3 of 5 because: 1. The App lacks of the Multiple destinations features. Very usefull and needed. 2. The GPS button don't react and don't go to my position to show me on the map, while i see the dot representing my position if i move the map : Tried to reinstall app, checked authorizations, reset the phone. But, all other apps works normally, so, problem need to be fixed in the Kapten App (Phone: SM-G965F) Will update the rating when those 2 points are fixed

I have given 3 stars because in my opinion the pros outweigh the cons. Let's start with the pros. This app definitely has the cheapest fares. They also have a great loyalty scheme; the more you use the app, the more discounts they offer. The cons: the gps system is rubbish. The pick up points are inaccurate - need to introduce pin drop for pickup. Not enough drivers. Pick up time is too long - some come from too far. Some drivers start journey before arriving - needs to be monitored closer.

AWFUL. Do not use. Wouldn't give me a refund despite misleading me about a long delay which meant I had to get the underground instead. The app said a car would be 1 minute away from Waterloo station. It didn't tell me where the pickup point was so just I ordered a car and then it told me to walk outside - it said the driver was waiting in a street across the road, but when I got there, there was no car. I then scrolled through the app and found the car was 12 minutes away, in bad traffic, so probably longer. I cancelled as soon as I saw the 12 minute notice, but it still charged me £5 because I had cancelled several minutes after ordering, even though it hid that information from me until I got to the pickup point. The customer service was not at all understanding or interested in improving the app to stop someone else being tricked into the same mistake.

Absolute nightmare. They cancel trips and keep your money, then you go through hell to get a refund because the customer service option doesn't work and it's impossible to find any other form of contact. I had to go through a third-party organisation to get this sorted OVER CHRISTMAS. I have since uninstalled the app and made sure to inform all the friends I had previously recommended it to.

Recently a notification took 10minutes to come through to my phone. By that time the driver had already waited 8minutes and the journey was cancelled! Highly annoying! Credit where credit is due though. The customer service is great at Kapten. Please make sure you NEVER change the fact that you have U.K call centres. So much easier to communicate and resolve any issue that may arise.

Started off great but then went rapidly downhill. Trips mysteriously cancelled - especially during surge price. App suggesting cars are close and then when book they are well over 10 mins away. Drivers going in wrong direction and arriving well over the estimated pick-up time. Many don't seem to know any routes. Lastly, no reply to emails send to customer services (there is no in-app way of contacting).

Wow - this is a terribly built app... Yes it is cheap in its newly launched markets (i.e. I'm using this in Lisbon where there is a 50% discount for a month), but the GPS is wildly inaccurate with no pin setting function as in Uber, no ability to select type of car (i.e. Uber Black Vs Exec) and the wait times forecast have zero accuracy (probably down to the fact that the GPS is incredibly slow and inaccurate causing severe lagging). Enjoy the cheap rides on a VC's dollar and then go back to Uber.

Everytime you try to book a ride with kapten is an adventure. It happened more than four times that the drivers kept canceling; they called asking where we were going and then they canceled. The waiting time is usually long as well, and the app charges you for the ride when you request it, so if the driver cancels, you can't choose if you want the next cab or not. And it takes days for the costumer service to get back to you. Negative experience overall.

If you are in London stay away from this app by all means. I have had nothing but bad experiences with them. They do not higher qualified drivers, and their customer service is appalling. I have been scammed on several occasions by their drivers, and the app is designed to charge you at every opportunity even when something has gone wrong. And they will die before they issue you a refund, instead they provide you with credit which forces you to spend that money with them. Worst cab hailing app.

I was only able to use this app for one ride while I was in Paris--from the airport to the hotel--and never again after that. It kept asking me to put in more credit cards and an error would appear saying it wouldn't process the payment. Luckily we were close to a train station, otherwise we would have totally missed our flight thanks to this faulty app. Do not recommend.

I booked 2 rides on different dates and both were cancelled after waiting for around 10 minutes. This was really inconvenient and there was no penalty for the driver whatsoever. I also received the email listing possible reasons for cancellation none of which matched and the fact that the driver did not see me but still cancelled was really irritating. The service on this platform is not upto par with other platforms.

