This app does not allow the myq hub I have to setup a schedule. I simply want my doors to close if they are left open past a certain time. The app says that you can schedule the door(s) to close, but the app tells me that it has been disabled. This was one of the reasons I purchased this unit, as well as it's integration with Wink, Alexa and Google home. Out of all that, Wink is the only one that it integrates with, without a charge. I put a wifi switch on my doors that work with Alexa and Google home to get around that. I would not purchase this again, or anything else from chamberlain.

** BEWARE ** if you get an error while trying to close the door, they will DISABLE your ability to close the door. I was 200 miles away when it happened to me. Customer Service REFUSED to reset whatever switch they throw so I could try again. They told me i had a problem with my sensors (BTW...there was NO problem) The only way to re-enable the app is to close it locally....which neighbor did for me, and there were no problems. This is NOT a dependable application. In fact, this "feature" makes it pretty much useless. I need a app I can depend on.

What have they done? Latest release, and now I have to login EVERY time I open the app? First world problem, but it completely defeats the ability to save time. Also, you now have to press the "button" twice to open or close? Again utterly pointless and not needed. My device is newer, a budget phone, but one of the best budget phones, but it's not compatible with the feature that lets the app remember your password now? If I could send back the hub I purchased and get my money back I would. I'll just pull it and free up my switch port. Fail big time.

Good in theory but the execution leaves something to be desired. Takes a long time to load, shows the old status of the door until it gets info (instead of saying loading or something). Also sometimes just stops working in weird ways. As I write this review it tells me that there have been too many failed attempts and I should operate the door manually. Yet I have only pressed the button twice today. Don't expect this app to replace an old school remote.

horrible... do not use this product. I have a lot of smart home devices and this is the only one that is unreliable. I thought it would be handy to see when the doors are open or closed, but the notifications come in inconsistently (sometimes 10 minutes late). I refuse to pay the subscription to get Google Home or IFTTT integration if the system can't even notify me reliably that the door is open.

The app is ok. It does what it is supposed to do, it's a garage door remote you control through an app. I wish there was an option to turn off the beeping on my MyQ garage hub, it's a bit annoying. I'll probably open the hub and rempve the sound. Also the app doesn't like screen overlays, but it doesn't warn you. I use Lux and the buttons weren't pressing so I turned it off and the app worked (I thought the app was locking up). It also doesn't like root access so it won't allow you to auto login if you're rooted, so hide the root from this app if you want auto login.

A few issues are holding this solution back from being great. 1. The connection doesn't always seem reliable. It will say it is opening/closing when I request it, but occasionally it fails to actually do so. No errors to explain the problem are thrown. 2. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME I open the app it bugs me to review. I HATE this. When I want my door open, I want it done in as few taps as possible. Forcing me to close your nagging plea for a review is absolutely unacceptable, but here we are, so I guess you win.

This app is useful for checking to see if your garage doors are closed when you are away or opening them while you're away for someone else needs to get in without a remote. There are two things I would like to see changed. First, I would rather have a persistent notification which tells me the current state of the door (with the time it was last updated) instead of a push notification on certain events. Second, I would like better integrations with other services.

This app works. But it needs to be improved. Issues: I have a LiftMaster garage door opener. I don't want an app named myQ - name the silly thing LiftMaster! It does not allow the alert to be customized, so if it wants my attention, it causes the phone to make the same noise as various nuisance alerts. AND: today I went to check the status of the door, and it prompted me to install a new version. I did. Now I had two apparently, since the color changed. But, it asked for my password again. How many people are like myself, with lots and lots of passwords, and don't remember them all. So, I clicked the "forgot password" link, and it made up a new one, a long string of random letters and numbers in mixed case. Okay - but it sent an image, so I couldn't copy and paste it, and since I was on the phone, I couldn't see it at the same time as the prompt, and it was baroque enough to be hard to remember. This is bad. If I want to know the status of my door, give it too me. Don't shove a new version down my throat at the time, especially if it means I have to re-enter a credential I used one time a year ago or so. And, give a memorable reset password. I can change to a better one later.

Disappointing, doesn't really deliver on the expectations of a smart home device. Premium subscription to use Google voice assistance? Whats more separate partners require their own subscription, absolutely ridiculous. Absolutely does not exist in the Google home app. Works with nest to do what really? The camera is good on it's own. Really as it is I can't recommend this to anyone. Overall overwhelming disappointing. Not sure who this is supposed to appeal to, but no person I know that's sure..

This app used to be amazing then it lost it's reliability. The alerts are very sparatic in the way that it alerts. Sometimes it's instantaneous and other times it's 10 min after the door moved that it sends the notification. Almost every time I use the app to open or close the door, it says connection error after it does the command. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app and it still has glitches.

There is no option to assign a specific notification sound for alerts. One must use the default notification sound in Android Oreo 8.1. There is no way to separate notification sound for other apps in Android so the Chamberlain alerts are undistinguishable from other alerts. It wouldn't be so hard to add this functionality to the app. Also, the notification time is far too slow, to the point where it becomes ineffective to investigate the alert. One star until this is fixed.

Can't say I'm impressed. For an app that's soul purpose is to provide online access to devices, it's interface is underwelming. Starting off, the wifi instructions within the app contradicts the user manual's. The UX feels outdated and the app can essentially only open and close a door. Disappointingly there's no in-app access to the device's settings which would be extremely convenient. Access to Google Assistant and other smart home hubs is by subscription only.

