Challenge with Erin – Japanese Language Test –
In the study section (‘Let’s Try’） there are four maps: spring, summer, autumn and winter, and you start with spring in the same way as Japanese schools start in spring.

・KOTOBA１
remember words through a game where you match cards with the same pictures
・KOTOBA２
make sentences by matching illustrations of verbs with cards of vocabulary often used with those verbs
・KOTOBA３
choose illustration cards with the same meaning as Japanese character cards and match the cards
・MANGA
become characters in a manga, choose the appropriate lines from the choices you are given, and read them out loud
・BUNKA
deepen your understanding of Japan through a quiz about Japanese culture and society
・STAGE TEST
a review test of what you studied at each stage. 20 multiple choice questions each with four options
＜Challenge yourself! Test section>
There are 16 tests altogether in the test section (‘TEST’).
You can take eight of these any one week. The questions change each week. Challenge yourself and check which Japanese vocabulary and words you remember and know with this test. Once you finish the tests, you will be issued with a certificate of results that includes your name. If your percentage of correct answers exceeds 80%, you receive a pass certificate that includes a medal (illustration)!
・KOTOBA LIST
A mini dictionary where you can find all the vocabulary and expressions that appear in the app. Each of the words that you answered that you had remembered have a check mark next to them. In the list each word is also written in Roman alphabet and hiragana/katakana, and there is a translation of the word’s meaning to enable you to study Japanese characters.
・STATUS
Every time you log in to the study section and study, you receive 100 points, and when you take a stage test, that score is added as points. You can see the results of your study to date, including your overall points, your weekly points (total points from the most recent Monday to Sunday), the number of words you have remembered so far, the number of stages you have cleared, and the number of tests you have passed.
・RANKING
Displayed here is the overall point ranking of all learners using this app and the number of stages they have cleared, as well as your own overall points and number of stages cleared.
・HONIGON’S CAMERA
When you clear the stage test of each stage in the study section, HONIGON’S CAMERA starts up. For each stage various different frames (background illustrations) are displayed, and you can take a ‘celebratory photograph’ combining these frames and a photo of yourself that you take.

A great app!! Really helped me with my Japanese. Although, I wish the leaderboard would update your place regularly if not live and wish there was content past winter. But otherwise, the best beginner Japanese vocab app!! (๑•̀ㅂ•́)و✧
Looked good, sadly can not sign up [[ Error : forbidden ]] united states of america, two stars one for looking good, one for a bad sign-up system. ~Florida usa Looking on your homepage on internet browser to see if signup is possible this way ? Sadly nothing is there either. Sense the app keep giving [Errors]
WHY should the app be given permission to make calls?? The app Iseemed very interesting until I found out about the needing to make calls. I am uninstalling this app, because it will not run unless I let it make calls.
This app gives only 3 options but correct answer is not always displayed which creates a lot of confusion. Till test 3 it is fine but in test 4 one would suffer.
The app requests permission to make phone calls, when denied it crashes. I can't see any reason why this app should need permission to make calls?!?!
When doing the first Kotoba I don't get pictures on all of the cards. And no sound when trying to hear the pronunciation. Please fix this otherwise it looks like a nice app. I'm using an Asus Zenfone 6.
The app freezes everytime I play the Kotoba, and it happens at the Manga section as well. Please fix this problem お願いします！
The app started flashing so strongly that it hurt my eyes. I consider that to be a severe safety danger. For that reason, it gets 1*
Well to be hones it actually works, Everything work's perfect. I really did like this app. It has what says on the description. It's awsome.
I'm wish i could rate it more but its so outdated that my password manager doesn't work with it and i wouldnt be surprised if it just up and quits on me due to google standards on OS support
Request permission to make a phone call. I choosed deny and the app doesn't work.
I installed it but it crashed every time I tried to open it. Sad! 😢
Learning weekly is slow. Also, I only care about the manga section.

It's nice app
I really like the app itself but I think there should be an option to see katakana/hiragana/kanji rather than strange romaji that may match pronunciation but doesn't always match kana writing. Also the Java exceptions like no connection or connection timeout should be catched. Other than that I think this app is amazing and really helps beginner Japanese learners.
App is unusable. Memory match game loaded only 4 cards with pictures, and then froze with no option but to exit after choosing two cards, and never even presented the word. Manga mode wouldn't let me scroll to the next page, and then after exiting that was marked as clear.
The App is good... But there still are some issues, for instance, when I click on "memorized" during an exercise, the kotoba list doesn't get the pink sign on the word. Also, I can't login with my website account in the app. For some reason, it says that my ID or password are incorrect... I mean, I expected it to be the login for both, or isn't it supposed to be the same? The "skip" (on "Manga" excercise) and "back" buttons aren't working properly in some pages, like the "Ranking" page and "Manga" exercise page. I didn't pay attention in all cases. Also, I don't think it is needed to return to the main menu every time you go back from another page... You could return to the "Let's try" page instead, and have another option to go to the main menu instead of clicking on "Home" or "Back" buttons. Another thing, is that if you click on "Reset", everything is resetted, what can be exploited to reset also your score and go up in the ranking to stay in the first place. Just pointing here some issues that I think it would be important to correct... The idea of the app is great, so this is because I'm giving 4 stars. Also, I'd say that only roomaji is not very helpful, and it may delay a bit the learning of the language, so, if possible, I think it would be a great idea if you add the option to allow the learner to choose to have the exercises be mostly in hiragana, or in roomaji. Or, if possible, it would be even better to make all of it in hiragana, followed by roomaji, but not only roomaji like it is in some parts of the app.
Please, please, please add an option to remove romaji and only use kana/kanji. It's the only complaint I have.
Poor execution of a language app. Tests the user over material without introducing it first. The voice recognition software is unsubtle. This whole app seems designed to make people hate the Japanese language.
This week's second test is quite broken. For example the question is "aki" and I am only able to choose between summer, spring and winter. Also the questions about months do not have the correct answers under them. Otherwise the app is very nice and runs stable. Edit: I cannot retake quizzes, but i think it is a mistake in displaying the layout correctly. Those tests have only 3 possible answers instead of 4 and the correct answer is never displayed. Let's blame my tablet :)