Good app, for the first two rides, i quite enjoy it but on the third one i started to have problems with it, i put the pick up pin exactly in front of my building, but after i press confirm it jumped 3 streets away, after 2 min when i looked at the map to see were the driver is, i realised the pick up point is wrong, i called the driver and when he answered it was there for literally a few seconds, it got back to were i was in maximum 30 seconds. The problem is that i was charged extra for it.

Absolutely TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!! DO NOT DOWNLOAD!! Waited for 4 or 5 drivers who never get to where you are because the in-app GPS is awful! Then they cancel within seconds without ever calling or texting and I was always waiting for them and NOT DRUNK!! Very glad I didn't try this later at night, definitely would have been stranded! If uber doesn't continue I'd rather get a black cab than try this again, just VERY POOR!

This app is a total fail. While kapten markets its products as an alternative to uber, it is noway near uber's quality/service. I tried giving this app a shot twice and the result was negative both times. App shows many cars in the area, once u place an order you suddenly find out the nearest car is more than 10minutes away. You then start getting inaccurate estimates of the drivers arrival time and the problems go on and on and on.... (stick to uber)

Frequent crashes, malfunctioning GPS, utter waste of your money and time: The app will show your position randomly anywhere 50-75 metres from where you really are, with no option to readjust on the map. Cabbies cancelled most of our trips because they couldn't find us, now we got credit in the app that we cannot use. Also crashes often and needs to be restarted. By the end you are charged for part of a trip you couldn't take which makes it more expensive than Uber. Annoying!

Worst app compared to Uber or Bolt in London. Waiting times are ALWAYS a lot more than it says, drivers cancel a lot and I've been charged unfair waiting fees for drivers' fault. Also, the image of the car on the map does not correspond to reality, I've had it showing as passing me by and it was nowhere near! In Lisbon the service is good though. Go figure...

OK, when it works. I've only used it a few times and the drivers have dropped the jobs more than once. This means the car doesn't turn up in the estimated time given when making the booking, but if you cancel because the wait is too long, you still get charged. I've also got a coupon for some money off, but this isn't being applied. I'd like to use an alternative to Uber, but this needs to be more reliable before I switch.

Initially had a good experience with kapten but recently ordered one that didnt arrive yet i was still charged. This meant that i didnt have enough money to order another and caused me to be late for work and lose more money. The driver said that the system automatically cancels the ride if they arrive too late to the pick up spot but still charges. If true this is a terrible system simply set up to make you chase after your own money.

So far not bad. Low prices compared to others. But would be better if you can add 7 seater or family car option to the app instead of "standard" cars showing on the app. Sometimes one needs a bigger car but there's no option until it arrives then the confusion starts. Cancal and book another hoping to get a bigger car or try a different app. Please fix this will always be happy to. Give 5 stars 🌟 🌟 Thanks

Very bad experience. Similar to the other recent reviews, the key issues are : unrealistic estimate for the time it will take the car to reach you, it unusually takes twice as long ; driver cancelled a trip to the airport literally 200m from our house, without any explanation. The standard cancellation email you get from kapten suggests that it is the client's fault, in most cases. Already a bad start,but also totally irrelevant in my case as the driver didn't even reach us before he cancelled.

Awful. Drivers always cancel. Yesterday I had 3 cancellations at various points for non reason. After waiting 5 - 6 minutes for a car to arrive, the drivers would just cancel the fair when they were 1 or 2 minutes away (obviously they found a better fair on a different app). At one point I had a driver start the 'wait' timer when he was 2 minutes away just to get out of the fair and so I would get charged. It's cheap when you manage to get a car....but completely unreliable. Use Bolt instead

This app was outstanding. It has the cab fares cheaper than Uber and other services. As far as I can see, the fare starts at £5. I really enjoyed this app, because not only it has cheaper fare prices, it also has a loyalty programme where you can exchange points for free rides or discounts.

Inticed in with great pricing structure. First journey, wait time for a shirt journey changed from 8 mins to 14 mins. I cancelled, and was charged. Customer service told me the wait time had fluctuated and that its my fault for not waiting for it to correct. Blame the customer for the app issues, nice. I cancelled barely 3 minutes from booking, understand the 2 minute window. But terrible first impression, Uber at least care about their users. Not worth the hassle.
