Chess - Analyze This (Pro)

Not convincing. I have no problems paying for an app - the free version unfortunately disappear - but then I expect a few things. There is a bar on the left indicating the decimal (dis)advantage: it never moves and remains in the middle. I looked for Help to understand the scoring and info from the default engine: there is no help whatsoever. Just a list of new features. Uninstalled. 5€ wasted - I'm kind with my 3 stars.

This is truly a masterpiece of a chess app. Been using an older version on an older device for a while, now decided to install it on my newer device. It's even better than before. Very powerful tool, and super fun to use. Very intuitive commands. I probably shouldn't say this, but 4.99 for the pro version, it's a joke. Thumbs ups to all the team behind this app.

hands down the best I've seen so far. it's easy to play with the engine and it handles variants with a clickable list (obvious but still clever). the only improvement I can think of is that it'd be nice if I could just click FWD to pick the best (1st listed) move, vs moving the piece or clicking the 1st list item manually (I have clumsy fingers).

Recently I purchased the pro version and I like it very much. Theres only one thing: When I’ve added a new move to the last game in the pgn file and replace the altered game in the file, the app adds the new move but also copy the last 9 or 10 moves and pastes them at the end of file (without tags). Most programs and apps just ignore this so it’s no real problem (although it’s an error and doesn’t look very nice in the file). But e. g. Shredder GUI (on Linux/Desktop) isn’t able to open or show this last game correctly. I use Android 8.1.0. If this problem can be fixed I’d like to give 5 stars! 1.7.2019: The problem was fixed, now everything is fine! Very good work – five stars!

This app combined with the follow chess app is extremely useful for me. It's interesting to watch a game LIVE in follow chess and then suddenly decide to play one side against engine in this app and get a feel of the position. It's very easy to use and I can check the current position in the pgns I have. I wonder why I was using my smartphone as only a phone all these years!!

I'm really impressed with this app as I link it with zoom and use it for online coaching everyday via screen sharing. I was just wondering if u can make the following improvements : make the notation symbols on the board a little bit bigger. Create a default folder where all pgns appear and can be sorted (I sometimes forget which folder I saved a pgn in)

I wonder why anyone wouldn't rate this 5 star.... I love the human like comments during analysis, it explains the game better and makes me feel like I have an actual coach.. Lol. Edit:- I'm giving it a 3 star rating now because I think it's time to add a drag and drop option for moving the pieces, that'd make this app perfect. I'm tired of having to click between two square especially when I'm using a mouse on my tab.

For some reason whenever my phone (poco X3) is on dark mode both black and white pieces become white, there isn't even an option to disable dark mode for this app only(from the phone settings, changing it in app settings doesn't help) so every time I have to disable dark mode and it's annoying..

I've been using the premium version of this app for a long time but now, after a recent update, I'm being forced to view ads at startup. What the heck! I paid money to about ads! Very poor business practice. First time a developer began including ads in a premium version after it has been sold as ad free.

Superb. The perfect tool for analysing your own games, playing over master game collections and following concepts in study books without the need to constantly set up a physical board. Decent variety of options in the settings too. Well worth the purchase for beginners, improvers and basically anyone working on their game.

Perfect! No need to subscribe to get all of the benefits other chess apps promise. And installing new engines is incredibly easy! I have purchased many other chess apps on android, and had even previously subscribed to one, but this one is by far my favorite, without needing to subscribe at all! One price got me every feature I wanted out of a chess app! (edit: not able to any longer import engines, which was one of my main loves of this app. Hopefully devs will keep them updated.)

Love the update! The one thing that is missing and is extremely important is the ability to sign in and out of this app. I have the Analyze This (Pro) installed in my tablet and I want to use it as an archive of all my games and personal game analysis which require a lot of work. If there was a login and logout option on this app I wouldn't have to worry about losing my game data if my tablet breaks. I could get a new tablet and login to get access to my files no matter what.

Auto-analysis no longer shows the analyzed lines. It runs the engine through the moves but no results. Also, you can install an engine but cannot change contempt (or other equivalent parameter). Never regretted paying for an app until now.

I have been using this app for years. In my opinion, the best app if you like to analyze any chess game or position. Easy to use. Nice graphic. A simple app that can definitely help to improve your chess.

I have been using the Pro version and Follow Chess Pro for several years and overall it's been great. But it seems to be having problems with latest engines. First a few months ago it offered some beta Stockfish versions that worked at the same time. Later it only offers Stockfish 12. That works ok, but what happened to Stockfish 14? Reinstall did not help.

Nice piece of software. But I would like to see the analysis lines more nicely arranged. In case of two or more lines results would look so much nicer if arranged the way that all ":" are exactly under each other.

Sometimes the auto analysis stops on it's own. This is very irritating as even though I have paid money I am not getting proper facility of the app. please do something. Also the Critter Engine does not work on my device . Please look into the problem .

It's very nice app ,all functions working is very good and it is very useful to taking online classes and (need small improvement) Board notations is not able to observe quickly because letters and numbers are very small and all are inside the board

I absolutely over this app. Great design, full analysis available. No matter how many I try I always end up using this. Keep up the good work.

Great apps. Can we have multiple arrows just like lichess analyze. With multiple sizes of the arrows as well according to the advantage priority. That will be very helpful. Please and thank you 😁

I thought I'd reviewed this app before. But it's great. Highly recommend. I have one suggestion though. If you could: borrow a bit of code from Follow Chess to allow for f̶r̶a̶c̶t̶i̶o̶n̶s̶ ̶o̶f̶ ̶a̶ ̶s̶e̶c̶o̶n̶d̶ ̶i̶n̶ ̶a̶u̶t̶o̶ ̶r̶e̶p̶l̶a̶y̶ ̶m̶o̶d̶e̶ (implemented, ty dev!). Also auto play next game (With Pause Between Games) would be nice. Your apps are mostly top notch!

Wonderful! Keep it up! Can you please let me know how to simply play the main line keeping aside all the variations. I'm just not able to do it. I hope there is such a feature Will be glad to get a response.

Promising but doesn't save off the current game correctly. Often resets. Doesn't import well. I've stopped using this app for these reasons.

I used this free version for some time and just installed the paid version. Finally able to install the Leela engine!! This app delivers as promised, and I highly recommend you check out the other apps from this developer. Top notch!

Too good! Imrporvement in chessboard colourize squares and showing arrow in analyse offline games (like chessbase in pc version) will be more helpful key feature for trainers and students to learn chess more easily,please do needful with regards - 321Chess Academy

everything is ok but these 2 missing options are very important for analyse, (in some free aps they exists) 1) not able to open tablebases 2) not able to open openning books,, Will you consider them for later? edit: what about adding to analyse mode, the threshold? as pawn value. also the verbose on/off option

This is the most useful chess app out there for me. There is every single feature in this app you'd look for if you want to analyze your chess games in a better way. And the PGN handling is also fantastic.
