Chess - Strategy board game

I have used the app only for about a week completing all the challenges (mate in 1, mate in 2) and was intending to work through the game levels to see which level gives me a level of competition equal to my standard, having won easily on levels 1 and 2. The game prompts you to purchase a paid version to turn off the annoying adverts - and I would have paid, but apparently (despite the in-game prompts) there is no paid version available on Play Store. Now looking for an alternative chess app.

A good variety of abilities to play against. Games saves when window is closed to resume at another time.

Computer plays an involving game of strategy. Great way to sharpen the skills.

At times I open the game and the pieces dont line up with the board, that makes it impossible to play. Also at the end of the games the app looks for a draw instead of trying to play on. Apart from these little issues love the app.

As a beginner, I really enjoy this game and it is helping me learn. Only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because the pieces become offset in between games and you have to play with the color setting to get it to realign. Fix that bug and it would be amazing!

The interface is very poorly designed. The pieces don't line up on the squares making it difficult to tell which one they are on, and the board only uses half the screen, the rest of it is just black. No idea how that made it passed a design team.

At fist I was ok with the tiny ads at the bottom of the screen, wanted to try before buying an ad free copy. I was starting to like it, but then infuriating full screen loud videos kept popping up every move. Uninstalling and looking elsewhere.

Over the years I have had several chess games on my phones. This is the best so far. I really enjoy this version. It does however sometimes freeze and have to restart. Fortunatley I can start from where the game stopped.

Not many bells and whistles, good AI range - from beginner learning the rules to strong enough for mid-level players, decent graphics, no annoying pop up ads so far. I'm satisfied, compared to other offerings I've tried.

Great game , good challenges gets your mind going . Helps you practice when you play against a real opponent to. Thanks great app. Be nice if we could change the peice colurs other than black and white . Like burgendy and purple . Or dark blue and light blue . The lighter colour can act as white obviously.

Great chess game. Its pitched just right with the difficulty levels to keep you learning. The graphics are good.. though could be sharper on the pieces.. The ads are really not intrusive. All in all 5 stars from me..

Im trying this chess app for the first time, but I have tried other chess apps, and this one is excellent. Nice home page, graphics, even sound effects. Don't let the ads distract you and you'll enjoy.

This is a great game even if you are a beginner at playing chess. It moves quickly and there ate very few advertisements. It has an undo feature if you make a foolish move so that you can learn from your mistakes and improve your skill.

Well , here are all the reasons why I play chess is because , this game helps me to think outside of the box and to really use my brain (to think hard about what you would have to do) , it also helps me as an individual to think quickly or very fast. And most of all this game can really help me in high school. Think outside of the box guys !!!!!😜😜😜😜

Very enjoyable, nice board & figures, started off at level 3 but during endgame found the suicidal AI moves a bit disappointing. I guess this is meant as encouragement for players at such level. At level 5 a while now and endgame less blatant "gives" but still evident. Probably at highest level full push back...

This chess game has a clean user interface with ads that don't obstruct gameplay. So far I've only played against levels 1 and 2 but it's very enjoyable! Multiple board colour options is a nice touch.

Compared to many other chess games I have played, the pieces appearance and scale are easily recognizable and for me , results in my thinking being allocated entirely to the strategies and nothing being allocated to deciphering the symbol. Kudos to the designers!

Very simple to use. Good skill levels. Draws are sometimes called that are actually wins if played out. Ads are not bad, and easy to by pass if desired. Over all, this is among the best.

Really enjoyed playing chess , using this app I've tried others but will be sticking with this one. Good game play, and graphics pretty good. Started on a lower level then slowly playing against the computer worked me level up !!!

1. Castling often doesnt work. 2. Often it suddenly says "draw" while it is not/it was loosing the match. These issues are such a turnoff. Otherwise it's great. Please fix these bugs.

It's quite effective at simulating different skill levels and no adds.

It's a way too nice app for people who have already learnt chess. But is not useful for beginners. Well, not only this app,but most of the apps provided for chess are only for people who atleast know the basics of chess. I advice u to learn chess by joining a class or learn from someone who is an expert and not wasting time on such apps. But yet I'll say it is a nice app👍☺️

It's great. The ease of use, the graphics and the playability of it makes it fully enjoyable. Plus I can play this game while offline and on airplane mode!

Enjoy the game. I have beaten the game at level 7 once and have also drawn 3 games at level 7. The rest of the time, the game has hammered me. It is a good learning tool to improve your game play as well. Recommended.

When there is a check it does not allow to kill the piece causing the check with another piece it just allows getting rid of the check moving the king the worst part is that it happens just on my side because when the oponent is on that situation it can kill normally , not a fair game very frustrating and annoying

User friendly. Good for improving your chess. It would better if the pop-ups didn't keep interfering with the game and the instructions.

It is a very useful application for all levels in chess.

I have just found this game on my phone and am really happy. But while playing my first game I had to stop and wanted to save till later. When I returned later the game had moved on without me playing it. That was sad. I still haven't found out how to save a started game once started, if at all possible!

I am back to give it all the star ratings, this is a good game with user-friendly features. The background is superb, different from others I see around on the net and with some friends too. Yes, go ahead and get this, if you love the game of chess.
