Should be a great app, the main feature is the map but its about 2 years out of date. Several of the animals have moved and some are missing completely so its very hard to navigate. Due to covid-19 you cant get paper maps when you visit either. Come on chester, get your map updated for visitors.
The app could be so much more. My young daughter loves collecting things. When we walk around the zoo we find that may of the animals/insects/birds etc just aren't in the app and she is disappointed. It would be fantastic to have all the creatures at the zoo in the app.
Top tip: dont use the free chester zoo wifi if you want to get passed the loading screen! Like quite a few others i experienced the infinite loading screen after downloading the app on the chester zoo free wifi. even though i have the latest phone with all updates. The app can be made to work if you turn wifi off and just use your own data. i guess the firewall on their wifi system blocks the required update.
Simply doesn't work. Says loading and (if you're at the zoo) you can see the Google map in the background, but you can't do anything because of the loading overlay.
Map badly out of date. Hopefully will be sorted when the rebuilding work is completed. Would be great to have an interactive map which would show exactly where you are in the Zoo.
This app is out of date and most info doesn't load at all (at home on wi-fi). I think someone designed the app dkme time ago but no one maintains it. Uninstalled it.
Very old information. You would be best picking up a map on the gate or using the signs around the site. The social media sites will also give you more upto date information and news. Badge collection would be great for young kids if the map was up to date.
app dos not work, just stays on the loading page and doesnt do anything else. I deleted the apo and reinstalled the app 3 times but it stilldoes not work. I'm using a pixel 2 standard.
Visiting for the first time tomorrow (May 6th) found the app thought it would be useful but won't load I'm on a smart phone android 9.1 phone 6 months old and won't get past loading stage.
Wayyy out of date. Assume this is a budgetary issue. When it was up to date, was good - but could do with a tour planning route
Great app but the map is out of date and also as members there's no option on the booking screen just to book priority parking only
Dont bother installing it, quite simply it doesn't work.... infinite loading screen and by the looks of reports has been this way for some time.
Sticks on loading screen. from reading other reviews this has obviously been an issue for a while so why not fix it??
Like many others who have tried, the app wouldn't load. Pity; it would have been useful for my trip tomorrow.
Map wasn't great. Half the time it had no idea where I was. Didn't get any reminders either. Basically a waste of time.
Badly out of date map, can't tell were you are on it. Total waste if time.

Sadly the information on the app is now so out of date as to be almost useless. The map is wrong in several respects, with some animals moved more than a year ago to enclosures the other side of the site from where the app shows them. The app attempts to show opening times and animal talk details that are also wrong and suggests taking a trip on the monorail (which has now been dismantled). It's better than nothing for a general feel of the site but an up to date leaflet would be far better.