Set up was easy once logged into the app. The paper directions were useless. The app doesn't support multiple users. You have to pay $1 a month or $10 a year to use ONLY ONE of the "partners" and Google Assistant only let's you close the garage door or check if it open or close. The app is slow to load and gets stuck saying it's looking for linked devices or doesn't do anything.. You can't open the garage with your voice

The nicest thing I can say about this app is that it is horrible. It's about as close to being Useless as an app can get. It's continually searching for devices. It never seems to be able to find a device. I have had to lauded and then reloaded and reloaded again before I can get it to work. Its predecessor worked fantastic. I never had a problem with the old app. Let me just emphasize again this app is garbage.

A. G. u. Nov 20, 2018

Pretty basic. It opens and closes the doors quickly and reports the status accurately. I docked some stars because of the lack of widgets or shortcuts. The app takes just enough time to log in to make it annoying to open and close the doors... Shortcuts or widgets would make this better. While the following aren't app related I'm going to mention them anyway. I have the service integrated with wink, which only shows me the status. Triggering actions from wink won't actually do anything. Also, charging for Google home integration is absurd.

As long as my wifi is up and running--awesome! Lest I forget to mention that when the auto close feature closes my garage, I can verify door status by looking at the app showing time since closed. Also the app can also trigger a notification with a date/time stamp in the unlikely event you have unwanted guests. I installed a camera inside my garage allowing for remote entry when delivering services are occurring preventing the potential for theft of property. In all, great product...

Used to be good, but recent versions don't save password. My device is not rooted, and even if it was, it's not your concern. Please fix this problem. Update : It's still incorrectly (and inappropriately) checking for root. None of your business. Update : Good job on fixing the credential saving issue. 1 - > 4 stars.

I frequently need to close and reopen the app because it hangs on login. Closing and reopening it will often immidiately let me login. I've only had a lockout issue once, where it said I had to reset the physical device. In this instance, it didnt seem to detect that the garage was closed and thought it was open. Have had the device for 2 months and have had to close/reopen it about 30% of the time.

Our family uses the garage exclusivity to enter the house. So knowing the garage door status is very important. It was easy to set up. I get instant notices whenever the door is opened or closed. The only complaint I have is the alert will sometimes get out of sync and show it open when it's closed. This is usually only when the door is stopped or interrupted before the cycle is done. This sync issue is pretty rare. But the updates are improving this. I am very happy that I can open or close the door anywhere!

No longer allows saving password, for ANY Android devices. This used to be a pretty good application. After a recent update, it will not remember your login. Not very useful when you have to log in every time you open the app. "We have detected that your Android phone may be rooted,... auto-login and saved passwords have been disabled." Chamberlain support: "...its a change we have made to the app on all Android devices, not just rooted Android devices. No Androids can save their password unless they are still using the old version of the app."

A. G. u. Feb 23, 2019

Very disappointed. I figured I would spend the money and get a high quality product for controlling my garage door. Instead, i got a product with a subscription fee for subpar smart home integration. I was even thinking about sending the money on the subscription fee. Then I realized they still used the old google assistant integration and not the new goog home app. There are cheaper options for controlling your garage door with better smart home integration. Returning ASAP.

A. G. u. Sep 25, 2018

I use this app to control the garage door. While the door status and the one touch "move inthe next direction" are ok, the alerts are useless. It does not alert the door opened until it reaches the top instead of as as it starts moving. The remained open alert happens only once. I can move door all I want up and down without alerts if I don't let reach the ends.

It works, however, if the app is still running on your phone from the last time you opened the door, I will get a "searching for devices" until I force quit the app and open it again. It's frustrating to have to force quit and relaunch everyday. Also, it would be much more useful if it had Echo integration or some type of smart device integration. My hands are usually full of bags and babies and it would be nice to be able to tell Alexa to close the garage door.

Edit 2019-02-09. Latest version restored save login credential feature....... Had my two garages with MyQ services for over two years now. No problems until now with this latest version not allowing me to save my password. One major feature of this app was to be notified when either of my garage doors are opened. It won't really do that if I'm not logged in all the time.

Doesn't work at all anymore. Opens my garage door 0% of the time. It will close it just fine and won't open, leaving me lock out of my house twice. Sent them a email and the response was to carry a key with me. How about release the last version of the app that worked just fine. Everyone is having problems with the latest version of the app.

Dav. S. Jun 10, 2019

The latest update wiped out all of my schedules. When I tried to re add them they wouldn't save. I disconnected the app from the MyQ hub and re added it. Now I can only add three devices. I had 7 devices setup with no issue for the past 3 years and now I can't use half of my devices. Absolutely horrible!!!

Its been a few months since installing this app and its hub on my garage. I have a Chamberlain brand liftmaster with a purple learn button, sorry I do not know the model off hand. 4 stars was given because initially I had a hard time getting it to properly. At first ut would show it was connected, my garage door could open, but the app would freeze and not allow me to close the door via the app, even if would close the app, and reopen it. In the instructions that came with mine, it said at least 2feet from the opener. To solve that issue, I actually had to extend the power cord to it fullest length, and install the hub its max distance from the opener. My hub disconnected from my router twice, no other devices disconnected. I have had to unplug my hub and plug it back in
