Chess Repertoire Manager Free is a versatile chess training tool focusing in building opening repertoire but you can use it in many other ways. It's a must have tool for every serious or tournament chess player's arsenal. Your main goal is gain an advantage and prevent a losing position by planning in advance your best reply for every possible opponent move in your openings . Use this app to gain this advantage.
Quick overview on how to use one of the main features of the app: First, open the app and go to manage repertoire. Add your opening. Then select Prepare. On the main UI (the chessboard) enter your move and every opponents expected move manually. Use the built-in chess engine to find your best move or use a good chess book. Alternatively, import a PGN file with many games including comments and variations to automatically populate your chess opening repertoire. Then you are ready to train your opening. Select train in the main menu. Train your chess opening repertoire by playing mock games against it until you are familiar (pattern recognition) with every terrain (variation lines) in your opening repertoire.

A bit clunky, bit of a learning curve, but seems to be a useful app. Simple oversight is the app isn't registered to accept .pgn files so if I try to share the PGN file with the app I can't... have to download and import which is a nuisance. I also like to sync the DB from my tablet to my phone which is a multi step process as you can't save directly to Google drive. Better PGN editing features would be appreciated, especially merging them. Ditto for the databases. Also add exclam etc.
Help me. I can't find the option to configure then engine's hash table size. Hash table increases the engines strength significantly by utilizing the available RAM. One more annoying problem: It seems that the last board position is not restored after the app is restarted. Please fix it. Thanks
The engine is working again. 5 stars for that! I have one problem. When i switch to another app then later come back to chess trainer, the pieces often resets to the starting opening position. I hope it's easy to fix. Thank u
For a Free App this is great !! In your Manage Repertoire page if you press a bit hard it automatically deletes all your input on that particular Opening. Ideally hard press should open the folder, not delete the info. If this is not possible there should at least be a prior warning .
Great application for learning openings for chess. The only thing I'd like in this app which is not currently in it is for there to be an option to train with many more than 8 moves (even double maybe), I would like to look at lines in more depth. If that was an option it would 5 stars! Thanks
It is not possible to import your own pgn files so how am I supposed to test this app!? Therefore, one star for this app. EDIT: it works fine now, but all the lines end after only 5 moves. The app itself is ok, I guess, but it would be better if it could play out all the variations from the pgn file to the end.
perfect app to polish my opening skills! mine are a bit rusty from not playing overtime. I love how it's easy to use and the graphics are not all up in your face. really user friendly!! I would recommend getting the pro version tho to avoid ads and access library

Keeps showing me the tour everytime i open the app, i can't find a way to stop this🤦🏾♀️also, sometimes it doesn't open a game, i just keeps showing the one already on the board, besides that it's a nice app, i just have to give it 1 star so you'd notice and fix it, then you'd get 5
I understand that this app is great and all, but I can't seem to make it work. When I try to play against the AI it won't make any move, and after I have set up a board position to analyze I can't manage to make it work. Any ideas? Thanks PS: I'll write a good review as soon as I have learnt how to solve this problem.
The application crashes after the message that it needs data access to show ads. The worst thing is that it does have access and display ads all the time

This app is incredible, I have leant a lot that my opening skills have improved. In my opinion perhaps they should also include principles for the sake of some players who don't know all of them just like me
You have a very confusing route (not user friendly) to change between modes. And why the hell it repeats the menu instructions each and every time. Uninstalling this game 🙏 Who the hell r u to judge me just because I said it's not user friendly? You developers are so mean and rude. I didn't misinterpret, you were rude. Not only to me but to all who have given less than 4 stars. It doesn't give you privilege to talk rudely who are not satisfied with your app.
Nice app. It's what Im looking for a long time. This app is the mobile version of Bookup or Chess Position Trainer that I used on pc. I give it 5 star, though I like to see more features. Keep up the good work.
Great app. Great tooltips. Not the most intuitive or pretty, but very functional and definitely puts in an effort to help the user know how to use it.
Engine error> cannot run program /data/user/)/com.ayelmarc.chessorm/files/engine/engine.exe"error=13. Permission denied. Running the pro version on Samsung S20, android 10. To my knowledge, permissions are granted.
Bought this app but it still shows me thr Get Pro link doesn't show me the uninstall button and there's no sigh that I purchased it. Except for the transaction ID in my bank. Is this a rip-off or just first time bad luck.
I liked this app but however I have problem when I reset the score of my opening and it doesn't appear even I've trained so many times. Please I really need an answer how to fix this.
How to dissable the popup during start up that shows Select PGN file to import? I often accidently tap it and it's so annoying. I can't find its off toggle in settings.
Good application for building repertoire, but I'm having troubles exporting PGN files, some variations are missing, or the file ends up consisting of the multiple same variations
(Update) The engine now works. Thank you support team for the information. I will further explore this trainers capabilities. Its a solid 4star at the moment.
I purchased the pro version but having issues with the marker and there is no response from the dev team almost month over, better to use lichess free study creator
Awesome apps but apps is not working and error show during startup, unable to engine play. Kindly fix the bug.
Not able to complete the moves. After 8 moves, it says opening line finished. Though I have feed 12 moves in the openning reportorie.
Engine Error during loading. This app is handicapped without engine. It happened after Android 10 firmware update
Great app but that voice just yells the positions really LOUDLY. how the hell do I turn it off?!
Please add option to adjust speed of animation of the pieces, to slow mo then this app is complete.
If you are playing a game and click on manage repertoire, it leads to crashing of app.
Thanks to the developer's reply on how to open pgn's. Would be very nice if this app displayed the opening moves in a list of games for much easier navigation. I would like to create more folders and subfolders in the repertoire management that by default has only three main folders and a 2-ranks hierarchy, far from enough. This app has great potential, I must say.
