Honestly, I hate the update to the timer portion of chanting. They've SEVERELY limited the user's ability to wet the timer to want THEY want by only allowing 5min increments, plus the WAY in which you're expected to set the timer is honestly too tedious to bother with. Also, I don't understand why they haven't included an account based set-up in the event someone 's phone is stolen, breaks down, etc so that people do not lose all of the progress they've made chanting towards a goal. And adding such a thing can help practictioners stay motivated as they see a whole collection of determinations/campaigns they've managed to accomplish. Summary: change the timer setup back to what it was before the "update" and include account/login capabilities.
So, I've had this app for a while. Its great help, so I paid and upgraded to a full version. That should have been a one time thing. But now with the new update there are options for in-app purchases. That doesn't seem fair.
Makes chanting very convenient and I love that I always have "someone" doing gonyo with me. I'm not sure about the paying for every feature seperate, I'd prefer a free trial period and then you can pay for what you want.
A wonderful app.....only constructive criticism is that the daimoku voices are quite difficult to harmonize with....needs another more bass voice sound to make it more accessible to all.....helps the men's division and pioneers who have developed a deeper daimoku voice...also gongyo could even use one more speed as well. Thank you so much!
this app gives me everything I need for my practice. I love I can read the writings of Nichiren Daishonin here also.
The daily encouragement stats my day off right and always seems to fit. I share it with my children who are away from home and my coworkers via text who always say how did you know.
I shifted from one android phone to another & again had to pay for it. And now most features don't work & say I need to pay for upgrade. But I have already paid for the upgrade.
Almost perfect: 1. It would be nice if the Wake lock feature was also on when chanting gongyo. 2. The link when sharing Diamoku to social media like Facebook is broken.
Shame on this as need to play to get continue . It might be OK if given noticed that need money that it's NOT FREE....
I upgraded assuming all features would be enabled... nope. Turns it this app has different upgrade packages, one for planning/graphing (which is not active planning or interactive, just another view of info) and another for Gongyo. Wish I had known that before so I could have upgraded to the package I really wanted (the Gongyo package). I read the info available before upgrading but didn't see that info. If it's written somewhere can someone point me to it? Thanks NMRK!
Please fix the chanting audio loop. The rhythm changes at least two times within the loop. Also there should be a faster chant speed and gongyo should be included with the upgrade and not sold as a separate package.
Wonderful application made to help. But sharing daily guidance through text doesn't work. The app stops whenever I click on Via text to share the guidance. Please fix it. Thanks
I am not tech savy and this app IS NOT ANDROID FRIENDLY. Paid for it and did not get the features
I love all the options in Chant Buddy. It's great for not wanting to chant or do Gongyo alone! I especially love the Daily Encouragement.
The silent prayer is not the updated version. It looks quite old. May be older than 5/6 years. Please provide the updated version.
I like this app a lot. I've noticed however that when I adjust the daimoku speed for thos chanting faster or slower, the counter seems to count at the same rate regardless of how fast or slow we're going.
Had some difficulty in the beginning with the audio going faster than the words. Eventually after writing to the developer & contacting Google Play all seems to be working fine.
Since I got turned on to this app, I'm able to send daily encouragement to a YMD in Vegas, he loves it. I'm so happy I can send Sensei's message to inspire a YD. It's also a way to send positive messages to my son. Love it!!! Thank you chant buddy for creating this.
With so many bodhisattvas all over the world, it's great that we can all stay connected using this.
I have enjoyed this application, however, I am not sure why the sgi silent prayers have been paraphrased. They do not match the gongyo book which was disenheartening because I really like this application otherwise. I have not received responses to 3 emails about this. If you use this app, please do not use the silent prayers that are included. Bring your own gongyo book. These developers are not intent in keeping this application accurate. Try TheChantSutra which is accurate.
