It's kind of annoying, but not all bad. I reccomend it still!

Would like to start with a positive note here. The app interface is very good and very streamlined. The only major issue I faced so far is keyboard latency which is always initiated by use of this app. I was hardly ten minutes in a writing session and I found myself experiencing major latency issues. The words I typed popped seconds later which is extremely hard to overlook. The latency issues continued outside the app as well. I changed keyboards but the results stayed the same.

The app crashes often and doesnt save any of the work. This is a common problem that many users experience. Celtx has a lot of great features that you dont see in other screenwriting programs, but most of them are blocked off by a monthly pay wall. This used to be free before version 2.9.1, but now they're adding pricetags to every little feature. 👌 try another program and save yourself the trouble.

It use to be amazing. The app was smooth and I could just fiddle on it when ever inspiration came. Now it is completely unusable. I was having these issues for months and was blaming it on my 2 year old phone. Just got a new phone with all the works and it is just as janky as it has been. I really hope they fix it. I have been using Celtx for almost 20 years now, it is sad to have to consider another platform. I will be happy to change my review to a 5 star rating once the app is working again.

A frustrating app that is good when it works and broken when it doesn't. Expect crashes from the slightest changes and paragraphs of work being lost. There is also an issue of old copies of scripts overwriting new ones, which is especially bad now that duplicating scripts is locked behind a paywall. Avoid using this app on phones, as that seems to be the primary place for issues. I've been using Celtx for quite a while and it's disappointing that the app has remained this way for so long.

I really like this app, this is where I began writing screenplays. I can share easily and there are also options for comics and other things. My (ONLY) issue is the fact I can't see page numbers which is important for me to count how long my script is. Overall it is a great app to learn how to format your script. This app is is also a portable typewriter which is cool.

Behaves very strange and worst for copy paste functionality. Faced lot of difficulties while pasting data in the script. The saving of those data was very very inconsistent which irritated a lot. And for god sake please try to add save option inside the script, instead of getting saved when exiting that script. This will save huge effort from our side.

The format and functionality are very good. It's easy to write and edit scripts, and to collaborate with other users. The biggest drawback is the limit to how much about your projects you can change without paying the expensive subscription fee. Editing the number of episodes in an episodic production, deleting unwanted extra files, etc. are kept behind a paywall.

This app is a little broken. You'd go to type a characters name. Usually on the desktop celtex when you enter after that it'll automatically swap over to dialogue. On this version have to you do it manually, which isn't that bad I suppose, still annoying. But the worst part is that when you manually change from character to dialogue, the characters name heading will also become dialogue. Its a big muck around to fix and is incredibly frustrating to work with. Please fix this bug!

Great app but beware of bugs. Tried on iPhone and android, with different bugs on each. In iPhone it often suddenly jumps to the start leaving the page you are on. In android it randomly deleted bits of text once in a while or the cursor gets stuck behind the second to last letter, meaning you can't delete the last letter without deleting from the text below which is often action or character that becomes blended into the text type you are trying to delete in the first instance. Please fix Celtx

I have trouble with the mobile app. Every time I try typing, the keyboard starts lagging and I'm unable to type smoothly. The keyboard would then still continue to lag after I close the app. The keyboard lagging issue happens only when I open the app to type my script. It completely ruins the experience and also is harming my phone. PLEASE do the needful because otherwise it's a wonderful app. PLEASE release an updated and bug free app version of this software. PLEASEEEEEE

This was a great app but now it crashes, inserts letters where they don't belong. It copies and pastes words where they don't belong. You have to continually exit out of the page in order to fix any mistakes, which come about with the next line. It deletes different parts of the work and it's disappointing because this was a great app.

Keeps crashing every 5 minutes and erasing my writing, along with inserting random letters and symbols that cannot be erased after the cursor. The PC version of Celtx is decent free scriptwriting software, but the mobile app is dreadful and isn't worth its meager download time. Until they completely overhaul it to the extent where it actually _works_ as a scriptwriting software, despite the fact that the app is one of few free scriptwriting apps out there, it isn't worth downloading.

It's great. A few bugs. It crashes every once in a while, sometimes the last letter can't be edited or selected for a while, then sometimes when you click on the last word or letter the app takes you back to the beginning of the work, so you have to scroll back down all over again. All in all its a great app, that just needs an update.

Weird lag and annoying typing. I'm not sure what the heck is going on. But if I try to do an edit on a previous entry, it just erases the space and leaves the words. Now I have about an entire page that's just one huge stuck together word. Not sure if it's me or not. But either way it's annoying. So 2 starts from me.

Terrible. I've used celtx for years, and this app used to be brilliant. After doing an update because I haven't used it for 6 months, the app is now completely unusable. When I type, celtx will randomly inserts letters after the cursor, won't allow me to begin a new line without great difficulty and feels far chunkier than it used to be. PLEASE review the last few updates and make this app usable again. It was a brilliant utility and saved a lot of time before it became completely unusable.
