I've been using this app for quite a while now and absolutely love the concept and its features. However there are a few major concerns: The app crashes when i scroll farther up to the old entries in a chat. It crashes when I conduct a word search within a chat. It crashes when I do multiple backspace. I've recently lost ALL the images I'd uploaded to the app. It shows 'Image not found'. I really hope the developer would fix the above issues.
Loving the app so far and it shows that the developer is invested in making it clean and user-friendly. I have a few suggestions that would personally make it even better, and they are the ability to add tags and categories to image entries, the ability to set a date and time other than the present for an entry in case you wanna insert it at a later date, and a web counterpart so users can input their entires on their PC. Again, I absolutely love the app so thank you for your work.
I really love this app, so easy to use, nice interface and very straight to the point. I like that you can see the timeline of events in the form of a messenger. I do wish there were more themes to choose from or maybe a customisable theme option and it would be great if you could swipe between the uploaded photos instead of having to open each one of them separately when you want to look through them.
it's great for the most part. I had gotten frustrated once when I found out it doesn't auto save. I was in the middle of writing when I got distracted and inadvertently closed the app. if you guys were able to add an auto save feature it would make it absolutely perfect for my needs. otherwise it's great. PS don't forget to save.
A very flexible app that takes playing around a bit to familiarize yourself with. This app could take whatever you think of writing on a paper: diary, venting space, bullet journal, movie journal etc etc all under a familiar chat interface. Suggestions are : it needs more themes and a unified page that sort all the chat bubbles into one streamlined article. 0 ads, clean and free. I can wholeheartedly recommend it for anyone who's looking for something different, experimental yet functional.
Unique app: I love being able to "text" myself. It's got a bunch of additional features but I really appreciate that you can start using this app right out of the box without having to learn the extra bells and whistles. Changes I would appreciate are 1) check boxes/to-do feature inside the chat stream, 2) more color themes (the bright theme is too bright, the dark themes are too dark).
After searching the entire Play Store, I FINALLY found the digital journaling app meant for me! I've tested them all and this one triumphs over all! It's so genius! It removes the stress of filling up an entire blank page, the layout is simple, it's password protected and it's FREE! What more could you ask for? Thank you so much to the developers for making the PERFECT journaling app!
It seems great overall, but I find no way to change date of entry or to make an entry for any date other than "today". Sadly, without this feature, it is useless for me. There are many days in my life when I am not able to make my entries every day. Need ability to control dates of entries! Will have to uninstall & wait to see if this ever gets added. Am willing to purchase a pro version.
This app is just want I've been looking for. Being able to text myself. I've noticed that if you create a new page different from the default one, when restoring data from Google Drive, the custom page doesn't get restored and you lost your data. Please try to fix this in the next update. I've lost data because of this.
It's really amazing and comfortable. I was searching for an application as that for long, I have tried some but I needed one that's simple and direct. And this has all what I badly needed and even more brilliant feature that make it stand unique among the other journaling apps. It just needs to support the Arabic paragraphing properties.
This is by far the best app for journaling with chat visuals. But I still don't know why you put the user (us, first person) on the left side of the screen which usually for the one who we chat with, it's just weird in term of perspective since it's not as the usual. I hope this can be fixed somehow on the next update.
The app is great. Easy to quickly enter notes and thoughts. I've got Asperger's, ADHD and PTSD, which makes it easy for me to forget things or rather things I've been told, chores etc., but with this app I can quickly write down a thought when it occurs. The only leaving features according to me is colour coding (I pretty much colour code everything) and a widget, but even without that, it's the best journaling app I've tried.
This one is a life saver! See, I have a lot of thoughts and usually, I end up bottling since I also don't like posting them because I get anxious. I tried other journals but being given just a big, empty space to write on kinda intimidates and pressures me to write more which ends up with me not writing anything at all. This was basically the perfect solution for my problems. I could just "chat" whatever pops into my mind anytime without getting anxious.
All the rat racers (Android app making firms n people) are only limited to 3 points: 1. Attractive look of user interface. 2. Extended smart functionality. 3. Lagging free experience. However In my view, ChatJournal is the best journaling app all around the globe 🌎, going extra miles alone with "common sense and simplicity". Thnx
I LOVE this app. I used to send messages to a friend as a notepad since I could check them later and they would have a timestamp and everything. Now I use this app and it is perfect for that and my friend rarely has to say "am I a notepad?" anymore 😁! I do wish there was a web version so I could use it on more than just my phone. But I love it despite that!
Love this! One of a kind, user friendly, gorgeous design, no complaints whatsoever at this point! Edit- please make it so photos are stored in the app so we can delete them from phone! And can you add more fonts or let us import them? Thats the only things that needs improved on!
this app is really good! although you might consider adding check boxes or the sort option for the to-do or shopping pages. maybe, we can name the bot, too,for a more familiar feel but this isn't necessary. however, the boxes are.
Great app. But please add field expansion ability. Only two lines of text are visible. And font size could be bigger. Text editing is harder for visually impaired people like me. Would like to see additional options.
having tried so many others app, this one is the most fun to use. it actually makes me writing down my thoughts at a particular moment due to its simplicity concept. but i really hope dev would allow it to sync between devices Update: I am coming back to this app after a few months, I realized developer had updated with sync. This complete the app for me! 5 stars
I bought a premium version of another top-rated journal/diary app and used it for several years, but I think this one is more accessible and just more fun. I've recommended it to several people individually, and wanted to update my review here. Nicely done, frequently updated ... the developer is accessible and responsive ... there's a lot to like here.
I love how minimal this app is. Gets the job done as a journal in a chat format. My only recommendation would be to allow for unique background images on each page, and maybe an image in the timelime as well.
Says "Cannot pin this page! A maximum of 3 pages can be pinned" when I have pinned only 2. I had trouble pinning, until i reinstalled the app again, which enabled me to pin one more, whereas before I only pinned 1 and got the notification. Please fix, excellent app.
almost perfect. is there a way to make it sync in real time (not the Google sync). also I use the same account on two devices and even with Google sync pages are missing from my other device. any suggestions?
Nice interface just like whatsapp. Everytime when I use this app, I forgot if it's not even whatsapp. It feels like I'm journaling while chatting with myself lol. Can you please add this choice in the setting to limit the balloon without filling the entire sidebar just like whatsapp? That would be awesome. Oh, and this app doesn't seem to have any ads.
It's been a long time since I've seen anything that has this combination of novelty and utility. I'm still trying to work out the sync between devices, but what I'm more concerned about is the 10,000+ downloads since 2018. Is that respectable for 4 years? Really! This is the coolest app. It's obvious a LOT of thought and creativity went into it. Don't lose your interest or enthusiasm in the app. I'd hate to see it be abandoned. That would be especially bad considering it's a journaling app.
