Once you get through the first time setup, it's pretty seamless to connect to your PS consoles. While it's a plus to use any controller, but the lack of options hurts it a bit, especially with some Android devices stealing some buttons away from your controller for its UI. The experience would be a lot better if there was a button mapper, and if the PSN ID retrieval process was baked into the app. I'm sure most end users will consider it a hassle to get their ID through a separate machine.
This is the only way Ive been able to use ps4 remote play on my kindle fire. Thank you for the work put in to this. For others. My dual shock doesnt work, but using an old wired xbox 360 controller with OTG cable, it is running great. I just need to make sure show touchpad is enabled for when that is needed. Again amazing. The visual quality is better than the official app on my other devices. I'm looking forward to testing it on PC soon to see how it runs vs the official app.
Just installed the 1.2.0 update and it is fantastic. Do to Kiddos, I don't get to use the living room TV much, so I use Steam Streaming and Stadia on my phone to play a majority of my games. The Only system I have had issues with was the PS4 (Pro) due to really bad input lag (using both this app and the official Sony one). With the 1.2.0 update, I just played GoW perfectly on my Pixel 4 and an Xbox One Wireless controller. I look forward to finally being able to play through several PS games I have laying around.
Setup was easy enough, the app worked flawlessly connecting my controller, the issue I encountered was the inability to use my right trigger on my Xbox controller. Any way to (re)map keys would make this a solid 5/5 for me.
Works great. Getting my user ID was a bit tricky, but I was able to actually do it right on my phone using a phyton 3 app. Able to connect, and play, mapped my Razer junglecat controller perfectly. Just wish it had the option to remap so I could map PS button or a touchpad button. Still great.
Good app, but simply not as good as the official remote play app. While the customisation features are great and way more detailed than the official app, it is the latency that holds it back. 0.5s delay may not sound like much, but it makes playing any FPS/multiplayer game near impossible. The only reason I use this is because the official app isn’t on my device (Android TV). Maybe it’s just my device, but I can’t play the games I want to play, it’s simply too hard to compensate for the lag.
Awesome remote play app. My only issues with it is the controls on screen. And the fact that for some reason my ps4 touch pad won't function with the app for some reason. Other than that, I have the best quality for gaming that I've ever had. Other apps has dropped out or had poor quality
Working smoothly so far. Great to see controller support. However annoyed by the fact that I cant hide my onscreen controls. I see the option to turn it off for a split second when connecting to the ps4 but cant seem to trigger it at all.
Works great, much better than the official client. Only pain point is initial setup which requires you to obtain your psn ID (different than username). You have to run a python script to get that info, but once you have it you're set. Would really be nice if some TouchPad support was possible for things like bloodborne's gesture and quick use menu, but I'll still gladly take this over the official app.
Really Good experience. I just wish i could disable on screen buttons when playing with a controller, its really annoying to see those buttons on screen , it really ruins the experience. Please give us an option to disable it when not in use... Thanks...
Why would Sony do that to my PSN ID? After the confusing bit, this app is PHENOMENAL! There is a remap button feature (look for setting that say circle and moon) and the touchpad works. Can't rave about it enough.
The app works very well. However, it would be great if "Controller Mapper #169" was implemented, especially because L2 and R2 buttons don't work for a (wired plugged) physical controller.
Nice app, people having trouble on how to remove overlay buttons, just slide on the top screen while on streaming then the option will pop up and you can easily remove the overlay buttons! very nice free alternative compare to other apps which is 5 dollars
Exceeded my expectations. The best remote play app! Far, far better than even the official one. Yes, first time setup may be a bit confusing. But once you get through that, it really is amazing.
Thank you Devs, keep up the great work! This is an incredible alternative to the official remote play app; being able to use any controller and edit the video stream settings set this apart.
If I had to give a disadvantage for thi app it would be that you can't use remote play if you use a diferent wifi connection than the ps4 or if that wifi connection doesn't have internet, but those are more the ps4 fault than this app which is why I'll give it 5 stars. Thanks so much for making it :)
Works great and more important now I able to connect my PS4 trough cell network and my 8bitdo controller! Only one small thing is missing is the "L3" and "R3" buttons on touch controller
Loved this app. Everything was awesome, but most of the time I was facing problem of using both of the on-screen joystick. Otherwise it's the best alternative to Sony's official RemotePlay app
Can you please make it so I can customize the face buttons on my controller? for some reason it reads my PlayStation 5 controllers completely the wrong way even if I turn on the swap face button setting on the settings menu. It chooses to remix all the buttons for no reason
Firmware 8.0 made it so I could not access it anymore... But still appreciated it while it lasted as it let me use my nvdia shield portables controller. Update: 8.0 now works after the last update.
Works really well, needs a way of remapping controls though, as it is my circle button acts as the PS button, with no way to remap it.
Connects to my ps5 for remote play but it's unplayable with the dualsense controller because the buttons are mapped all wrong. Works great for my ps4 pro and dualshock controller.
Can't believe an app with such a wonderful potential doesn't have button remapping option. It doesn't map ps4 controller correctly. Psplay app maps ps4 controller correctly
when putting my PS4 Pro into safe mode through the app, it gets stuck in that state. Doesn't seem to affect the Windows version.
Really good app overall, the only drawback away from 5 stars is the unability to hide onscreen control, hope it gets added in the near future.
When i play with a friend a game like A way out together on same TV, is there a setting to see on smartphone only the onscreen buttons, not the splitscreenm game itself ?? thx for answer
It works the first time I connect, but now every time I try to reconnect I get a "Session has quit: Unknown Ctrl Error" message
Thank you for doing what Sony couldn't/wouldn't, dualshock support everywhere! You guys rock. Using Chiaki on both my linux mint and chromebook.
I'm rooting for this open-source software. However, the input latency is way too high to be able to use this app realistically. The latency is the same with a PS4 DualShock connected through Bluetooth and on-screen buttons. I'm using a Chromebook though, so it might be the issue with the Android subsystem implementation, not with the app itself. On PC the latency is fine.
