Chess PGN Master

No stockfish! Have installed from play store 6 times now, and get message "error starting engine". It gives a path of "com.kaleb.pgnviewer/files/livestockfish.so" and says "permission denied". When I look that folder /files/ it is empty! This used to work on my old phone a moto g4. Used it all the time and loved it. But, now I install it on my moto One hyper and everything works but no engine to play which makes it mostly unusable for my needs. Any help, appreciated

You let as add game but we can't delete a game. Now my game list is terrible. There is no delete game in edit mode. Only delete current variation, current move, and previous moves are available. I am only using the free version.

The "Side to move" orientation setting seems to be busted after the last update. A little annoying when using the app for solving puzzles. Update- Issue fixed

Very good, easy to use PGN viewer, but wish it managed set of pgn files. Right now, it just lets me open one pgn file at a time. I wish it would manage a list of pgn files I have on my file system.

Great app overall but I have 1 thing that may completely change chess on a new exciting level and it could be added to this app exclusively if we can do business.

Suddenly the search master games function has stopped working. The error msg is: The app mastes games must be installed ... I unistalled and re installed but still get the msg

Hi, First of all thanks for providing such a great app right in our hands. I just want to suggest something since my cell phone screen is small and that is, I think it would be better if there is an option to hide the top bar ( the one where Analysis, Blunder check and Players names are) in viewing mode so it free up some space for board. Except this everything is perfect. Thank you.

Overall this is a good app. The following could be improved tough: 1. when in viewing mode, you cannot see the complete names of the players. You either have to go to the drop down menu and click "information" or go to the list of games and find the names of the players. 2. after using the analysis engine, the tab showing the engine lines is still displayed even though you don't want to see it anymore. I hope something could be done about it. Thanks!

Very functional and useful app for storing and reviewing chess games. Price for PRO version is minimal, my suggestion is to pay for it. One desirable feature is missing: "branching", i.e. a convenient way to choose (sub)variation with which we want to continue reviewing the game. Now we have to go through game text, find and point on first move of variation. Much easier will be if program can list first moves of existing variations (maybe in separate window) so we can choose desired one.

App is great. But need "recent files" option. It is very important when learning two or more books. Ty. One more wish. I read pgn fine on another language. When I translate unknown word I select one and open context menu to translate it. When I close menu the reading progress is reset, text retern to beginning, scroll bar goes to top. Please, fix it.

I have installed so many different Chess apps for years. Also installed more after I installed your app. But this, along with one other chess app survived or not uninstalled. Nearly 95% satisfied. The UI can be improved by allowing the user to adjust button sizes or giving the option to hide buttons. Most of the time, I just want to see the board, moves, & engine analysis. Also, I really want this app to have a 3D board option with RGB color setter for board & pieces. I love this app in general!

You are right sir, I think these adjustments can only work for the internal engine and not external ones. I tried increasing the hash size and number of threads in the engine options and the engine increased its strength. I also increased the number of lines for engine evaluation to 4 which is the highest and the engine became even more powerful for it had beaten chess moves at its highest level 15. I thank you!

This is still the best Android chess app on the Play Store PERIOD! Although, lately, there seems to be an issue or a bug with the Edit Start Position. Even after setting a position, it reverts back to original start position. Hope you can fix this. Thanks

The feature I need most is to be able to annotate the .pgns without leaving the app. The most bothersome thing is the "move forward" and "start autoplay" buttons so close together while they're rightward arrows. I've accidentally started autoplay many, many times when wanting to move forward in the game.

Wonderful app (pro)! No doubts about that. Would like to see the following changes: 1) When you add a game to a file, it will help if we can select the position of the game, that is, whether down below or right up or before or after a game in the file. Also sorting option will help. 2) Swipe for board flip will be icing on the cake!

A very good app to study games with. Have it for many years. A suggestion for the analysis window to limit itself to two lines at most (or give option to choose) per variation. This will allow a few more variations to be seen without having to do any scrolling.

You can have it on other (Android) devices through family library so just one purchase..proceed as if you were to buy it again and you will have the app on screen showing the family library slide button. I personally think it is a unique pgn program and the best I can find

Have searched high and low for a decent pgn viewer for my Chromebook and finally stumbled on this. Simply outstanding! The Dropbox feature is incredibly useful and unique, compared to other such apps I've tried.

Its a very nice app, I like it especially when combined with the "Master Games" app and I recommend for all chess players out there who are serious in their development, but I would like to make a suggestion, I thought it would be better if there is an another app named "Openings" or something that provides all the openings with 100+ games each, it would be the best app ever.

An amazing app, the pro version is worth every penny. One feature I'd like to see is the list of variations displayed as different colored arrows on the board.

after I update this version 2.2.9, the notation is not good, there is no + when check. why? and it can't read Qe6+ when I played in guess move Mode. The old version was better. I like the old version. In this new version 2.4.1 is fixed already. Goodjob. Excellent & Thank you .

Best application ever, not sure from version 1.6.6 it has stopped opening scid format files.... and please if possible add two options from your other application [Scid on the go] to this app... -1. is study mode option ... -2. is move animation selection .... thanks in advance ..

Hi, please provide arrow navigation buttons below the board for right handed users because the current implementation is only for left handed that I need to stretch my thumb far across the screen. thanks

i am chess player, fide elo almost 2200 and iI have been using lot of applications in my career but after about a year of using this one I can say the best app for dealing with pgn databases and games available for android. keep developing! one question; I am not able to change text/notation background color....

Excellent overall chess app, it's possible to view 1000's of masters games!! Enough said right there imho anyway, lots of ways to analyze masters games as well. Responseive developer who actually cares about the players, and a reasonabley priced add on for saving current matches. Absolutely *5 from me. Feels like a professional chess matches for free!

My favourite chess app, and I tried alot of them ;-) My personal top features are the (configurable) blunder check and the ability to do 960 – thumbs up!!! Great work!

Hi, I demand a refund, because somehow when i entered the app there were 2 options and when I chose the hide option my app crushed and has been deleted immediately. Eventually, I checked playstore and there was a refund button.

Only 20 games per day to watch in free version, really? Wasted my time as downloaded a pgn book and was reading on the way without the Internet. But it stopped after I tried to watch 21st line.
