Any veteran blitz player will understand why multitouch is needed here. No need to expain because Its the very same reason why virtual keyboards badly need multitouch. See ChessClock by John Wilde as an example of excellent multitouch implementation.

The UI could use a bit usability love. With fast alternating moves, the app shows serious lag. During the lag time advances sy metrically for both players. This of course a show stopper for blitz.

Ok. So you can't set the time with the free version (limited to 5 minutes), and I'm not paying more than a dollar for a chess clock. Seriously. Looks good and works nice though.
