After trying to sign on several times, I uninstalled this app. Very disappointed. I use CN on line and wanted to set up my list on this app. Android user.
By using this app, I know that money I donate is being used effectively by the organization I choose. That is, the money is going to the programs, not lining the pockets of the management.
You can log in and veiw you list of charities (which for me anyway is incomplete) but that's about it. Very disappointing.
Looked up Feeding America. Not there. Looked up the top ten, utterly bogus list of charities I've never heard of. Useless.
App crashes. Can't use it. Android S10 user. Love Charity Navigator, though!
Hasn't been updated since 2017. DO NOT INSTALL. Use the online app. This is worthless!

The last update was in June 2017. My saved Charities are no longer there and the information on other Charities is dated. It is no longer reliable due to its dated material and the fact that it does not work appropriately. Don't waste your time. I'm sorry that I had recommended this in the past to friends. The first part of my review was done in 2018 and I still see the last update is June 1997. I am sorry that I have contributed to charity Navigator and will not make further donatios to CN.
Good resource to check before you send money to any group
Wish it was more robust like the website. The filter function doesn't really work when searching charities. Nice that it tells you definitions and rationale for metrics. Wish it mentioned how efficient the organization's evaluated are in achieving their target goals. Also wish there was a way to nominate a charity. Voting could be another option to crowd vote for a certain neee (they could limit up votes by requiring an account to vote and 1 vote/account)
I love the idea and the website itself. The app crashes and I can't even view one charity. Very dissapointed!
Recently bought off by the Clinton Foundation. I will delete it today. Very sad because I have relied on it in the past.
Something is wrong with this app. How do you give on it? Then it keeps saying no internet connection.

Nothing but crashes
The app now crashes every time I try to accessy saved charities. This needs to be addressed.
I use the Website from my computer all the time, and love it. But the Android app won't let me log in to see My Charities. I uninstalled and reinstalled, but I still have the same problem. It just spins forever when I open the app, and then crashes if I hit "My Charities."
How do you score/rate a Nonprofit on it's financial overhead? Would you expect a business to grow without investments in marketing/advertising/salaries to retain good employees? Then how can you expect to rate a nonprofits worthiness and impact in a community using unfair analysis on whether or not it 100% of the donation goes to a "cause". Wouldnt you rather some of your donation go to advertising and marketing that will help that nonprofit grow its impact? This app is toxic for nonprofits and causes.
I don't give money to any charity without first checking out its performance thru Charity Navigator. And...it keeps me updated if a charity's performance falters or excels.
I am happy to have this tool to aide me as I choose my charities.

1 star is too much for this app. I can log in online. However, when I log in through the app, the app freezes.
I like to know how much of my charitable contribution is actually being applied to the project itself and to administration costs.
The online site is much better. The only thing you can do here is see your list and the charity info. Doesn't let you search by cause to find charities. Also, the app crashes. They haven't updated the app since 2017!
