Chessimo – Improve your chess

Your chess engine only knows one theme when playing as white. One. King comes out on second move capture his queen then king side rook and checkmate in 4 or 5 moves. In playing against the London system it has no clue whatsoever. It times out. So, what you have to get to 3000 Elo before it changes? I get the repetition part, but after 40 games of the same thing. No challenge.

EDIT: as of what looks like an update on 19/2/22, I now can't access any of the courses at all(on Galaxy S20). The app is essentially useless. Still a bit buggy but the tactics course is a good one. The endgame course stops working because one of the puzzles won't let you enter the right move and you can't move past it, so you effectively can't do the endgame course properly past Unit 8 (It's Endgame Puzzle 79 in Unit 8, if they want to fix it). Very frustrating, especially having paid for it.

i need to buy this(chessimo)app in my computer.can you please send me link or any source to download for a fee. i really like this app and i do practice everyday in the morning.iam very excitted about a pattern recognisation,it seemed to be aewsome.In this app there are modules with group of units.In a unit there are a 60 more positions. i have completed 4 modules.Now i have entered into a 5 module.i really enjoy when i do this each and every postion.thanks a lot to this app for making me a good player

Exercises are great and there are plenty of units or practice scenarios for each skill area. But, most units that I saw were 'find whites (or blacks) best move.' It's difficult to understand strategy, for example, by just looking at what the best move is for a configuration. The app has great potential. It's the smaller nuances that make bigger impacts on usability. When a piece is captured, the movement is rapid and because captured pieces aren't displayed, it's hard to figure out what occurred

The description posted here on google play sounds great but the app doesn't live up to it. The graphics are saw weren't that great. The game pacing and problems are distracting. You take a minute to move and the app moves the pieces faster than your reflexes. On the problems you move and the the next problem displayed before you can look at what you did. No feedback about wrong moves. I plan on playing the free stuff to give it a fair test but at this point its not worth 3 bucks to see more

Still didn't test it all. But I lost all my progress. When playing black the board doesn't flip(white is still at the bottom). It's of no use to anyone to recognise the patterns this way. The app says some settings can only be edited on the website. No place to login on the website and most links pointing to the website are broken.

Access the database by clicking help - took me ages to find it, added a star for it being there. Content is brilliant, best tactics repetition training out there, but the endgame bits are ruined by giving hard fails for equally good moves. If there are only 2 or 3 equal moves it is a simple task to try them all but in Queen endgames it gets tiresome. Shame it doesn't sync accross devices. Finally they need to fix the website or make it possible to change start and target dates in the app.

Excellent for spaced repetition. Great collection of puzzles. I'm starting to see the patterns practiced here pop up iny own games. The app is a bit clunky though. Sometimes it freezes and sometimes the pieces don't land where I tell them to making me think I got the wrong answer.

The app is exhausting,it's really not user friendly in my opinion, when you make a wrong move it mostly if not always doesn't tell you why it's wrong, all you hear is some annoying sound the commented endgames are terrible only one move is correct even after analysing the position the move I saw first was actually as good as the one correct move in position that two or more moves work the app only accepts one and it's really annoying.

5 stars for the content. 1 star for the app. I had this on my PC back in the day so it's great to see it here now. App needs MAJOR work. No option to repeat failed exercises. None of the on screen commands do anything. Any news on update dev? Thanks Edit 8th March. Update has deleted my history 🤬

04/07/2021: Problems: Endgame module 3, board 52, does not autocomplete if Kf6 then drives pawn forward, but works with Kd6. Endgame module 5, board 56 does not complete nor allow advancement. Love this chess trainer! It's not flashy or complicated but forces pattern recognition. I've learned how to play correctly in difficult endgames with little thinking. You can pause to reflect or auto advance to next problem based on settings.

EDIT: Issues resolved. Marks of finished units resolved as training from both sides too. 'Spaced repetition system' is a scientificaly proven in psychology. Advice: leave tactical part for when brain is already tired and strategic part for starters. I already see massive improvements: against much stronger opponents I get brutal victories. Long live devs!

I really like the problem sets that the app offer, and how it incrementally introduces new chess patterns. However, I was not able to restore my purchase on my tablet, so I was only able to use the phone. If that isse is fixed, I would highly appreciate it.

I'm using the mobile Android app, and it doesn't show me which module and which unit I last played. Please fix this. Also, when you promote a pawn in tactics, it should give you a choice as to which piece to promote to and then show the pawn transform into the new piece rather than just giving you an automatic pass. Other than that, the app is great.

Currently does not work with Samsung S9+ with Android Pie. None of the options (like training) work when you tap on them. I'm waiting for a response from the creator of the app to see if it works with Android Pie.

A very good app for learning chess! Still some glitches though...in the game database several moves are missing even after clicking the next arrow buttons. Also your help and contact pages online don't open up..pls update the links

The app is defective. Under, Endgames, Unit 3, exercise 52/60, after several moves the exercise freezes up as the app stops working. I tried to contact Chessimo directly via email, but the listed email address was not valid.

I am having problems with some of the application's functions. several commands don't work, i can't pause, rewind, trigger a solution, nor can i edit the profile in the settings.

Nice training on tactics, strategy and endgames. Opening training is a joke.

Awesome app. I've been using it daily for quite some time now, working on my chess skills and I would highly recommend this app to anyone, perhaps more for advanced players but also to others wanting to become good at playing chess - like, really good at it- lol. This app is very informative and I love the design:)

I can't create an account inside the app or in the web page. And the app won't registered my progress, I bought all the modules, but it seems hard to train when the app won't record my progress, hope you guys can help..

So far, the only thing I like about this game is the Hints. The computer cheats. It plays for a while and then in the middle of my move it simply says m, 'I win' and ends the game without even getting me into check, muchless checkmate.

It's good. But there definitely is no flexibility at all in training. Get frustrated having anticipate the exact next move

MULTIPLE BUGS - 1) Chess Board Should be visible while reading the notes 2) Piece Placement is not smooth enough and sometime it takes time to move the piece. Accuracy is less 3) PNG export should be there and many other flaws.

great program. my rating is around 2000 and it's helping me a lot. great refreshments of basic concepts and even learning something new.

It is one of the best application I've ever been installed in my phone. It will help you to improve your thinking skills as well as your Tactics in playing chess and many more! Just loved it!

Love this app on my old Iphone, most features are finally working with android. However there are still some glitches. Like I can only play white against Sergio. Also I can only play white in the openings training. Please fix these problems.

I havent experienced it yet but I saw somthing of I realised the movement doesnt show so for example a noob wont know how a horse moves and just keep spamming a block on the board till it moves then just to realise it's the wrong move-I havent got anything yet since am checking what the games about before buying somthing (thats common sense ofc) hope to get a response

App dosen't work. Once started it just shows a dark screen and does not start. Not even after 5 hours. Edit: Now it shows a white screen. Yes I reinstalled it yesterday.

I can't restore my purchases, and the scrolling is off in some of the views. The service (website and content) is really good, the app is not (galaxy S10)
