Checkbook

This is a simple, yet well working app. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this app for anyone running Android 10 at this point. The "menu" icon has disappeared, which means some of the advanced features like being able to import/export data from the app are no longer accessible. Based on this, I cannot assign more than two stars, where if this were fixed, I would gladly put 4-5 stars.

Wow. Really hasn't been updated since 2011? I have been using this app for a LONG time. I used to love it. And most of the time it still works fine. However the reoccurring payment function hardly ever works properly anymore. I have several automatic payments that come out of my account, and it will not work anymore. And the fact that you can only enter four reoccurring transactions is very limiting. Just wish they'd fix the bug and update the app after 9 years.

Recurring transactions stop after a period of time. This had happened to me twice in the past year. i have to go back, re-enter the missing transactions, then set up the recurring items again. The point of recurring transactions is so I can NOT think about them. Other than that, it works well, but this is a deal breaker for me. I've switched to a different checkbook app.

I've been using this app for years and now on 4 different phones, it's basic and does the job. But the developer doesn't keep it up to date with all the new Android updates that get done. I just got a new phone and had to start everything over again since the backup feature is no longer accessible after an update and the settings button disappears

I've been using this app for several years now. It is the best finance tracker I have ever used, however, the number one problem I have with this app is the backups never work! Every time I get a new phone, I have to restart all of my accounts. It is really frustrating. I have spent hours (literally) trying to make the backup work, but I have never successfully done it. If the backup was done a different way (syncing to Google/android account or Facebook), I would definitely give it 5 stars!

Best thing about this app is no ads, but still not sure how I feel about this app. It works ok to replace my paper checkbook, but only keeps up to 100 entries which means I can't go back and reconcile entries from 3 months ago. It also has a weird internal calculator that makes it consistently off by a penny or 2 (+ or -). I have to just enter it into my budget spreadsheet as "an adjustment to match checkbook, or enter an expense into the app as a balance adjustment. Might try a new app soon.

I loved this app on my old phone and bought the paid version, but I recently upgraded to a new phone and learned that the app itself has no menu button so I'm completely unable to access many of the features, like backup and restore, exporting to CSV, etc. Basically all I can do is add and remove transactions. I emailed the developer but have had no response. Extremely frustrating.

this app has been the best app by far to balance multiple accounts. it does fuzzy math from time to time (only off by a penny, never anything more) but being able to look at all my accounts on one page is more convenient than the penny. I only wish they would release an update so all the settings can be adjusted with the newer phones. still does everything I need it to do!

Used to love this app and have been using it for years. It really seems to be getting worse and worse with basic addition and subtraction. I use this checkbook for my business and personal accounts. Sometimes the errors are pennies but have started finding errors in the hundreds. I also spent hours trying to find where maybe I forgot enter a transaction. I started paying attention to the balance after several transactions and found that the error is, in fact, the apps.

I have always loved this app but it has not kept up with time. It seems to rarely have updates that keep up with current technology. I cannot access the advanced features any longer. Also I have gone through 4 phone since I started using this app and neve have I been able to transfer data from one phone to another. I hope they release some updates soon so I can go back to 5 stars.

For what it's worth, the loss of functionality to add scheduled transactions can be remedied by installing then Menu Button (no root) app. Enable it in Accessibility to gain access to the menus to add the scheduled transactions, then disable it. Works great and I can continue using this Checkbook register. The only other complaint I have is that periodically my cents calculations are off and trying to add entries to correct the balance still doesn't work.

Completely outdated! It use to be great, but when you don't return inquiries, & you haven't updated your app since 2011, you tend to be outdated! This app no longer works correctly, & loses some of it's features with the latest Android versions, especially if you upgrade to newer phones. This developer has completely abandoned their app! Updates can fix a lot of the shortcomings it has inherited with time... Just saying 😌

I have been using this app for a few years now and I've really liked it. But recently I upgraded my phone and can no longer access the settings to add/edit my recurring monthly bills. This is aggravating. And because of this I .am currently looking for another app to use.. Oherwise I have had no issues with it.

It's a shame. I've relied on this app for many years, with several incarnations of Samsung Notes. But, I've not been able to pre-schedule a transaction in well over a year, a feature I had come to rely on. I've waited for some sort of update to rectify the problem. I've waited long enough. I'm uninstalling and finding another app.

I was satisfied with this app until very recently after I received and installed an Android system update. In addition to the basic functions, I used to be able to edit the transaction categories and export a copy of the data to a spreadsheet -- but the Android update appears to have left me unable to access these features, which means that I will probably want to start looking for other apps which I can use to keep my accounts.

I would give this app a higher rating if they would develop an update to work with newer versions of Android. I don't see that happening since the last one was in 2011. To get around this inconvience, download the app (Menu Button-No Root). Works like a charm once installed.

I loved this app until I had to upgrade my phone to an LG V60. I'm not able to add scheduled transactions any longer. I can get to the screen but there are no options to add transactions. That is the most important option for me. None of the other applications work like that for me. I'd love to see a fix!

Does not appear to have access to "more options," nor does it explain or allow scheduling options. I also don't see the"a-z" sort option. Does not appear to have been updated for several years! Does the basics OK, but not all advertsed options are available.

Love the app, I've had it for years it's super simple and easy to use. it's too bad the developers dropped it back in 2011 because now theres no way of fixing the small glitches. Wish they'd come back! I would have given 5 stars if it was still being updated consistantly.

This app is outdated now that the menu button is gone from the Android operating system. For those who have been using this app for years you can download the menu button app as a temporary fix to be able to backup and restore your data. I am going to find another checkbook app since they have not updated this app in years.

It's completely useless if you have a newer phone. There's no menu button so you can't add categories or set any security to open the app. No editing transactions. Definitely don't pay money for this. There's zero customer support either. Ripoff.

I've used this app on and off for a few years. It is a very easy app to use. Simple features. My main reason for 3 stars is the fact there are no running balances. Add running balances along with deposits and deductions. This app would be a great little checkbook.

fast and much more readily avaible to use then paper version. ability to edit and categorize transactions cleanly. Only stores 120 transactions so if you have to go back and check then you're out of luck. Doesn't look like devs have updated this in almost 10 years.

So simple, so functional. They stopped updating it, so Android always warns me it's outdated whenever I install it on a new phone, but I've never had a single issue. "Simplicity is the key note of all elegance," indeed.
